The Disastrous Rise Of Misplaced Power

Before I get to the information that deals directly with the title of this post,  I want to preface what I plan to share with a declaration that I have recently become quite interested in viewing movies from the 1930's, 1940's and 1950's. Yesterday, I watched My Man Godfrey

Storyline
In the depths of the Depression, a party game brings dizzy socialite Irene Bullock to the city dump where she meets Godfrey, a derelict, and ends by hiring him as family butler. He finds the Bullocks to be the epitome of idle rich, and nutty as the proverbial fruitcake. Soon, the dramatizing Irene is in love with her 'protege'...who feels strongly that a romance between servant and employer is out of place, regardless of that servant's mysterious past... Written by Rod Crawford

It was interesting to hear the commentary by the TCM channel. He stated that seeing "the rich" portrayed at ditsy, oftentimes irrational and argumentative with each other, and downright crazy at times appealed to the middle class who frequented the movie theaters back then.

Though there was a lot of hoopla and silliness in the movie, the storyline was quite good. Apparently, the movie was nominated for four Academy Awards in the top categories, but none of the nominees won the award that year.

If you have never seen this movie, you can watch it online. Go to the link above and scroll down a bit to where you will see "Related Videos" and select "full movie."

Without giving away most of the plot, I must say that it was refreshing to see the rich helping the poor, and then a man down on his luck repay the rich man who helped him get back on his feet.

Today, we have a gangster government that is relentless in pitting the poor against the rich. I have NEVER seen the Obamafraud regime EVER give any credit to ANY CHARITABLE GROUP - whether they are rich, poor or anything in between. All I see on a constant basis is the Democrats hating and bashing the Republicans (especially conservative Christians) and lying to promote their terrible Keynesian economic socialist agenda.

Things are quite ugly now, but I don't think that we have seen ANYTHING yet. The 2012 Election is going to be ten times worse. I continue to pray for this country - that the elitist leftists and their media of mass deception cronies - would calm down the rhetoric they spew.  They demonize every group that they are against in order to somehow win the next election. The race card will be played with astounding ignorance and lies - with their hope that the failed economic policies of Obama will somehow not be scrutinized by the voters. But I think it's too late for that anyway. The public is awakened to the mess that Obama has wreaked upon our nation. They will vote accordingly.

The second movie that I want to mention today is called To Be Or Not To Be. I tuned in just after the credits and barely recognized Jack Benny! When I was growing up, he was a much older man. The mini description from the info button on my remote showed me that Benny was one of the lead characters in the film. You can view the movie online at the link above.

Storyline
In occupied Poland during WWII, a troupe of ham stage actors (led by Joseph Tura and his wife Maria) match wits with the Nazis. A spy has information which would be very damaging to the Polish resistance and they must prevent it's being delivered to the Germans. Written by Ken Yousten
blockquote>

It is interesting to note that many movies of that era often involved Hitler and the Nazis. At the website we read:

When Jack Benny's father went to see this movie, he was outraged at the sight of his son in a Nazi uniform in the first scene and even stormed out of the theater. Jack convinced his father that it was satire, and he agreed to sit through all of it.

According to the book 'The United Artists Story' by Ronald Bergan, " Unfortunately, at its release, Pearl Harbor had been attacked, Germany was sweeping across Europe, and the film's star, Carole Lombard, was killed in a plane crash while on a war-bond selling tour. Therefore, neither critics nor public were in the mood to laugh, finding the picture tasteless and callous. Over the years, however, it recovered its production costs and became a classic."

I can see why people would find it tasteless and callous when it was first released because of the real life circumstances happening at the time. But later on, after the victory over Hitler and the Nazis at the end of WWII, it became quite common to mock the Nazis. Remember the T.V. show Hogan's Heroes of the 1960's and 1970's?

Storyline
Colonel Hogan leads a ragtag band of POW's caught behind German lines in this popular television comedy. The bumbling Germans give Hogan and his crew plenty of opportunities to sabotage their war efforts. Colonel Klink is more concerned with having everything run smoothly and avoiding any trouble with his superiors (especially anything that might result in his being reassigned and sent to the front) than with being tough on Hogan and his fellow prisoners. Written by Tad Dibbern

Of course the horrors of the Holocaust is nothing to make light of.  It is an example of THE most disastrous rise of misplaced power!   I don't recall this comedy series dealing with the seriousness of that portion of the war. It was more about making the Nazis look foolish.

