More “Free-Speech” Sleight-of-Hand From Obama Regime

With all the news coverage on Hurricane Irene, it might be easy to miss one of the more recent sleight-of-hand tactics recently employed by the Obamafraud regime.


Recall the Fairness Doctrine. One commentator over at NewsBusters said it well:

The "Fairness Doctrine" has nothing to do with fairness. It is to protect the speech of radical minorities and overpower those who promote rational debate.

It has been pushed upon the American people since way back in 1949 by the progressive loonies who thought that Americans wouldn't notice their deceitful practices. To be brief, the Fairness Doctrine was a misnomer that claimed talk radio needed to be balanced by providing the same amount of lefty progressive commentators as there are right conservative commentators. It was imposed to ensure the broadcasters gave equal time to differing political opinions.

The trouble is, when implemented, the lefty talk shows had far fewer listeners than the conservative ones anyway! Many of the failed progressive radio shows were cancelled. Therefore, demanding that "equal time to differing political opinions" be imposed made the loony lefties think that they would get the upper hand in talk radio.


The Obama gangster government tried to instill this stupid doctrine, once again, earlier in the beginning of this regime. Didn't work. Too many people were on to them and prevented the FCC from implementing it again.


Fast forward to August, 2011. It was announced by the FCC (Federal Communications Commission) that the "the Fairness Doctrine is now officially dead." Sounds good, right? Not so fast! Take a look at this email letter I recently received that tells the truth of the matter:

More “free-speech” sleight-of-hand is coming from the Obama Administration. Early this week, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) announced they were doing away with what we have called the Censorship Doctrine - the so-called “Fairness” Doctrine. This federal doctrine, a relic from 1949, was imposed to ensure the broadcasters gave equal time to differing political opinions.

Great news, right? Not so fast . . .

According to Media Research Center founder Brent Bozell, the FCC “deserves one-handed applause” for the move. Before striking the politically volatile “Fairness Doctrine,” the FCC implemented rules of “localism,” “media diversity,” and a nebulous requirement to “serve the public interest.” All designed to empower the FCC to limit speech they don’t like.
As Brent points out, “the path to censor radio airwaves has been long paved through the back door.”

+ + Speech isn’t free if it’s under government control

The FCC is making a big deal about the repeal of the “Fairness Doctrine, because they have put other tools in place to accomplish the same goals. Among others, these tools are “localism” and “diversity.”

Christine, under the nefarious concept of localism, unelected and unaccountable statists at the FCC could in regulate how much time broadcasters must dedicate to so-called local issues (as defined by the FCC) – in effect limiting the amount of time they can give to programming their listeners want to hear.

Under government mandated “diversity” in station ownership, a station owner could have his application to renew his license denied for no reason other than there being a lack of minority owned stations in their listening area. Across the rest of the federal government the people working as affirmative action bean counters have consistently shown that their ultra left-wing belief system takes priority over the rule of law.

Generations of American soldiers, sailors and marines didn’t die so that the First Amendment could be repealed by overpaid government employees at the FCC. These regulations do not exist for their stated purpose. They exist only a sneaky means for leftists in the permanent federal bureaucracy to control what the American people can hear.

The threats of government control and censorship are alive and well in the U.S. The free speech rights of EVERY American are threatened -- not to mention the fate of political free speech on radio airwaves!

Liberals know that silencing us will help them to advance their socialist agenda -- unchallenged and under the radar.

Buffett and Soros - The Lefty Billionaires Ruining America [Update]

I must admit that I didn't really know very many details about Warren Buffett, except the fact that he has amassed $50 billion in assets. But a post over at GOP USA - Patton: Buffett a Kinder Gentler Soros? caught my eye and thought I'd share it here for my readers.

"The largest single barrier to full employment of our manpower and resources, and to a higher rate of economic growth, is the unrealistically heavy drag of federal income taxes on private purchasing power, initiative and incentive." - President John F. Kennedy in a special message to Congress on tax reduction and reform Jan. 24, 1963

It is one of the great political lies of modern American life that the ultra-wealthy are all conservative Republicans. If only it were true. Take Warren Buffett, for instance. He is one of the wealthiest men in the world, with a personal fortune estimated at approximately $50 billion. He has been an investor for six decades. As a businessman, you would think he was conservative. Well, you would be wrong.

