U.S. Vice President lauds Japan's resolve in tsunami

U.S. Vice President Joe Biden expressed admiration for the stoicism of the Japanese people in their efforts to recover from the tsunami, as he met Tuesday with Japan's prime minister on the third and final leg of an Asian tour.

Prime Minister Naoto Kan thanked Biden for the United States' "enormous assistance" after the disaster, when among other things American military personnel helped reopen the damaged airport at Sendai, where Biden was to give a speech later Tuesday. He also was scheduled to visit evacuees living in temporary housing along the devastated northeastern coastline.

"Looking at it from afar, it was absolutely breathtaking, heartbreaking," Biden said of the March 11 disaster, which left just over 20,000 people dead and missing. He said the American public was impressed with the stoicism and resolve of the Japanese people, calling it a model for the whole world.

Biden also reaffirmed the countries' alliance and economic ties. Under a security pact, nearly 50,000 American troops stationed in Japan.

Referring to the natural disaster in Japan and budget problems in the U.S., Biden said, "There are voices in the world who are counting us out. They are making a very bad bet."

Kan said Biden's trip — his first to Asia as vice president — demonstrates that "Japan is open for business."

Biden is spending two days in Japan, the final stop of an eight-day trip to Asia that already took him to China and Mongolia.

His visit to Japan comes at a time of widespread speculation that Kan will resign in coming weeks or even days over his administration's perceived lack of leadership in handling the triple crisis — the earthquake, tsunami and nuclear accident at the Fukushima Dai-ichi plant, located between Sendai and Tokyo.

More broadly, Biden's visit comes amid China's rising economic, military and political clout that is somewhat overshadowing Japan, which is wrestling with a two-decade economic slump, bulging deficit and aging population — and now recovery from a threefold disaster.

In China, Biden had extensive face-time with the country's expected future leader, Xi Jinping, and delivered a strong message of the mutual interdependence between the U.S. and China, the world's two biggest economies.

Biden also made the case for continued U.S. economic vitality despite current budget woes and sought to reassure China's leaders and ordinary citizens about the safety of their assets in the United States following the downgrading of America's credit rating.

On Wednesday, Biden plans to visit a U.S. air force base west of Tokyo to thank military and civilian personnel for helping with relief and recovery efforts in the wake of the disaster.

Aaron Vaughn's Family Interview

In my previous post, I expressed the fact that many bloggers sensed that something was fishy about the attack on the Chinook helicopter that claimed the lives of 30 members of our armed forces, including 22 SEALS from SEAL Team 6.  Reporters in the field for FOX News have expressed how unusual it was for 22 members of an elite SEAL team to be placed on one helicopter.  He stated that "it had never been done before."

Will we ever know the truth about what happened and why it happened?   With the way this evil administration covers up crimes we may never know - this side of heaven at least.   However,  one family who lost their son, Aaron Vaughn (one of the deceased SEAL heroes), evidently knows what devastation is happening to our country because of this terrible administration. They got the chance to say it during an interview with Matt Lauer. They lifted up the name of Christ, mentioned  love for this country, and why Aaron was willing to give his life for this nation.

The entire interview is absolutely riveting. The father says exactly what kind of war we are in. However, pay special attention to what Aaron's father says about "the three types of people" in the world and how some of the "sheep in high places said things that made the SEAL Team 6 families very uncomfortable" 90 days ago when supposedly secret information about the OBL raid was revealed.

Be prepared. It is absolutely heart wrenching. But the interview also shows the great faith that Aaron and his entire family have in Jesus Christ. That is the victory in the midst of tragedy and grief.




May God bless each and every one of these brave men who gave their lives in service to the protection of our country. I pray that they were all believers in Jesus Christ, just like Aaron Vaughn was, and that they are all together with Christ in heaven. I pray for strength, comfort, and peace for the families of the victims of this terrible tragedy. May the God of our Lord Jesus Christ comfort them during this time of enormous grief. Amen.

Sunday in the Park with Chicago's Cold War Missile Defense Shield

During the height of the Cold War, anti-aircraft missile batteries surrounded many of the major population centers in the United States. Built under the Project Nike program, these rings of military bases formed defense shields against a nuclear attack from Soviet long-range bombers. At the beginning of the program, they carried missiles with conventional warheads, but in later years, they were equipped with missiles capable of carrying nuclear warheads with yields ranging from 2 to 30 kilotons.

While detonating a nuclear bomb so close to a city like Los Angeles and New York might sound like it would defeat the purpose of protecting them from such a blast, bear in mind that these Nike batteries were literally the last line of defense. Getting just a singe also seems to be a more preferable outcome than total nuclear annihilation. But exactly how many missiles were fitted with a nuclear warhead and at which sites seem to be a matter of state secret.

Chicago had a total of 23 batteries — the most among the Nike program cities. Each one was typically divided into two separate parcels of land. At the Launch Area, the missiles were stored in underground bunkers and brought up to the surface using an elevator and a rail system. Located a short distance away, the Battery Control Area contained the radar and computer equipment.