Recently, I ran across a posting by a 25 year old young college graduate who was trying to educate the commentators on her Face Book page about the dangers of socialism. Here is the thread (minus last names, "Christine W" is me):

Amanda M
‎"Socialism is a philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy, its inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery..."
-- Winston Churchill

You and 3 others like this..

Jaime B T Ah this is coming from the guy who appeased hitler. Besides he made this quote to denigrate his political rival, and has no factual or poignant substance. I love you my republican friend but don't be afraid of something that isn't scary! Love you!

Friday at 9:03am Amanda M haha ohhhhhh Jaime B T, I just KNEW there would be a comment under my status from you! Something that "isn't scary" is a very big difference of opinion my dear. We have covered our political differences many of times, and I still love you.

Friday at 9:12am Fred B - Jaime, I believe your "appeasement" comment actually refers to British Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain who appeased Hitler from 1937 to 1939. His policies of avoiding war with Germany have been the subject of intense debate for seventy years among academics, politicians and diplomats. Churchill is widely regarded as one of the great wartime leaders and served as Prime Minister twice (1940–45 and 1951–55). It was Churchill who lead the British war against Hitler. I trust you will find this info helpful.

Friday at 9:19am Amanda M oh Mike! Before you "like" a comment make sure the information is factual. I think my dear friend, Fred, cleared that up.

Friday at 9:31am Amanda M ‎** still love ya Mike! Our political debates go back to high school :-) along with Mr. Sean Q! haha

Friday at 9:32am Christine W - Amanda! I'm so proud of you! Keep up the good work educating people who ignore the dangers of Socialism and/or shrug their shoulders over that dangerous philosophy. Love, Mamasita

Friday at 10:11am Jaime B T - Oops! Thank you Fred for the correction.

Friday at 10:15am .Sean Q - Keep me out of this Amanda! But good job posting an anti-socialism quote from a conservative politician, must have been hard to find. But I miss you like crazy and better see you when I come home this time. Miss you too Nielio, may be stopping through LA on my way to HI.

Friday at 1:37pm Amanda M - haha i didn't say it was hard to find! I posted it because i LIKE and AGREE with it. duh? Miss you more! and yes, I will definitely see you when ur back :) Rally the troops!

Friday at 1:40pm Christine W - Amanda, so many young people are not aware of what socialism leads to...mainly Communism, misery and death. The naysayers here need to read up on some history.

Unfortunately, many young people from Amanda's generation were not taught that Nazism is short for National Socialism. They also don't know that America IS NOT a democracy. Look at how often democracies around the world fall right back in line with a  socialism/communism type of government due to the tyrannic mindset of leaders who want power? What's more, they will wield such power to accomplish their own agenda. It is NEVER GOOD for the people under such regimes.

I really wonder what they teach in public school history classes and secular colleges these days? Do many people Amanda's age even realize how many failed socialist/communist policies in history led to the misery and death of millions? If they did, I doubt that they would be for the Obamafraud regime trying to resurrect such failed, dangerous, corrupt, and evil policies here in our CONSTITUTIONAL REPUBLIC - the United States of America!! Oftentimes, the term "democracy" means something quite different to socialists. It is a means to an end to get to the "New World Order."

The "New World Order" may sound good to our itching ears, but history has shown us that such a philosophical form of one-world global government WON'T WORK. Why? Because absolute power corrupts absolutely! Take a look at some famous people in history who have given us warnings:

Quotes from world leaders who reveal, in their own words, what they have planned for the rest of us. Listen, as they admit, that their goal is a one-world government, which they call the “New World Order“.

Outgoing Obama ‘Car Czar’ Makes Yet Another Communist Reference

Peoples...it's been a busy day for me. But while running errands, I was listening to the Glenn Beck radio program. I found it quite interesting that Ron Bloom was leaving the Obamafraud administration. Good riddance AFAIC! At least one of the more creepy czars is outta there.

If you are a Glenn Beck (or were) T.V. show fan, then you may have already heard about Bloom and his Mao-loving rhetoric. If not, then I invite you to read about him over at The Blaze: Outgoing Obama Car Czar Makes Yet Another Communist Reference. Watch the video at that link.