Buffett is a hard core, left wing Democrat, a fiscal and social liberal of the first order. He is a staunch believer in big government, high taxes and all the failed dogma that goes along with it. One of his favorite causes is subsidizing abortion. Because he buys into the lie that the earth is overpopulated, he supports, promotes and funds radical population control measures all around the world.

When Arnold Schwarzenegger ran for governor of California the first time, he tapped Buffett to be his economic advisor. (This should have told us all we needed to know about the kind of left-wing Republican Arnold would turn out to be.) During that campaign, Buffett was fond of telling the press that he pays more in property taxes on his $500,000 home in Omaha than he does on his $3 million home in California.

Unfortunately, the statement was not meant to convey that California taxes are too high. Quite the contrary; it was intended as a lament that California’s property taxes were not as confiscatory as Nebraska’s — which, of course, they would be had California voters not put a lid on them back in the 1970s.

Similarly, Buffett writes in his recent opinion piece in The New York Times that his hired help pays a higher rate of taxation than he does. Yet rather than demanding lower taxes for them, he calls for higher taxes on himself and his rich cronies.

Buffett’s hypocrisy is legendary. He writes that he wants to be taxed more, yet he goes globetrotting around the world trying to convince his peers to leave their fortunes to tax exempt foundations — like he does.

Buffett takes a paltry $100,000 annual salary. Any additional compensation comes to him and his uber-rich buddies in ways that are taxed at lower rates, as written in the tax code. That, of course, is their choice, yet Buffett blames Congress for “coddling” him.

“These and other blessings,” Buffett writes facetiously, “are showered upon us by legislators in Washington who feel compelled to protect us, much as if we were spotted owls or some other endangered species. It’s nice to have friends in high places.”

I’m sure it is, and one of Warren’s favorite “friends” is none other than President Barack Obama himself. He has encouraged Obama in his reckless spending and socialist nanny state policies; now he is mustering support for the inevitable taxes that always go hand in hand with such irresponsibility.

The big question is this: Why doesn’t Warren Buffett simply write a check for $50 billion to the U.S. Treasury? Why not? If he has such faith in government, why is he sheltering most of his wealth from taxation while keeping it in private hands?

Could it be because he knows that Barack Obama would literally spend in a week what it has taken Buffett a lifetime to accumulate? Could it be that Buffett knows that if Obama confiscated all the assets of every American taxpayer making more than $200,000 a year, he'd run out of money long before his term ends on January 20, 2013?

The Oracle of Omaha, as Buffett is fond of being called, likes to be thought of as a geriatric Wall Street rock star. In reality, he is just a kinder, gentler version of wicked old George Soros.

Finding out that his “hypocrisy is legendary,” was a surprise after watching him go into his “the rich don’t pay enough taxes,” theatrics. Learning that he actually encourages his “uber-rich friends to put their money into tax exempt foundations,” was something else again. You wonder where these people get the colossal gall to put on such a theatrical performance. By all appearances it seems like Buffett just likes the attention he gets from pretending to be altruistic. It’s a shame too, for all the others who actually do spend a lot of their riches helping mankind.

I’ve thought for a long time that he was the most dangerous American alive today. Soros is the world’s most dangerous man alive but he’s not ours. Buffett made billions taking advantage of companies. He should be in jail instead of being admired. You’d think that some day either one or both of these fools would die of old age but I guess they’re not welcome either place.

Well I have a great idea on how you can make that happen completely independent of anything the government does, Warren. Start declaring all of your income, instead of taking the $100,000.00 token salary you take, so that all of your income can be taxed. Then when you go to fill out your tax return, simply take the standard deduction instead of itemizing. These two steps would guarantee that you’d pay millions more in additional taxes, and you wouldn’t need the government to lift a finger. Oh, wait…you can’t do that, huh? That would actually mean putting your money where your mouth (and unfortunately your foot) is and actually proving that you believe what you say. Unfortunately, as with all things liberal, it’s “Do as I say, not as I do.” If you truly believed the drivel you spew, you’d demonstrate some leadership and step up and take the actions I described to increase your own tax burden. The fact that you haven’t and show no signs of doing so indicates that you are simply a hypocrite trying to fit in with a whole left-wing army of them. Socialism doesn’t work, Mr. Buffett, and no amount of hypocritical crocodile tears over the “breaks” the rich get will make it work any sooner or any better.