Since each site was typically manned by a large crew of at least 100 personnel, there were recreational facilities, crew quarters and other support facilities attached to either the launch or control area. Otherwise they would have been located at a separate third area.

As can be seen from the map above, most of the sites were built on the urban fringes of the city and away from densely populated areas. A couple were even located in the boondocks of northern Indiana. But what's really interesting about these Chicago emplacements (and what really piqued our interest in the very first place) is that three of them were inserted into prime parkland area along the shores of Lake Michigan.

The launch area of Site C-03, for instance, was built on Belmont Harbor; its control area was on Montrose Harbor a little further to the north. Just a few yards away from its arsenal of nuclear-capable missiles were high-rise lakefront apartments. One wonders if residents in those buildings regularly spied on the missiles preening upwards on their launchers during test runs. Surely they must have been treated to the spectacle of a simulated nuclear armageddon.

Another battery, Site C-40, was built on the northern end of Burnham Park, near McCormick Place and Soldier Field. The third, Site C-41, was located in the similarly genteel surroundings of Jackson Park, the very same park designed by Frederick Law Olmsted and Calvert Vaux and in an earlier era hosted Daniel Burnham's White City during the World's Columbian Exposition.

It's interesting to think that in the backyard of the Museum of Science of Industry, students from the nearby University of Chicago might have taken leisurely strolls among picturesque lagoons and arcadian meadows while soldiers, in their restricted enclosures, hurriedly scampered about during a readiness drill, the sounds of birds twittering and frolicking mashed up with alarms blaring. Closer to the lake, people threw frisbees around while radar towers looming above them tracked the skies for any incoming apocalypse.

All structures at the three lakefront sites have long been demolished and cleared away. Most of the other sites also have had their buildings razed and their underground bunkers filled in. Post-Nike conversions have varied through the years, and have included a police shooting range, a golf course, parking lots and industrial developments. A popular conversion seems to be turning them into “Nike Parks” or “Patriot's Parks”. There's not much left to see, in other words.

One of the better documented sites in its ruin state is C-84. Before a shopping mall was plopped down on top, the National Park Service sent some of its awesome HABS/HAER surveyors in 1992 to take some photographs. One imagines urban explorers lamenting at the loss of such a pleasure ground.

Fortunately for the dark tourists, ruin pornographers and CLUI junkies, there are still some residual traces worth your time. For instance, some concrete slabs and building foundations remain at the launcher area of Site C-44, located at Wolf Lake in the southeastern corner of the city.

To see a sizable collection of buildings and radar towers still intact, you'd have to go to Site C-47 in Indiana. The control area, now a Blast Camp paintball venue, still have some of its radar towers. All the buildings at the launcher area are still standing, though this parcel of the site is private property.

Add in a “Nike Park” and a “Patriot's Park” to the itinerary plus a stop at the C-84 shopping mall and even a picnic in Jackson Park, and you have the making of an interesting Sunday outing perambulating the city's edgelands. It'd be like re-tracing some spectral pilgrimage route encircling the city, perhaps in tangent to the same arcs and loops which decades ago some military inspector, while island hopping from one nuclear arsenal to another, had inscribed into the landscape with his irradiated body. And who knows, maybe you'll also be soaking in minute amounts of radiation at each way station, in which case your own infinitesimally irradiated body will be leaving a trail of energetic breadcrumbs.

It'll be an atomic tour of Chicago's Cold War missile defense shield.

Is This Justice? Or, Just Fixed?

If you were to ask me if Lieutenant Colonel Terry Lakin is being given justice, I would have to answer with A BIG FAT NO!!

Lieutenant Colonel Terrence Lakin, a distinguished Army flight surgeon, is "certain" to be convicted of disobeying orders, according to his lawyer, Neil Puckett.

LTC Lakin will go on trial December 14 for refusing to deploy with his unit to Afghanistan. The senior officer questioned the legal validity of his orders because they originate ultimately with President Barack Obama, whose eligibility to serve as commander in chief under article II of the U.S. Constitution remains unproven.

"Based on the evidence available, his conviction is certain," Puckett told WND. "He has no affirmative defense for the offenses he committed."

"There is not much left to do" in defense of his client, Puckett said. Lakin's previous defense counsel, Paul Jensen, already "sought discovery of documents, and to introduce evidence and expert witnesses, but the judge shut down all those efforts."

What is this? Nazi Germany??

I'm not a lawyer, but I must admit that I have never heard of a judge "shutting down all efforts" for a person to present evidence in his defense.

During a September hearing, Colonel Denise Lind, the judge in the case, censored the last remaining arguments Lakin planned to make in his defense: motive and duty. Lakin had intended to explain his motive for disobeying the order and contend that it was his duty as a good soldier to disobey orders that he believed to be illegal.

Lind also rejected defense requests to call as witnesses Ambassador Alan Keyes and retired Air Force Lt. Gen. Thomas McInerney. Keyes was to explain the constitutional issues involved in the case, and McInerney was to talk about the training soldiers receive regarding when they should question and even disobey orders.