Excerpt:

Still, what Bloom might best be known for is his past comments about Mao and communist China.

During a keynote speech in 2008 at the 6th Annual Distressed Investing Forum at the Union League Club, Bloom spoke about a union’s role in bankruptcy and restructuring, saying he “agreed” with Mao that “political power comes largely from the barrel of a gun.”

“Generally speaking, we get the joke,” Bloom started. “We know that the free market is nonsense. We know that the whole point is to game the system, to beat the market or at least find someone who will pay you a lot of money, ’cause they’re convinced that there is a free lunch.”

“We know this is largely about power, that it’s an adults only no limit game. We kind of agree with Mao that political power comes largely from the barrel of a gun. And we get it that if you want a friend you should get a dog.”

But what came next really stunned me. Perhaps by now NOTHING about ObaMAO and his corrupt cronies should surprise me. But when I learned about Bloom's latest thinly veiled threats (and I'm sure he was aiming right at the conservatives/patriots/TEA Party members) my mouth gaped open!

Excerpt:

That brings us to this month. In an article last week, Politico ended its story on Bloom’s resignation with a curious quote. In reference to Obama attempting to forge a partnership between manufacturers in several states and academia — in order to revitalize American factories — Bloom apparently saw something Mao-esque in the way government was attempting to support private business, stating the approach would, “let the great thousand flowers bloom in America.”

If that sounds familiar, it should.

While the correct wording is in fact a “hundred flowers,” there is no question as to where the phrase derives from. Back in the summer of 1957 in the People’s Republic of China, a movement emerged called the “Hundred Flowers Campaign,” during which the Communist Party allegedly encouraged those with diverse view points to step forward and share their ideas with a view to “letting a hundred flowers blossom and a hundred schools of thought contend is the policy for promoting progress in the arts and the sciences and a flourishing socialist culture in our land.”

Of course it was all a ploy, implemented to out as many free-thinkers and dissidents as the regime possibly could. Not surprisingly, Mao punished many who participated in the Hundred Flowers Movement until finally reimposing his oppressive policy on public expression.

So, if his past Mao comments were a joke, then why would Bloom make yet another reference to Mao, this time with regard to American manufacturing? Is he implying Mao’s Hundred Flowers campaign actually born out of good intentions? Did Bloom mean to say that the Obama administration was then letting “a hundred schools of thought contend” in a “policy for promoting progress” in American factories? That very well could be the case. Or perhaps, Bloom made the comment as a dig to all of those, like Beck and Mack, who have called the former union worker out on his ideological leanings.

So many questions.

Either way, it remains unclear where Bloom may be headed next. A good guess? Perhaps he will take a consulting job at a manufacturing plant in China.

(H/T: Blaze reader Luke S. in Vancouver, BC)

And...do you know what kind of "punishment" Mao regularly dished out? It's OK if you don't. Unfortunately, a lot of Americans didn't learn about it in history class. This commenter will sum it up for you:

Mao was a commie. One step up from a socialist. Also murdered hundreds of thousands of his own people.

Except, of course, IT WAS MILLIONS OF PEOPLE KILLED BY MAO!

Recall the fact that the Obambi White House had a "holiday" ornament on the tree that had the likeness of Mao on it?

I can only shake my head in disbelief that such cruel ignoramuses would say and do such things. The evil swirling around Washington D.C. because of ObaMARXIST, the Demoncrats (and, admittedly, some of the RINOS), NEEDS TO BE CLEANED OUT NEXT ELECTION!

Meanwhile, Dear Lord, I continue to pray that You will please keep America safe in your loving arms until then, and always.  Amen.

My friends… Mao is responsible for killing more people than any other person that’s ever lived… An estimated 70 Million… and this is a person that some on the Left hold up as an example of greatness… The values of the Left are truly an example of pure Moral Bankruptcy…

I see the Democrats as a completely corrupt group. They are hateful, and Godless. It’s time for America to wake up and take our country back from the hands of the communist traitors. See you at the polls in November 2012.