Spare us the entire charade. The one common thread linking them all is; they have achieved their riches and will be damned if they will allow you to achieve yours. Look at the likes of Senators John Kerry and Jay Rockefeller then throw in a few independent thinkers like Lloyd Blankfein of Goldman Saks and of course the newest member to the club; FaceBooks Mark Zuckerberg.……They all whistle the same tune while sticking it to the rest of us under the guise of “regulation”. Joseph Stalin and Karl Marx would be so proud of the latest protégés.

August 23, 2011 @ 12:13 pm It is also of interest that Mr. Buffet has greatly benefited from the estate tax and is a big advocate of returning the exemption to $1 million. Why? His firm is able to purchase privately-held corporations at fire-sale prices when heirs must sell out to pay the estate taxes.
While part of the blame there lies with the owners of those corporations for not doing their estate planning, it is disingenuous to promote a tax that benefits yourself, while claiming it is for the good of the country. Especially when you consider that it will not affect him, either.

What About the BAC Deal?

Did Mr. Buffet make the investment in BAC based on Smithian self-interest? Or did he do it because it was in the interests of the ruling class?

Phoenix Capital Research questioned Buffet's recent BAC move from an investment perspective:

For starters, Buffett didn't even spend 24 hours studying BAC before buying it. And I can tell you point blank that no one, certainly not Buffett, has a clue about BAC's real balance sheet risk. The mere notion of due diligence or sound investing analysis here is absurd.

Moreover, the fact Buffett plowed $3-5 billion (depending on how the deal was structured) with so little research tells you what this was: a political move, and nothing more.

Buffet is terribly bright and shrewd despite the "aw shucks" Omaha mien. As a businessman, he is hard-nosed, despite his avuncular performances on CNBC and at stockholder meetings. He is analytical and does not make decisions without thorough analysis.

Phoenix reached the conclusion that:

The powers that be called on THE financial figurehead for the uber-bull crowd just as they did in September 2008 and October 2008 (the time of Buffett's "Buy America" op-ed in the New York Times).

To be sure, the whole thing smells of desperation. The fact Buffett didn't even buy BAC on the market but got a sweetheart deal only tells you how twisted the whole thing is (if he really thought BAC was a great deal why didn't he buy in the open market like the rest of us "high tax payers.").

It should be noted that Buffett's only other "quick" decision was an investment in Goldman Sachs back in September of 2008. The GS investment is still "underwater" after three years. What motivated this investment is also moot.

What's in It for Warren?

The BAC deal looks as if Mr. Buffett was asked to assist the oligarchy at his own expense. That is unlikely. Mr. Buffett has probably protected himself with some quid pro quo arrangement. What that might be is unknown, although that information may surface before this economic nightmare ends.

Many speculative possibilities exist. Here are four:

•Mr. Buffet as a high-profile individual is himself at risk. The government is now so powerful that it could, if it chose, wipe him out. His commitment to BAC may represent nothing more than an extortion payment to prevent or defer this outcome.
•Mr. Buffett is a major holder of Wells Fargo (WFC), another bank on shaky grounds. Had he increased his investment in WFC, it would not have had as dramatic an effect as stepping up for BAC. Perhaps the government promised to step in if (when) WFC requires a bailout.
•Mr. Buffet may have received some implicit government guarantee that backstops his investment in BAC, ensuring the continued solvency of the company.
•Berkshire Hathaway is a holding company with a large number of operating companies. Could any of these be in trouble? The recent stock performance may indicate so. Standard and Poor's recently downgraded Berkshire's insurance holdings from "stable" to "negative." Perhaps the government promised to assist Berkshire in the event of trouble.

Warren Buffett is no patsy. He is shrewd, smart, and motivated. The BAC deal was made only because it was in Mr. Buffett's interest to make it. The four possibilities above provide plausible reasons.