Stripped by the court of all possible defenses that might have justified his actions, Lakin has no chance of prevailing at trial.

To me, this is a very strange turn of events. Perhaps the military "justice" system can legally twist things in order to do this to an honorable army surgeon, but is it right? I certainly don't think so!

You need to read the entire article for all of the details. However, there is one ray of hope in the end:

Once guilt or innocence has been determined by his jurors, the trial will move to a presentencing hearing, when Lakin will have an unfettered opportunity to introduce mitigating evidence that might justify his disobedience in spite of Judge Lind's limitations on the scope of the trial.

"If he were to be convicted, he would have an open microphone to talk to the panel of jurors," said Puckett.

An open microphone to talk to the panel of jurors might break the eligibility issue wide open. Unless the Lamestream media still refuses to cover it.

I agree with the conclusion of the article:

"Every American should support Lakin," said Arizona organizer Jeff Lichter, a retired high school physical education teacher. "Don't we all have a simple right to ask who our president is? Is he legitimate, is he qualified? That's all Terry is asking. He has every right to ask the question, he asked it for a long time before he went public.

"They're not even going to allow him to put up any evidence, We feel the trial is already rigged, and they're denying him his due process rights, He's been denied access to records in Hawaii. He's been told by Judge Lind that the orders he's refusing to obey came from the Pentagon, not the commander in chief, so his question whether the commander in chief is eligible is irrelevant. It's ridiculous. It's all fixed."

Lichter's rallies will take place at the state offices of Arizona Republican senators John McCain, and Richard Kyl, and U.S. Rep. Trent Franks, R-Ariz.

"We have 535 congressmen and none are ready to ask for an investigation of this issue? We just want these officials who have not kept their oaths to defend the constitution. They're not doing it," said Lichter.

"Nobody has been able to break what's apparently a cover-up of this issue. We want people to know about this in spite of the media blackout."

Before I get to the topic at hand, I have to wonder - where have all of my detractors gone? Most likely, they are all still alive and well just not commenting here as often as they used to anymore (except for GMpilot).

While viewing my stats today, I was surprised to see 17 newcomers from the "I Own The World" blog visit here. Apparently, Talk Wisdom was one of the site's largest referrers.

There are always so many blogs with important and interesting articles in my sidebar. It is difficult for me to keep up with them all.

The latest Wikileaks document dump is quite the concern. Makes me shake my head in disbelief! Just whose fault is it that supposedly classified documents are being "leaked" to the world? Is this being done purposely? Perhaps by the USURPER ObaMarxist and his destroy-America-first agenda? Who knows??

While reading Citizen Wells latest post about Obama eligibility misinformation being told to the public, I ran across an email in the comment section that I think should go viral. Therefore, I am sharing a copy of it here:

America Witnesses the Downfall of “Obama”

Yes, America, you are watching while Washington attempts to right itself and Obama self-destructs. What does a country and its citizens do as their nation continues to decline in power, financial stability and security of its people? We at Stand Up America shout aloud that we the people must stay strong and help right the national ship.

The Declaration of Independence states:

“To secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, that whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to affect their Safety and Happiness.”

The ship has been righted to some degree by the November elections but so much more needs to be done.

We cannot permit the current leaders in the White House and Halls of Congress to continue in their efforts to lead us down the road of Progressive Socialism and global government initiatives. In our opinion, President Obama, his appointees and his czars must be replaced immediately.

This is the current battle that we Constitutionalists face and we must be aggressive in our efforts. Obama will continue to by pass Congress in his progressive agenda and issue extensive Executive Orders. Congress, you must stand tall for the American people and enjoin the Supreme Court to halt Executive branch violations of law and the Constitution.

Incompetence, corruption and Dishonesty of officials now come into play as relates to our National Security and Economy and is the rationale for resignations and a change of government. My emphasis in this article will be a continued plea for Americans to Demand Resignation of these officials by the people of this country.

We are at a point that if Demand Resignations and a new Congressional make up do change the direction of the country then we must proceed to Impeachment and a serious transfer of Power at the highest levels of government. Obama’s eligibility to be President must be totally vetted to confirm his legitimacy.

Lincoln issued this warning in his inaugural address:

“Any people anywhere, being inclined and having the power, have the right to rise up and shake off the existing government and form a new one. This is a most valuable and sacred right – a right which we hope and believe is to liberate the world.”

Being a representative republic, not a democracy, and “rising up” means other than revolution by use of arms. The people must “rise up” (Stand Up as we say now) from the grass roots across this great country as we think of the greater good of this and future generations. We are limited in the peaceful transfer of power…resignation, elections, and impeachment.

The oath is simple and reads:

“I do solemnly swear that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic, that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same, that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion, and that I will faithfully discharge the duties of the office on which I am about to enter: So help me God.”

Sadly, we have seen them violate their oath. Fraud, lying, and corruption are rampant and some have engaged in treasonous activities, and they effectively thumb their noses at us and have sold you to the highest bidder.