I believe it was Rush that stated it, and that is that It has little to do with the intelligence of Obama, or lack of it. It has everything to do with who he is and what he stands for. He is neither an American in heart or soul. He is against our freedoms, free enterprise, true Christianity or Judaism, the Constitution and the foundational principles of this great nation. He is at the very least a socialist who desires to micromanage our lives because he “knows best” for us, stealing from the rich, dismantling the middle class, and ballooning the dependency and size of the poor class with the objective of creating a literal banana republic – not in any way the kind of Republic that our forefathers created and foresaw.
All one has to do, aside from looking at the policies he has implemented or tried to do so, is look upon the “characters” with whom he has surrounded himself. Valerie Jarrett, Van Jones, Ron Bloom, Cass Sunstein, “the give your dog the right to sue” guy, and on and on the list goes, all promoting his radical agenda. When will it end? hopefully when Obama is sent packing in November 2012.

Here’s the thing, their gig is up. The American people have awakened, at least enough of us that they are not going to get away with the hijinks they had planned when they took over the White House. I think this is why Bloom left, he knew he could not push his communist agenda further because Congress and the American People are awake! Also, Barry’s approval rating has fallen so low, they realize he is not going to be re-elected, especially at this point with Perry’s soaring stardom. I think Barry’s minions are running scared and, like rats abandoning a sinking ship, they are abandoning Barry before things get so bad, they might actually face criminal or treason charges themselves! OT: I find it very very satisfying that Perry is running and got Barry running scared. After Governor Perry pleaded with Barry for aid and disaster funds after the horrible spring wildfires that we (Texas) suffered (I actually was evacuated because of the fire danger). Barry chose to totally ignore my Governor’s requests for disaster aid. And it was not the first time Barry dissed Texas. I find it poetic justice that Perry may be the one to unseat the annointed one!!!! [Christine: allow me to change that to "ointment one" cause he's slimy, greasy, and his policies STINK!]

Obama: The Un-American American President

I cringe every time I hear Obama speak. I tried to watch and listen to the press conference today, but when his answers didn't match the questions, it became a ridiculous waste of my time to watch this puppet of George Soros. Obama parrots all the lies, creepy policies, and America-hating destruction that Soros(and all the spewing radicals in the media who have the same evil mindset of this atheistic billionaire) continuously subjects upon our nation and the American people. I almost decided that I would read the blog post at Patriot Action Network later. But then, I read the introductory paragraphs and became hooked!

The Un-American American President

By Jay Clarke

Something is wrong with Barack Obama. We all know it. We all see it. When he speaks about America, Americans cringe. There is a strangeness to his manner, an unease when he talks about America. He appears awkward and uncomfortable. His speech seems performed and practiced yet, oddly halting. It's reminiscent of American POW's in Vietnam or Iraq reading a forced confession. His eyes, expressions, and vocal tone are disconnected from his words. The words themselves often sound American, but the delivery is clinical and detached. His attempts at patriotic sentiment ring hollow and phony. "Once again, with feeling!" is how Americans are left feeling. He just doesn't seem right. He doesn't seem like, well...one of us.

Before anyone "goes there" and makes accusations of racism, this is about a pervasive, nagging, national perception that Barack Obama does not intuitively understand or appreciate America or Americans. Not our past. Not our present or future. He just doesn't act or sound like an American. In fact, there are good reasons and ample evidence for why.

Hat Tips to both links.

Be sure to read through the comments at both links. Many excellent ones that reveal how many Americans absolutely agree with what the author of the article wrote!! So many of us have sensed for a very long time that Obama, his mindset, his personality,  and his destructive policies are dangerously un-American.

*******

I am reading through the comment section at American Thinker, and I feel led to share some of the best ones here:

Drew

It's worse than being unAmerican in the sense of not understanding what makes America tick.  Obama HATES America seeing it as oppressive toward the blacks and Muslims with whom he identifies.  He is so blinded by his hatred that he doesn't even register that both these groups are better off in the United States than in any other country on earth except Canada.  Both groups and their famous son in the White House lack all introspection and accountability for themselves and project all their woes onto whitey in eternity.  The United States for the first time has a First Couple who hate everything about the country that gave their undeserving selves its highest honor and want to change it to yet another socialist swamp.  Eleanor Roosevelt was another such traitorous fool with red stars in her eyes.