While it may have been in Buffett's interest, it was not in the Smithian concept of self-interest, at least for the rest of us.

Did Buffett Make a Mistake?

If Buffett's commitment were made for any reason other than the first one (extortion and survival), he may have made a mistake. As stated in my initial reaction to the announcement:

Big government types always assume that government is big enough to solve (or, more properly termed, "cover up") any problem. It is not. The banking system will be the Waterloo of this concept. The banking system is insolvent. In my opinion, the amount of money necessary to solve the problem exceeds government's resources. This cancerous growth on the economy will eventually kill the economy and the government.

A request to Mr. Buffett to intervene is consistent with the government's Kevorkian Economic strategy. It represents another way to "extend and pretend" the myth of an economic recovery. Government has solved none of the economic problems. The banking system is arguably in worse shape than it was in 2008. Using Mr. Buffett in this fashion is likely another desperate attempt to fool voters and investors.

There is no bailout or Federal Reserve action that can turn the economy around or save the financial system. Decades of interventions have destroyed both. An implosion is inevitable. The government is out of ammunition.

Ben Bernanke will eventually commit to some new QE3 monetary expansion but it will only make matters worse. The Ponzi scheme we know as government is bankrupt. We are entering the death throes of what was once a great and prosperous economy.

TEA Party Patriots in Congress Acted As a Check on the Power of the Executive Branch

And...the liberal leftists (especially all of those in the Media of Mass Deception who are also complicit in the lies against the TEA Party) who are trying to pin the S & P's downgrade and tanking stock market on the TEA Party, know that they are once again using the old Cloward and Piven and Alinsky Rules for Radicals methods to try and hide their evil plans (and, if they were decent people - their own guilt) in America's economic troubles.

When you know the truth, the truth will set you free.

However, it's going to hurt a bit to realize the truth.

Contrary to what the Obama Democrats claimed, the face-off in Congress did not mean that the nation’s politics were “dysfunctional”. The politics of the US were functioning precisely as the Founding Fathers intended: the legislature was acting as a check on the power of the executive.

Whenever Wasserman-Schultz made an appearance on the Fox News Channel, I would cringe. I knew that a lie against the GOP and/or an attack against a Republican was forthcoming. The woman has her mind so set in the mentally disordered liberal/progressive political sphere, it's a wonder if she ever utters any semblance of truth.

Recall how she stood up for Weiner during Weinergate? How could anyone take her seriously after that flub? Oh...but there is much more. Wasserman Schultz, in whose neighboring South Florida district West lives, provoked his tirade with remarks after he left the House floor today, in which she responded — without naming him — to the Tea Party freshman’s support for “Cut, Cap, and Balance” legislation to raise the debt ceiling.

“The gentleman from Florida. who represents thousands of Medicare beneficiaries, as do I, is supportive of this plan that would increase costs for Medicare beneficiaries, unbelievable from a Member from South Florida,” Wasserman Schultz said, saying the legislation “slashes Medicaid and critical investments essential to winning the future in favor of protecting tax breaks for Big Oil, millionaires, and companies who ship American jobs overseas.”

Exposing A Loony Leftist Lie

Ann Coulter has a great column up over at Human Events. Glenn Beck vs. The Mob

Liberals are not like most Americans. They are the biggest pussies on Earth, city-bred weaklings who didn't play a sport and have never been in a fight in their entire lives. Their mothers made excuses for them when they threw tantrums and spent way too much time praising them during toilet training.

I could draw a mug shot of every one of Beck's tormentors, and I wasn't there.

Beck and his family would have been fine at an outdoor rap concert. They would have been fine at a sporting event. They would have been fine at any paid event, mostly because people who work for the government and live in rent-controlled apartments would be too cheap to attend.

Only a sad leftist with a crappy job could be so brimming with self-righteousness to harangue a complete stranger in public.

A liberal's idea of being a bad-ass is to say vicious things to a conservative public figure who can't afford to strike back. Getting in a stranger's face and hurling insults at him, knowing full well he has too much at risk to deck you, is like baiting a bear chained to a wall.

They are not only exploiting our lawsuit-mad culture, they are exploiting other people's manners. I know I'll be safe because this person has better manners than I do.