The Articles of Confederation were replaced with the Constitution, which granted the federal government enough authority to cultivate, promote and secure the Blessings of Liberty. The balance of authority and individual liberty was understood. Power was confined to that which was enumerated in the Constitution with a certain and meaningful intent for check and balances.

Article One, S5, CII and the 10th Amendment provides the authority but this has been trumped by a system that rewards the powerful. In 1803 each congressional district averaged 38,476 people. In 2010 it is forecast to exceed 710,000. These numbers indicate power growth, and it effectively grew eight fold in the 20th century alone. No wonder our representatives seek to stay in office so long.

Power, money and benefits beyond the reach of most Americans are the basis now for many politicians and revolving door appointees staying in office. They must be termed out. With incumbency comes power. The party in the majority assigns power, so a long-term sitting representative can expect such power. A representative expected to stay in office in the 3rd Congress for approximately two years now expects 12 years, or 6 terms – so much for a “citizen government.”

But this can be changed through grass roots organization and discourse. We must make it a local imperative and movement….of the People…by the People… and for the People.

“We, the People” have had enough.
Enough is Enough.

The Obama White House and identifiable Members of Congress are now on a progressive socialist and treasonous death march and are bankrupting the country beyond expectations. We have watched them violate their sacred oath of office. “We, the People” cannot necessarily wait for the next round of elections. It is now that many of these public servants (and you know who they are) must put the people and country interests above self-interest by resigning immediately.

A civil uprising is still not out of the question as “pain” grips the country more each day. I am confident resignations will be forthcoming based on the efforts of the people. The 2010 vote is critical. This means raising your voice now to your neighbors, family, co-workers, and friends. Grass roots efforts have begun; it is now time to put this effort into over drive. America, stand tall together and we will weather the storm but we must act now!

Obama's Epic Failure

Time is short for blogging this morning, so I will simply link to a must-read article. Mr. Lame Cherry has done it again! His exclusive blog posts rival the best well-known and highly trafficked conservative blogs out there (many of which are on my blog roll). His rhetoric is admittedly unusual at times, but the content is what matters the most anyway.

I have often surmised that Obama was not-so-secretly at war with our American military, and Lame Cherry shares some details.

Excerpts:

What needs to be addressed is my exclusives concerning McChrystal, Patraeus, the Gulf and Obama, in how this all ties into Spike Lee Obama kicking ass not of terrorists, but of the American military.

Rolling Stone had alerted Obama long ago this was coming what McChrystals staff was spouting off about. The regime crafted this Obama to look leaderlike as he needed it over how bad he looked in the Gulf.
Obama though looks worse in kicking out gunslinger McChrystal.

I really would have it that the talkers on the right would quit bashing Rolling Stone, the liberal reporter and stating that McChrystal never stated the things in the interview.

As no one else reported this, the Stones representative was on Charlie Rose and when Rose was pointing out that McChrystal never said those things, the guy just grinned which Rose picked up on and said, "THERE ARE WORSE THINGS OFF THE RECORD MCCHRYSTAL SAID?"

The Stones reporter affirmed just that. If liberals think that the McChrystal staff and McChyrstal were saying bad things about the regime, what could not be printed was a thousand times more damning.

That needs repeating in McChrystal gathered around him like minds who voted for Obama, but they had just as thin skins in being hammered by Biden, and were retaliating I firmly believe knowing they would be sacked, because they finally figured out Obama is going to make them a scapegoat for losing the war like Vietnam.If you visit Jonathan Alter's book, you find Obama was portrayed as the guy standing around telling the McChrystal and company that it was no longer 2001 and Obama was putting them on the short leash, WOOF WOOF!
Compare that with McChrystal's assessment of Obama being a scared little boy around grown up officers.

Who do you believe as one of them is lying? McChrystal is telling the facts and Obama is lying. We know this because when Holbrooke and the Hillary boys were chanting the Obama line, they ran into Patraeus and company and in one meeting those officers had Holbrooke stuttering, star struck and wide eyed, chanting not Obama mantras, but Bush policy.
Holbrooke has made a Carter catastrophe out of the central East, but do not think this is Holbrooke alone or the idiot ambassador. This is Obama Brzezinski policy deliberately imploding the region and as typical of Obama, Holbrooke is terrified he is going to be fired for implementing what Obama wants destroyed.

Liberals you had better not miss this exclusive fact in Obama eats his own. He ate Blagojevich, Spitzer, Paterson, Dodd, that security guy no one knew was in the government, British Petroleum and the loveliest of all in Richard Holbrooke.

Jon Voight's name is misspelled in the next paragraph excerpt:

So as John Voit has correctly pointed out that Obama has created Civil War in America, uncivil war against Jews, there must be noted that Obama has started another war, not against Muslim terrorists, but Obama is at war with the United States military.

Hey, the last Marxist who was cleaning officer house like this was Joe Stalin in wiping out his best officers just before World War II.

That is fitting as World War III is on the horizon and Obama is setting the United States up and Europe for epic battle defeats.