Sigy

Such individuals who lack ulterior motive have traditionally been referred to in layman’s terms simply as a variation of a pyromaniac. Most such maniacs lack conscious motivation although they are fully aware of the acts they are failing to stop or they themselves are committing. Typically they will feel intense pleasure, gratification, or relief when causing destruction or when witnessing or participating in the aftermath. Motivation is also classified as pathological and non-pathological. Some research suggests that feeling such joy at horrific situation is pathological. Other research suggests that some motivation for this comes from rational thought. Taking joy in horrific situations for envisioned gains in political power and/or the concealment of the imposition of devious plans are examples of supposed rational decision making. I must say in conclusion that history has repeatedly and harshly proven that elevating such a profoundly disturbed man to the highest office in any country is never a good idea

wodiej

Everyone knows how he was raised and that explains it all.  Not a rational adult in the bunch and none of them embraced American values either. Our only hope right now is that the Republican controlled House refuses to approve of any new spending.  Second, we need to hope that Americans will rise up and meet the challenge of nominating someone who does embrace American values to run against Obama for 2012.  Who lives it and has the resume of a true public servant who was fiscally responsible and put her constituents first.  That person is Gov. Sarah Palin

aposematic

As bad as Barack Hussein Obama is as a American Constitutional Republic hater, what then about a fawning Press/Media constantly licking the soles of Obama's and his ilk's shoes? What, oh what, have the American people become to have given these Progressive/Socialist/Communist/Islamist/Marxists control of the American Power Centers? To underestimate the evil of evil is insanely myopic! The telling is in Obama's continued personal approval ratings as he implements the destruction of our free society through one policy failure after another intentioned to reduce America to just another dreadful existence for its peoples within an insane socialist world empire ruled over by the World's tyrants. All the while, the opposition runs the fullback up the middle for the trillionth time and then punts...the only recourse now is a hail-marry pass and how many times has that ever worked? Any rational observer would come to the conclusion that the American people have doomed themselves into poverty and servitude and seem to be loving the fantasy of it all.

Sarahistheone

They will never never wake up because they want an Obama America. It is up to the America people to fight them everyday. Why do we allow them to vilify conservatives. Why did we allow them to change minds about Sarah Palin. Some people have played right into their hands. They must learn that we will no longer fall for this. If Sarah Palin runs for POTUS and wins it will draw the line. They will become less relevant and it is about time. We have given the reigns of the country to special interest groups who are the main cause of changing our country. How about Unions destroying the country. If a true conservative is not elected in 2012, our fight will be harder and harder. We can't fly the flag, no pledge of Allegiance, can't mention God......why do we let these things happen? Why didn't we fight harder. How could we screw up the greatest country in the world. I love America but don't kid yourself, our values are fading.

Obama reminds me of a European visiting the US, perceiving and approaching America from an outside perspective. He doesn't understand patriotism, freedom, or free enterprise, so they do not come into play in his approach to governing. This is no surprise because of his upbringing. Let this be a powerful lesson to us. Never again should we elect an outsider who does not understand us, or is not invested in our system.

NORSEMAN Today 09:10 AM

This is an article that needs to be distributed. Ironically, the MSM is hammering Michelle Bachmann for calling Obama anti-American. As usual, she is ahead of the curve. Kudos for a well written article. This shows how much trouble we are in. The fact that there are people out there that still support this socialist America hating man-child speaks volumes about the dumbing down of our youth by the left wing education system in this country. God help us!

RunngMoose Today 10:08 AM

Ever since I first heard Barack Obama speak, and every time thereafter, I sensed something very basic deep within him that disturbed and troubled me. I had trouble watching him give a speech........I just couldn't get through it. It was painful. For the longest time I also just couldn't quite put my finger on what it was that discomforted me so. Was I a closet racist? Was it just because he was an ultra-liberal Democrat? Was it because he seemed to be a typical lying Chicago politician? All of the above? I finally wrote it off mostly to his manner of constantly pontificating like a stereotypical college professor/lecturer which, after all, is what he used to be. This is a demeanor that I have absolutely hated from my college days, so I settled on that and tried to move on. Alas, this article has finally revealed and enabled me to understand, sadly, what it really is. :(