These brave-hearts know exactly what they can get away with. They assault a conservative only when it's a sucker-punch, they outnumber him, or he can't fight back for reasons of law or decorum

Liberals don't get that when you're outnumbering the enemy 100-1, you're not brave.

But they're not even embarrassed. To the contrary, being part of the majority makes liberals feel great! Honey, wasn't I amazing? I stood in a crowd of liberals and called that conservative a c**t. Wasn't I awesome?

This is a liberal's idea of raw physical courage.

When someone does fight back, liberals transform from aggressor to victim in an instant collapsing on the ground and screaming bloody murder. I've seen it happen in a nearly empty auditorium when there was quite obviously no other human within 5 feet of the gutless invertebrate.

Heh heh heh! That Ann is something else! She always manages to inject a lot of humor while making critical talking points in her topic of choice! Many of her books deal with the truth about far-leftist liberals who fashion themselves to be angry-mob studs, when in reality they are more like slimy, smarmy slugs.

It's great to know that Glenn and his team have exposed the people who spilled wine on his wife and made disparaging comments in front of his daughter. They must be so proud...huh? They are getting their 5 minutes of fame. But what they probably don't realize is that when they grow up (if they ever put down the Obama Kool-Aid and wake up to reality), what they did that day to Mr. Beck and his family was mean and more embarrassing for them than the prospect of having that moment of fame. If they ever DO apply for a job or even get a job, I wonder how the future employer would feel about their stupid antics in the park?

Chopra Mocks Palin? ReasonandFaith1 Returns the Favor! [Update!]

While listening to Glenn Beck's radio program this morning, I heard about Deepak Chopra's ranting article against Sarah Palin. Gateway Pundit has the story and links, so I will just provide some insight that I learned about Chopra years ago.

Back in January, 2005, Deepak Chopra appeared on Lee Strobel's television program,  Faith Under Fire and debated Christian Apologist Greg Koukl on the topic of "The Future of Faith."

As a recipient of Greg's email alerts I received an email telling me the date, time and channel of the program. Greg also stated the following in his email:

I think you'll find the discussion stimulating and revealing. I think it's also a great opportunity for the Kingdom. Please pray there will be a powerful impact from the exchange between Chopra and me.

Great show!

This broadcast was absolutely fabulous! Greg Koukl pointed out the fact that people can have differing beliefs regarding faith, but that it is logically impossible for them all to be true at the same time. His trust in Jesus Christ and God's Word stood in direct contrast to Deepak Chopra who admitted "embracing his uncertainty." Koukl's view demonstrates a steadfast and true faith where Chopra's view can only lead to theological oblivion.

Messengers of an Impersonal God?
I watched Greg Koukl and Deepak Chopra discuss the future of faith on Lee Strobel's Faith Under Fire last night. Dr. Chopra has written numerous books on New Age spirituality that have sold millions of copies. Greg did a superb job of representing the gospel in content and character, modeling the qualities of an ambassador that he and the folks at Stand to Reason seek to instill in others. He repeatedly demonstrated the problems with religious relativism and exposed the fact that, contrary to his denial that he is dogmatic, Dr. Chopra adheres to a theological position of which he seeks to persuade others.

As a sign of respect for Jesus, Dr. Chopra said that his teaching in the Sermon on the Mount is among his favorites and that he carries a copy of it with him. However, he considers Jesus only one among a number of God's messengers. Not only is this a contradiction of the biblical witness to Jesus' uniqueness, it's also unintelligible given Dr. Chopra's own concept of the nature of God. You see, Dr. Chopra emphatically denies that God is a personal being.

The concept of messenger presupposes two activities, both of which can only be performed by persons. The first is that of sending or commissioning. The summer before I went to college I worked as a messenger for a law firm in Manhattan. They sent me and my co-workers on various assignments to deliver important documents to other firms and businesses. I didn't decide what my destination was to be. Nor did I decide at what times I would go on these errands. All of that was dictated to me by my employer. A messenger is one who is sent by someone not something.