So, if you are wondering why McCrystal would allow such an article released via Rolling Stone, all the while knowing that he would get fired (a.k.a. "asked" to resign) perhaps the explanation is as simple as this:

In review, Obama has lost Iraq when it was won, Obama has lost Afghanistan when it was stabilized. Obama has lost Pakistan when it was an ally of America in now it's terrorists are coming to America. Obama has lost the war on his Gulf Gusher.

That is the explanation of what has been going on behind the scenes. McChrystal was saying worse than what his staff was. It was true, but then McChrystal wanted out to save himself from hisself.

The net loser again is the US Soldier. The US Soldiers who are now confronting Iran on the high seas for the Jews who Obama slapped around, when the Jews are capable of blowing their own enemies out of the water. The US Soldiers dying now in mass around the world due to Obama endangering them.

With the mess that Obama puppet and his evil puppeteers have made, why shouldn't Obama party and golf his time in office away?

That is why Obama is vacationing and having rock concerts, as he is fleeing the job and seeking only pleasure and adoration. Obama is held hostage. McChrystal and his staff know this, and that is what they were stating as they jumped the Obama ship as she is sinking.

Vandals Tore Down the 76 Year-Old Mojave Cross

So...this is how those who lose a Supreme Court case against the existence of a cross in the Mojave Desert to honor the service and sacrifice of Veterans who gave their lives in the service and protection of our country act in revenge?

DESPICABLE!!

I hope and pray that the vandals are caught, arrested, tried and jailed for their acts of desecration to a Christian symbol at the graves of the war dead.

Red Flags Up All Over this Obama "Deployment" [UPDATES]

I would love to hear a body language expert analyze the above photo. Perhaps we really don't need an expert - just our own gut instincts and observation - to express what is going on in the photo.

First, the cadet with the "Kill Bin Laden" book. Priceless! The cadet has his right index finger pointing towards those words on the book cover. His left hand holds the book so that everyone can see the title of the book. Does everyone recall how Obama, during his campaign run, railed on President Bush for not "getting" Bin Laden? Now, did we hear ANYTHING about Obama pledging to get Bin Laden during the last 11 months of his bogus POTUS torture being inflicted upon our own nation?

Answer: No!

Next, look at the face of the cadet near Obama's right arm in the photo. What kind of look is that? It appears to be a look of contempt. I get the feeling that his body language is also saying, "don't you dare come near me, Obama." He obviously doesn't like him.

It is hard to tell what the young man behind the cadet with the mad look on his face is expressing in his body language. He does have his eyes on Obama, but we can't tell if he is smiling or frowning.

It appears that the cadet (who is hidden by Obama's body) is giving a high-five type of handshake. At least Obama had one fan in the audience! LOL

There is a cadet (behind the book holder) who has his right hand touching his chin. I forget (from what I have previously learned via Tanya Reiman's analyses on the O'Reilly Factor show) what that kind of gesture means. He doesn't appear to be smiling. Neither does the cadet to the left of him (on the right top portion of the photo).

There are red flags up all over this Obama "deployment" of United States Soldiers and Soldiers of other nations into his Afnamistan.

The first of which is Obama at West Point almost chanted "as your commander in chief" at the cadets. That reveals immense weakness in Obama if he has to be Manchurian candidating American Soldiers, like pleading, "I am your wife you must love me!"

The cadets as this blog noted were an unhappy lot. The intelligent ones were studying Obama and judging him. Most though had the look in their eyes of misted regrets in knowing Bowbama had decided their lives by dumping them into his Afnamistan.

The above cadet reading a book was the ultimate slap coupled with the bored cadet. Obama's captive audience had committed the Great Escape while he lectured at them from the podium.

The worst of this Obama deployment is as this blog exclusively noted, is this is giving every sign to be a stage act which is murdering US Soldiers just so Obama can "win the day" in the 2010 Pelosi elections and win the war in 2011 for his re election.

Murdering Soldiers for political dynasty is disgusting and criminal.

A further affirmation of this Obama politics of using a crisis war he created was observed in the Joint Chief appearing on Charlie Rose, and nowhere did this military leader speak of fighting a war. His entire change was "stability" to Afghanistan.
That is Freudian in every measure, because Mike Mullen knows very well there is nothing in Afghanistan which can not be squashed with minimum force. The JC is by psychological slip speaking the facts that there is nothing there for a over one hundred thousand troops to do, but die in terror attacks.

All that needs to be done as the JC noted was to bribe the Taliban and kill off some al Qaeda which the JC really screwed up on in giving Bush credit in noting they have been diminished.

Mr. Obama in his sadistic Chicago slick willy attacks on President Bush's leadership which was perfectly successful in the two wars, will not appreciate the JC slipping up and telling the world there is nothing to fight in Afghanistan as Bush wiped out al Qaeda in mass.

Mr. Obama though has more of a problem as Sec. of Defense Donald Rumsfeld today called Obama the liar he is in Obama lying to the cadets and the American people, that no troop requests were granted in Afghanistan.

Mr. Rumsfeld would know the war as he designed it to be fought on Caspar Weinberger deliberate terms with Dick Cheney, meaning, Donald Rumsfeld limited troops in harms way to reduce casualties as there was not a need to deploy mass troops in Afghanistan.