Paul Murphy Today 10:32 AM

As a birther I need to point out, however, that he is exactly the kind of person the founders had in mind when they required the president to be a natural born (two American parents) citizen - which Mr. Obama, by his own accounts, is not.

joseph mcnulty Today 11:29 AM

For several years, I have had the feeling the Obama is not really "American" and that for the first time in my lifetime, we have elected an un-American ---or non-American -- American president. This raises the question of what kind of country we have become, but I have been disappointed in America since we elected the obvious cad, liar, and bounder Bill Clinten. Nixon was a crook -- true -- but you always knew that he was an American crook and that his loyalties were ultimately to this country. One cannot say the same thing about Obama. The bow to the King of Saudi Arabia cannot be explained away. Another American President might have given a bow of the head -- a show of deference to a royal who represented an entire nation -- but Obama's bow was the equivalent of the kow-tow 200 years ago in China, something that American diplomats refused to do. His bow was just not politeness; it was a bow of fealty, of a vassal to his lord. And of course the White House and press either ignore this or pass is off to Obama's inexperience -- he just did not know any better. But also read his Cairo speech. Its tone -- totally ignored by the media -- was that of one in the Muslim faith speaking to othersin the faith. Did a Saudi prince really pay for his law school education? Perce Sutton -- a once-prominent New York political figure -- said so and had spoken to Saudi prince Alaweed about Obama. Why would a Saudi prince be acting as a "talent scout" for American law students? Did someone even then see a big future for Obama? Obama is a mystery. There is a secret at the center of Obama that we do not know. He is devious and clever, a true Alinskyite, probably a Lenist since he seems to follow Lenin's dictum, "The worse, the better." Witness how he is preparing the ground for the destruction of Israel while still posing as a friend of Israel -- a man trying to impose a solution and "save Israel from itself." The rediculous Lybia operation is to establish the principle of "humanitarian intervention" and the imposition of a "no-fly" zone on Israel when a Palestinian state is created against Israel's wishes. The Republic is in peril -- all the more so because most people do not grasp this. Obama is NOT just another President. If he is re-elected, there will be a movement to amend the Constitution to remove the two-term limit on Presidents. We will be told that things were so bad under Bush that Obama needs more than two terms to fix them. Besides, that would only be returning the Constitution to the way is was in 1950 -- "original intent." And why should our nation be denied the services of a successful President -- remember, he killed Bin Laden -- who still is so young and vigorous? On the teleprompter, he is a gifted "front man" for -- whom? With all his golf outings and vacations, doesn't it seem that he really has little interest in actually BEING President; he just wants to SEEM to be President in accordance with his agreement with -- whom? This also explains why he seems so fumbling when off the teleprompter.

Mr. Peabody Today 11:34 AM

When belief in a benevolent God was jettisoned from our national consciousness the rest was just a natural progression. It led to the development of a moronic PC society that is hellbent on destroying itself. The desire to be accepted is the main goal in many people's lives. The go-along to get-along attitude permeates America. It trumps everything. Belief systems, self-determination, sense of right and wrong. We have been made to feel guilty for crimes we never took part in or never committed. The guilt-baiters have played their hand well. They have messed with enough minds as to prevent the whole of American society to speak plainly about Hussein-Soetoro and his ilk and demand proper action. Evil now rules this country. Pure, unadulterated evil.

Redhawk Today 12:08 PM

Paul Murphy is right – Obama has shown us the reason why the natural-born requirement was put into the Constitution. Having grown up as a citizen of the world, Obama has no particular allegiance or emotional attachment to this country, shows little concern for its welfare, appears to have no stake in its future, and seems to hold most of us in contempt.
The fact that he could stone-wall us for years by refusing to provide a
long-form birth certificate, and then have the arrogance and audacity to produce an obviously photo-shopped forgery, knowing that no one would have the guts to call him on it, or have a Connecticut social security number that no one would ever inquire about, or be without a valid selective service number that no one seems to be interested in, or be able to seal all his records without the slightest protest from any figures of authority, his sneering contempt for us is, in many ways, not altogether
misplaced.

ozy Today 12:53 PM

Obama sees America as the root of all evil. For him and other communist and radicals out there, America doesn't have the moral fiber to be the world's leader. For them, America is corrupt and socially unjust. Anyone who repress blacks, latino and moslems is evil , in the eyes of b.o and his cronies.