The second activity presupposed by the concept of messenger is communication. A messenger is one who conveys a what? That's right - a message. The task of a messenger is to convey some kind of communication from the one who sent him or her to the recipient. If I were to tell you that my toaster wanted me to tell you something, you'd think that I was either joking or something was seriously wrong with me. That's because we know that toasters and other impersonal entities don't communicate. So, how Dr. Chopra explains the concept of an impersonal God having messengers, I don't know. I don't think he can.

I wouldn't be surprised if Greg offers some more detailed analysis of the exchange at STR's blog so keep an eye out for it.

Greg Koukl r0x0rz da hizzy
I only got to see from about 20 minutes after the hour, but Greg Koukl of Stand to Reason graciously, fairly, kindly, steamrolled Deepak Chopra on Faith Under Fire last night. I mean, it wasn't even fair. Wasn't even close. TKO first round, except the fight kept going. I have no idea how Greg managed to wrangle the whole hour---the biggest draw-back to Faith Under Fire has been that you have to address big issues in picoseconds, and sometimes you just can't do that very well. So, to get the whole hour with a single "opponent" was quite the coup, and resulted in a much better encounter with a much clearer result.
I've heard from Faith Under Fire three times on three different topics. First program crashed and burned when my opponent backed out. Nothing came of the second two. Haven't heard anything in months now. I don't expect to, honestly (if you go over the guest list you'll see a few names that would explain my non-expectation), but as long as they get folks like Greg on there, they'll be doing well.

In addition, SmartChristian's blog pointed out the obvious fact that "Deepak Chopra is simply a new age hindu."

Why am I sharing this with you? Because no matter what fake persona Chopra tries to present to his fans and readers of his books, the true person (emotionally, intellectually, and spiritually) often is exposed during an unnecessarily mean and cruel rant like the one he wrote against Sarah Palin.

Glenn stated some past quotes from Chopra on his radio program. I will try to locate the exact quotes and post them here. But they were similar to the idea that "we all should just get along" and "live in peace and harmony" and "not judge each other" etc. So...what did Chopra do in his angry rant against Sarah Palin? The exact opposite of his guru-type, transcendental meditation gobbledy-gook that he espouses in his books, tapes, interviews and website!

The debate between Koukl and Chopra went on for an entire hour. I found a portion of the program on YouTube, but the portion where Chopra stated that he "embraces his uncertainty" isn't in the clip.

Today, I have decided to borrow the first paragraph of Dr. David Jeremiah's devotional and utilize it in a post about the fact that Barack Hussein Obama is a big fat LIAR.

I know. I will be criticized for using such a harsh word to describe Obama. But the truth is the truth and a lie is a lie. There can be no parsing of words when you come right down to determining who is being truthful and who is not.

In this age of political discourse, media spin, and sound bites, it can be difficult to know what words actually mean. Consultants can be paid large sums of money to produce words that take up space without saying anything. But in the kingdom of God, words are currency--a medium for meaning, an exchange tool for communication.

I sincerely believe that the first two sentences exactly describes Obama's modus operandi. Therefore, we often discern that Obama's words are just spin and sound bites. Quite frankly, we can't believe anything he says anymore. At least that is the way that I see it.

The fact that God is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow, and His written Word prevails forever gives us the confidence that we can implicitly trust Him, His Son Jesus Christ (the Living Word of God) and the Bible (the written Word of God).

One of the signs of the times is the fact that there are so many deceivers out there in the world today. You cannot believe what they say, write, or communicate because they will lie, cheat, swindle, falsely accuse, spew hatred, and create acrimony just for the sake of spreading chaos.

If you haven't been watching The Glenn Beck program lately, you are probably falling for the media spin of what not only is actually going in Egypt (and spreading to other Islamic countries) but more importantly, WHY it is happening. ObaMARXIST - Obama's policies and actions have proven to me that his far left progressive political leanings favor Marxism.

Obambi - He is foolish (see the 1 Corinthians verses above) - like a cartoon character disguised as something harmless, but at the same time dangerous as any Marxist, socialist, or Mao supporter would be.

ObaMAO - See above. Also, recall that a woman who worked at the White House - Anita Dunn - spouted in a church that "the two people she admires most are Mao Tse Tung and Mother Teresa." She went on to say, "not often coupled in the same sentence, but the two that I turn to most." How lovely. She admires and turns to Mao who was responsible for over 70 million deaths?? Obama had a huge round ornament placed on the White House Christmas tree with Mao's likeness on it. Nice...huh?