The commanders knew this and the world knew this, and yet Obama lied to the world at West Point and made it sound like the Bush Administration was not fighting nor maintaining Afghanistan.

Interesting conclusion:

In the light of what is called “The Birther” movement, these memories are still foremost in my mind concerning this. While I cannot swear it was Barak Obama, all the details I do remember of that chance encounter fit the profile of the man who some people claim is born in Kenya and others claim he was born in Hawaii . The man I met was about 18, thin, Mulatto, told me he was born in Mombassa, raised overseas, was living in Hawaii and hadn’t yet been to many places in the world outside of those places, mostly, hadn’t been to the mainland of America for any long time period if at all. And he openly told me he wanted to be President.

And I remember that face, the face of a young man who sat on a table to my right front, his hands resting on the edge of the table, him leaning forward, his smile, all teeth. It was Barak Obama. I don’t know if I’d bet my life on it, but I am willing to tell people openly at the risk of my ridicule. I was there, and saw him, spoke to him, and he openly told me he was born in Mombassa, Kenya, not Hawaii .

Does it matter? Of course it does. It should not have to be explained as to why it matters.

Obama Sets Up Our Military to Fail

Is it just me, or did anyone else notice that the only applause Obama got during that terribly weak speech last night was when he praised (paraphrased here) 'our brave soldiers working hard in the field to keep our nation safe'; and then finally when the speech was over? Oh wait - my paraphrase sounds more like something that President George W. Bush would say...and has said over the eight years of his presidency. I will need to look at the transcript to see what Obama actually said.

At the conclusion of the weak sermon...I mean "speech", the young cadets at West Point were probably clapping because they were glad that Obama was done preaching at them!

Didn't most of what Obama said sound condescending and preachy? I noticed that Obama especially targeted those who might disagree with (the silly title of) his "overseas contingency operation" decision. He verbally pointed his finger at the American people in the T.V. audience; blasting our objections to his stupid non-winning plan even before we had the chance to express them after the speech. After all, Obama is all about protecting his image - more than anything (like, OUR NATION!) or anyone (like, OUR SOLDIERS, MARINES, AIRMEN, AND NAVY!) else.

Did you hear him say anything about winning the war over there? I didn't. Did you hear him say the word "victory" even once? How utterly PATHETIC!!

The looks on the faces of the cadets must have mirrored what the American people were feeling as we all watched just another one of Obama's excruciatingly painful stage shows on parade in the West Point venue. I didn't see any smiles. I didn't see any looks of confidence in this bogus POTUS being evident on the cadet's faces. I didn't see any looks of feeling that Obama GENUINELY CARES about our military - except for maybe that brief moment when Obama read the words off of his teleprompter that someone else inevitably wrote for him to say.

Isn't it creepy that the guy doesn't seem to have any real emotion(s) to express when he's up there lecturing all of us Americans?

At church this last Sunday, Pastor Miles McPherson did a wrap-up on his body language series of sermons. One point that stands out (and applies here) is the fact that most people share only 7% of what they really mean and are thinking - in a verbal manner; whereas the other 93% is done through body language.

What does Obama's body language say?

I'm no expert, but I can trust my gut and say how his words and dour, unemotional body language made me feel.

I, as well as millions of other Americans are NOT confident in his ability to be Commander in Chief; and we are legitimately and highly worried that he is sending more troops into Afghanistan just for the purpose of being able to say that he "listened" to his military commanders in the field.

But what is this horribly weak strategy telling us? Reader, what is your gut feeling about it all?

This morning, during the Congressional hearings on the war, John McCain asked how is it that Obama can set a date for withdrawal from Afghanistan in 18 months without giving the American people pause about his commitment to win there? It's either one or the other!!

This continuing, sickening nightmare of an administration is just too much to listen to anymore. I'm about ready to turn off my radio, T.V. and Internet so that I can enjoy a Blessed Christmas season, concentrate on, and celebrate one of the greatest moments (the second was Christ's Resurrection) in world history - the birth of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

There will most likely be hundreds of blog posts about the speech last night. However, one of the best that I have read so far is at The Obama File: Setting Up Our Military To Fail. It is where I got the title for this post. [Hat tip and thanks to The Obama File.]

Col. Ralph Peters asks, if Obama will send 30,000 more troops to Afghanistan, but, "begin the transfer of our forces out of Afghanistan in July of 2011," then why send them?

If you're going to tell the Taliban to be patient because we're leaving, what's the point in upping the blood ante? For what will come down to a single year by the time the troops hit the ground? Does Obama really expect to achieve in one year what we haven't been able to do in more than eight?

After eight years of failure to create effective Afghan security forces and a responsible government, does anyone believe we can do it in 12 to 18 months?

"Target the insurgency"? Does that mean our soldiers will finally be permitted to go after our enemies and kill them? Nope. Those troops are going to "secure population centers." We'll be passive and let the enemy choose where and when to strike.

When fighting insurgents and terrorists, if you're not slamming them up against the wall and breaking their bones, you're losing. Obama isn't sending more troops -- he's sending more targets.