The reason we are in such a mess economically and politically is that it is b.o's carefully executed plan. Create havoc in the system, until it collapses and then replace it.(the Clowerd- Piven doctrine, b.o's other mentors). It will be years before America would climb out of this trench dug so masterfully by b.o. Soros and their ilk.

Observer Today 02:10 PM

“Naturalized citizens …came seeking their American Dream, the freedom and opportunity to build a better life for themselves and their families.”

I am one of them. I live here for close to the quarter of a century, lean more to libertarian train of thought rather than contemporary Republican one (though I vote for Republicans). Therefore I came to a conclusion that the key words in the above quote are ‘their American Dream’. Keep in mind that most of naturalized citizens deeply love this country (much more than naturally born citizen because we remember vividly places we left behind). Still our dreams and way of thinking is very different and that is why Framers of the Constitution were right when decided that only naturally-born citizen are eligible to be a President. Country needs the person who is one of the majority, shares majority’s views and way of life.

If it is true for us, staunch supporters of this country and Constitution, it should be true for BHO who is not naturally-born citizen (he was born with dual nationality due to his father, place of birth does not matter). He is not eligible, and should not be allowed to run for the second term. Pipe dreams I know…

Mike6 Today 02:35 PM

I watched Obama's news conference today and I was struck by the blankness in Barry's eyes. His eyes appeared like two large black voids that worried me. His eyes seem to be incapable of expressing honor and truth and remind me of the master deceivers like Hillary Clinton and Joseph Paul Goebbels. Barry has a huge leftist media following but he has no class or decency and will say anything to get press accolades and get a few more votes from the public.

I am sure that Michelle and Barry would be pleased to send all the Tea Party folks to re-education camps in some South-West desert to re-educate them about the joys of stimulus spending, more deficits, and larger kickbacks to democrat voters to get re-elected in 2012. Obama said that he wants to change our American foundations but he really wants is to take away our freedoms, deminish our proud Constitution. and to transform our bold/ brave John Wyane American/Jimmy Steward characters into behaving like whimpering welfare queens.

oltron Today 03:47 PM

Dorothy Rabinowitz made much the same point in her WSJ article "Alien in the White House." Anyone wanting to really understand the origins of Obama's anti-Americanism should read \The Origins of Barrack Obama's Rage\ by Dinesh D'Sousa.

Kit_Jefferson Today 04:37 PM

When Obama was elected in 2008 he was a relative unknown. This is 2011 and that is no loner the case. He is now well known for what he truly is - a poseur pretending to be something that he is most definitely not. Many in this nation were fooled once. Only time will tell if they remain fooled.

Media blackout: CIA Director Accused of Links to Communist Spy Contact—Scandal Ignored

That is the title of an article that was written and released several days ago by Veteran journalist Wes Vernon. I learned about Panettagate via Trevor Loudon's blog New Zeal:

Trevor Loudon.com: Panettagate A Real Scandal Involving National Security.

As if we didn't have enough to deal with, now we have to find out that our CIA Director and soon-to-be Secretary of Defense pals around with avowed Communist agitators??!!

Excerpt:

[B]ut in the spirit of public service, which the Post is apparently encouraging, my friend and associate Trevor Loudon and I have dug into the background of CIA director and Secretary of Defense nominee Leon Panetta. It’s too bad that we didn’t have this material assembled before now, but better late than never. The evidence shows that Panetta had a close and personal relationship with a member of the Communist Party by the name of Hugh DeLacy, whose record included meeting with communist espionage agents. By any objective standard of journalism, this should be big news. But the question now is whether the media, liberal and conservative, will take time off from Weinergate to pay attention and examine the evidence.

[T]his is why, however, we are supposed to have congressional panels from the Senate and House—and security agencies like the FBI—to conduct such background probes. Yet, we find no evidence that the Panetta-DeLacy relationship was ever examined by the FBI or the Senate when Panetta was being considered and confirmed for the post of CIA Director. The major media have been even more derelict, content to cover the Panetta hearings for Secretary of Defense in a cursory manner and then turn their attention back to something that is easier and more fun to cover and which is sure to attract interest—Weiner. You can bet that the Democrats would rather talk about Weiner than one of their own, a former Democratic Congressman turned CIA director, who is neck-deep in a scandal involving his relationship with a communist agent and an espionage ring.