Obumba - He's a bumbling idiot for causing more economic trouble for the United States with his failed policies and his weak foreign policy. It makes one wonder, just whose side is Obama on? It doesn't appear to be the side of America and our closest Middle East ally - Israel. In fact, his actions appear downright treasonous to me.

Obummer - There are lots of meanings to the word, "bummer" but I think that the following definitions all work in describing him:

God is good. He often uses bad situations to awaken us from our comfort zones in order to get us active again to regain and preserve our freedoms.

This awful experience of Obama as pResident has awakened the sleeping giant of conservatism in the United States of America. Groups such as the TEA Party are working hard to get the majority of Americans out to the polls to vote out the bums in Congress (as we did in 2010). Next, is making Obama a one term pResident with a victory for the Republican nominee (whoever he or she may be) in 2012. It is then that we can turn this ship of fools from taking us down the dark path we are on, replace them with those who believe in our Constitution, Founding Fathers, Declaration of Independence and the Constitutional Republic that was originally created for this great nation - THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!

I know that Jesus is your "Rock" and your faith in Him gets you through the ugly mess that people often sinfully cast against you. In this world of hateful rhetoric, you stand strong and above it all.

Our Lord loves you, and you love Him. No matter what the haters say about you and/or your family, they can NEVER take away what you and Todd have accomplished.

The Lord must have great things in store for you because the totally undeserved persecution going on against you is spoken of and revealed in the Bible about those who follow the Lord Jesus. I'm sure that through it all, the Lord Jesus is saying, "Well done, my good and faithful servant."

Another Terrible Tragedy [Update 7]

Since my computer is still awaiting repair, I turned on the borrowed laptop and the front page headline at The Wall Street Journal website revealed the terribly tragic news that Arizona Congresswoman - Gabrielle Giffords - was Shot in the head and feared killed. Fox News is reporting that she is still alive and in surgery. Several others were shot, too.


Gateway Pundit has additional details. Be sure to read the link to that awful blog - The Daily Kos - for some startling information. I don't want to directly link to it. They have a blog post up with the headline: "My CongressWOMAN voted against Nancy Pelosi! And is now DEAD to me!"

Prayers go out to her, the additional victims, and their families.

I am from the Tucson area and live in Congresswoman, Gabrielle Giffords' district. I worked like a dog for her elections when she was in the Arizona house, surrounded by rightwing nutcases. When Arizona re-districted in 2002, a seat opened up and she was right smack in the middle of it. So was I because I live in Oro Valley, Arizona, which is at the heart of that - then - new CD. I
was one of several people to talk her into running and pledging complete loyalty and pledging to raise as much money as possible for her.

She ended up running for the first time against a fellow AZ House member, Randy Graf who was a rightwing whacko who advocated guns in bars and was the "Russell Pearce before Russell Pearce" vis-a-vis border issues. With a LOT of hard work and plenty of money, Gabby won. Easier than thought, too. I never like to throw money in people's faces, but i have given Gabrielle Giffords THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS of dollars in both good times and bad times for me financially.

Fast forward to this election season. A weirdo asshole named Jesse Kelly who advocated ELIMINATING Social Security and was a tea bagger favorite got the GOP nom to run against her. I am gay and had been married and my spouse left me January 15, 2010. I shot myself in the mouth in a serious suicide attempt, because of that. Barely surviving, I spent two months in the hospital and still have some paralysis. I did receive a severance from my employer, as i had been laid off in December, 2009. That may have been part of the reason my spouse left me.

Anyway, after months of physical and mental rehab, I got back into the political scene and started working for Gabby once again. I raised over $100,000 for her and maxed her out myself out of my severance, even though i still don't have work and could not qualify for state aid because of my severance.

She wins her re-election and told me she was still a supporter of Speaker Pelosi at her victory party. We talked about how Nancy Pelosi was a successful woman and accomplished oh so much in just four years as Speaker.