Adding to the confusion, Obama qualified his timeline by insisting that "we will execute this transition responsibly, taking into account conditions on the ground." If conditions of the ground are key, why announce a pullout date?

Obama is setting up our military to fail -- but he'll be able to claim that he gave the generals what they wanted. Failure will be their fault. He's covering his strong-on-security flank, even as he plays to our white-flag wavers. His cynicism's worthy of a Saddam. Does he really believe that young Afghans are going to line up to join the army and police knowing that we plan to abandon them in mid-2011?

Does the 2012 election ring a bell?

This isn't just stupid: It's immoral. No American president has ever espoused such a worthless, self-absorbed non-strategy for his own political gratification.

On the other hand, the stage lighting and the camera angles at West Point were terrific, Obama's delivery was superb -- but what he was delivering was a funeral oration.

Simon Jenkins, writing in the Guardian (UK), believes Obama has no stomach for this fight, and his "strategy" is a frantic bid to rescue what promises to be a stumbling re-election campaign that must start in 2011. It oozes with his desperation not to be in Afghanistan.

I'll go further. Obama's "strategy" is nuts! His goals are to "deny al Qaeda a safe haven," and to bribe the Taliban to lay down their arms.

The only way to deny al Qaeda a safe haven is to invade Pakistan -- and he's not going to do that -- and you can't bribe a "true believer."

Obama used the word "I" 45 times in his pompous, political, and pathetic speech, but he never once uttered the words "win" or "victory."

In a related event, Chris Matthews, commenting on the speech, referred to the United States Military Academy, at West Point, as "the enemy camp," providing more evidence that MSNBC is, in fact, "the enemy camp."

Now that I got all of that off my chest, I am taking a deep breath and going over to the links included in The Obama File post.

I grieve deeply for our nation today. I grieve for our military to be in the hands of an incompetent dolt who pretends to listen to his military commanders, but cuts in half the amount of troops needed for victory. (McCrystal asked for 40,000 - 60,000). All we can do is continue to pray that God will keep us safe until this bogus POTUS and horrible Congress (2010 Congressional elections can't get here soon enough!!!) are all booted out of office!!

It sounds like a slow-motion Dunkirk, and it recalls what Winston Churchill had to say after being congratulated for rescuing the entire British Army and a good portion of the French Army in 1940 from that massive cross-Channel evacuation: “Wars are not won by evacuations.” And apparently Obama agrees, since he didn’t bother to talk about victory at all, but instead treated it as a massive responsibility that he reluctantly will fulfill.

One Of My Worst Fears [Added Links]

Ever since the horrendous terrorist attack that occurred on U.S. soil on 9/11/01 by radical Islamic terrorists, one of my worst fears has been infiltration of terrorist individuals (or cells) here in the United States. Why should we ever believe that they aren't already here? They have been for some time.

Yesterday was a shock beyond belief. It was the worst terrorist attack perpetrated against our military on a military base here in the United States. I could not sleep last night! I kept waking up and turning on the T.V. for more news about the murderer.

Sometimes, I have found that it is better for other people to give details rather than express my own thoughts and worries on the matter. The following two links are not the usual politically correct spin that you will most likely hear on the MSM news broadcasts. At least Fox News has been more up front about the possible motive. Bill Hemmer reported that the shooter yelled "Allah Akbar" before gunning down 44 people. Personally, I think that the details coming forward now show that the man was a radical Islamic terrorist. Whether he was radicalized after being in the army (or before 9/11) or after is what might need to be investigated.

6 November 2009: The shooting attack at Ft. Hood Thursday by a Muslim soldier is anything but an isolated incident. It is the latest in a series of attacks by Muslim soldiers who have violated their oath to protect and defend this country, instead placing their allegiance in the religion, culture and political system known as Islam. Even if it is ultimately determined that Nidal Malik HASAN was the sole perpetrator in this mass murder, there are co-conspirators.

The co-conspirators are each and every politician, policymaker and pundit who has force-fed the American people the lie that Islam “is a religion of peace” or is a “religion hijacked. Whether it is for the shallow purposes of political expediency, political correctness or just plain naiveté, those who espouse and advance this perilous view have their share of innocent blood on their hands.

The latest murderous rampage should be sufficient to illustrate that Islam is totally incompatible with freedom, democracy and Western culture. Faced with the choice between upholding their oath to the United States and advancing Islam by any means possible, it will always be the latter. There are some who contend - with a straight face, no less - that “Post Traumatic Stress Disorder” (PTSD) might be the cause for HASAN’s murder spree. The only “stressors” in this case would result from attempting to reconcile the irreconcilable.

If the mass murder at Ft. Hood yesterday is not convincing enough, how about the March 23, 2003 grenade attack by Muslim Sgt. Hasan Karim Akbar that killed Army Captain Christopher Seifert and Air Force Major Gregory Stone and wounded 14 others? Or the June 1st, 2009 shooting attack at the Little Rock recruiting center by 23 year-old Muslim Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad, who killed two officers?

Of course, the treachery is not just limited to murder. While serving as a naval signalman on board the USS Benfoldin the months following the attack on the USS Cole, Hassan Abujihaad (a/k/a Paul R. Hall) actively provided Islamic terrorists with sensitive information about the location of Navy ships and their weaknesses. He also discussed sniper attacks on military personnel and attacks on U.S. military recruitment sites with Muslim terrorists as well. For his crimes, Abujihaad is currently serving a ten-(10) year sentence.

There is also U.S. Army captain James “Yousef” LEE, the former Muslim chaplain charged with espionage while serving at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. YEE was arrested at a U.S. airport on charges of espionage after he was caught in possession of detailed maps of the detention facility along with other classified materials. In addition to YEE, two other Islamic Arabic translators stationed at Guantanamo were convicted of unauthorized possession of classified documents.

Ultimately, the U.S. Army opted not to proceed with the espionage charges against YEE due to national security concerns arising from the evidence that would be made available to the public at the trial.Nonetheless, the facts are the facts.

The common thread here is Islam. Allowing Muslims to serve in the U.S. military in 2009 makes as much sense as if we would have allowed Nazi’s to serve in our armed forces in 1939. It would have been lunacy then, and its lunacy now.

Some like Hasan have killed, or tried to kill, their fellow soldiers. Others have infiltrated the military in order to undermine it and aid and comfort the enemy.

According to an explosive new book, "Muslim Mafia: Inside the Secret Underworld That's Conspiring to Islamize America," Hasan is just the tip of a jihadist Fifth Column operating within the ranks of the U.S. military – which is too blinded by political correctness to see the threat.

Security officials at Gitmo have been investigating a possible new spy ring involving several "dirty" Arabic linguists who are accused among other things of:

omitting valuable intelligence from their translations of detainee interrogations;


slipping notes to detainees inside copies of the Quran;


coaching detainees to make allegations of abuse against interrogators; and


meeting with suspects on the terrorist watch list while traveling back in the United States.

More than 75 former Gitmo detainees have returned to the battlefield or anti-American jihad. Some met with the suspect Muslim translators. Others were privately counseled by chaplains also under investigation for security breaches.

Gitmo security officials recently met with FBI agents in Philadelphia to aid their investigation into one of the Muslim linguists under contract at Gitmo, according to sources quoted in the book who are familiar with the investigation.

They also this summer briefed members of Congress about the prison camp's internal security breaches, according to "Muslim Mafia," which is co-authored by former federal agent P. David Gaubatz and investigative journalist Paul Sperry, author of "Infiltration: How Muslim Spies and Subversives Have Penetrated Washington," which is being used by law enforcement and the military.

"Three years of investigations have revealed the presence of pro-jihad/anti-Western activities among the civilian contractor and military linguist population serving Joint Task Force Guantanamo," states a copy of the classified Gitmo briefing, which was prepared in May 2009 for the FBI and CIA, as well as the congressional intelligence committees.

The president should apologize for the tone of his remarks, explain what has happened, express sympathy for those slain and appeal for calm and patience until all the facts are in. That's the least that should occur.

Indeed, an argument could be made that Obama should have canceled the Indian event, out of respect for people having been murdered at an Army post a few hours before. That would have prevented any sort of jarring emotional switch at the event.

Did the president's team not realize what sort of image they were presenting to the country at this moment? The disconnect between what Americans at home knew had been going on -- and the initial words coming out of their president's mouth was jolting, if not disturbing.

I must admit, I had the same, sick-to-my-stomach reaction when Obama showed just how soulless he really can be...

Fort Hood Shooter - Muslim Terrorist

Michael Savage is on a verbal rampage over the shooting massacre at Fort Hood in Texas. Can't blame him. Shortly after the shootings were reported, some T.V. news stations hastily discounted that it was a terrorist attack.

It was odd that Fox News' Shepard Smith was reluctant to report the name of the shooter (who was killed) or the fact that he was a recent convert to Islam [update: it is now reported that he has been a Muslim his entire life].

A caller to Savage's radio show (a retired military officer who was a chaplain) explained that a man who was formerly Muslim - but converted to Christianity - confirmed that in Islam, those who do not convert are infidels and targets of Muslims. The former Muslim ADMITTED THIS FACT to the chaplain!!

There are many blogs reporting on this horrible incident. See my sidebar. However, I found a piece of information via The Obama File that no one else seems to be reporting (yet).

Breaking! -- Major Malik Nadal Hasan Kills 12 And Wounds 31 -- Breaking!

At least two accomplices, also soldiers, were arrested at Ft. Hood, Texas.

The shooter, who was killed, was a major in the US Army from Virginia -- a convert to Islam.

Army Times reports that Hasan was an Army psychiatrist.

Maj. General Robert Scales (ret) is reporting that his sources inside the military say this was a deliberate act.

As usual, and before any investigation, the FBI says it has nothing to do with terrorism.

AP is reporting there were "dual shootings" -- more than one shooter -- possibly three.

Texas Governor Rick Perry said there were three shooters.

Military authorities are still hunting for others.