Today, just a little while ago, I saw on Andrea Mitchell Reports (out of the one eye in can still see out of) that Giffords voted AGAINST Nancy Pelosi as our Minority Leader. Rhetorical question: I fought back from my condition and jumped in with both feet to help Gabrielle Giffords for THIS s**t???

Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords is dead to me now. I won't lift a finger, make one phone call, nor will i EVER vote for her in the future. And why did she do this? Giffords never told me she was conservative Democrat. And her voting record is okay. Damn.

why? because she is helping the media narrative that NINETEEN Democrats voted against Nancy Pelosi. I always knew Gabby wasn't the brightest bulb (but always voted correctly), but i must say, that vote and that statement, in lieu of how the media spins things like this is just....STUPID. And Pelosi has a LOOOONG memory and our CD is now at the bottom of the barrel because of this. This is a district vote and one that is meaningless because she knows Pelosi will get the Leader position anyway. Giffords is a good one in a very red state (I live her too). It's standard fair to allow the purple districts to take some "face-saving" votes.

That Giffords did not bother to return your call after all the work you did for her, says something about her. If I had worked for her as you did, and if she had, after all my hard work, not returned my telephone call, I'd be furious with her. You'd be crazy not to be angry about that.

Thanks for writing this diary and for putting her name on my radar; I knew little about her before this diary/diary thread.

You certainly don't need to be asked "Why are you telling us this?", or "have a cup of tea" and chill out (not sure if there's some subtext to those comments or not, but the thread, overall, has put me in a surly mood). Some people are cruel mo********kers; but, you know this.

Today, in the wake of the assassination attempt on Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords (which left 5 confirmed dead and over a dozen seriously injured, including the Congresswoman herself), the Leftist media tried desperately to pin this attack on the Tea Party movement and conservatives.

In reality, the would-be assassin was 22 year old Jared Lee Loughner, a confirmed Leftist who was upset Congresswoman Giffords opposed Nancy Pelosi and the Left’s open borders agenda.

What are other instances where the Leftist media attempted to pin some terrible event on the Tea Party or conservatives in general, where it turned out the atrocities were committed either by Leftist Democrats or Muslims?

We can think of a three others right off the top of our heads:

(1) NYC Times Square car bomb attempt: where Mayor Michael Bloomberg and the Leftist media attempted to blame the Tea Party, but it was a Muslim who was responsible for attempting to detonate a car filled with makeshift explosives bent on murdering scores of people in Times Square.

(2) February 2010 IRS plane attack: where the Leftist media tried to claim the Tea Party was involved in an attack on an Austin, Texas IRS facility; turns out the pilot was a Democrat.

(3) Ft. Hood attack: where the Leftist media tried to claim the Tea Party was responsible for murders on an Army base; turns out it was a Muslim who shouted “Admiral Akbar!” at the top of his lungs while opening fire on his fellow soldiers.

Can you cite other instances where the Leftist media has tried its best to pin something on Tea Party members when in the end it turns out Muslims or Leftists were actually responsible?

I was thinking the EXACT same thing a few hours ago. I thought to myself how often it turns out to be radical Islamists or radical leftist lunatics that turn out to be the perpetrators of horrible crimes - but Sarah Palin, or TEA Party Patriots, or even President George W. Bush are all somehow blamed??

Are people seriously falling for this crapola anymore?? Geez....

Just learned (via Fox and Friends show during and interview with Jennifer Griffin) that Loughner may have been influenced and/or connected in some way to an anti-government, anti-immigration, anti-Zionist occupation, anti-semitic group...called "American Renaissance." Jennifer described the website postings as "anti-white double standard - it's a racially motivated group." As many people already know, Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords is Jewish. Searching for additional stories on this new development.

Gateway Pundit is now reporting:

The American Renaissance hate group denied knowing Jared Loughner. The founder of AmRen said they looked at their books and have not record of the Tucson shooter attending any events or being a member of the organization. They don’t know where DHS got their “sloppy” information.

Mr. Jared Taylor, the founder of AmRen, told FOX News:

“I had never heard of Loughner until yesterday. That is complete nonsense. I have absolutely no idea what DHS is talking about. We have never used the term “ZOG”. We have never thought in those terms…

If this is the level of research we are getting from DHS then heaven help us.”