It is an open question whether the Senate will take a look at this evidence now that Panetta is up for another sensitive post and senators have to act on his confirmation.

[I]n addition to this evidence, we have congressional hearings, information about a communist cell active in Santa Cruz, and Panetta’s own record as a member of Congress, where he fought during the 1980s to protect communist advances in such countries as Nicaragua and Grenada and worked feverishly to undermine President Reagan’s anti-communist foreign policy and military defense build-up. Incidentally, back then Panetta was a foe of CIA covert action to protect America’s vital interests, which makes Obama’s selection of him as CIA director even more interesting. We know that Panetta’s CIA director of public affairs, George Little, was listed as a dinner guest of Al-Jazeera at a Radio and TV Congressional Dinner, and that Panetta has issued no public warnings about a Muslim Brotherhood takeover of the Middle East. The evidence indicates the CIA may be on the side of radical forces in the region. His only apparent success as CIA director has been the killing of Osama bin Laden, an impressive operation that has nevertheless backfired in the sense of sending a nuclear-armed Pakistan into the arms of Communist China.

Veteran journalist Wes Vernon has seen our evidence, as it has been released over the last several days, and has marveled at the cover-up so far. In a column titled, “Media blackout: CIA director accused of links to Communist spy contact—scandal ignored,” he notes that “…DeLacy was not only a prominent member of the Communist Party USA, but also a personal contact of identified Soviet spies Solomon Adler and Frank Coe and accused spy John Stewart Service, and one has to wonder: What was there about DeLacy’s background and record that attracted the friendship of the man who is now CIA Director and has been nominated to assume an even higher national security post—Secretary of Defense?”

He concludes, “If Panetta’s nomination for Secretary of Defense makes it through the Senate Armed Services Committee—and barring indications to the contrary, it would appear “the skids are greased”—then what? Is there not one conservative senator prepared to raise this issue on the floor when the confirmation is up for debate? Not one? Why?”

Go to the link and read it all. Isn't it amazing that a blogger/journalist from New Zealand does the research that our Media of Mass Deception (MOMD) refuses to do?? Reason why? Most of those in the MOMD are probably commies too!

Truth Is What Is Unequivocally True

There is so much turmoil and chaos going on in the world today. It is difficult to focus on just one topic at a time. But focus we must if we are to truly understand what is really happening.

For many people, the truth is a relative concept. Political correctness gone crazy is mostly the culprit. Without the foundation of God's Word, the Bible, the Gospel of Jesus Christ and the leading of the Holy Spirit (Who guides us into all truth), it can be very difficult for individuals to discern truth from error.

The prophecies on the end times in the Bible are occuring now at an alarmingly rapid rate. It would behove us all to pay close attention to them. But you most likely will not get such information from the Media of Mass Deception, except for a few news analyst shows on the Fox News Channel.

That is why the new media - blogs - are so vital to finding out the truth. The spin that seems to rule the airwaves in most newsroom circles is very disturbing. That is why many people are turning to the Internet and blogs to find out what the Lamestream media refuses to report.

For example. The following link to a blog post at American Thinker reiterates my point:

Can Truth Prevail in a Culture of Spin?
posted by null at American Thinker - 9 hours ago
Truth is what is unequivocally true. It is not constrained by ideology, creed, or spin.

Glenn Beck is quoted as saying, "The truth doesn't have an agenda."

But the spinmeisters do have an agenda. And most of it leads (unfortunately) to evil.

The five comments over at the American Thinker link (as of 2/19 at 8:29 a.m.) are quite excellent as well.

I applaud the author for the spirit of this article. It can be difficult sometimes not to despair when one sees and hears the million blatant and obvious lies all around us. The chuzpah with which politicians and "journalists" take us for fools is breathtaking and it seems to be getting worse with accelerating speed. With all the lies and propaganda, will people realize when they are being robbed of their money, of their freedom, their rights and essentially their culture? The Europeans never did. It seems a lot of Americans do. God bless the United States of America!

Re: “the co-opting of the academic community”

The government didn’t co-opted the academic community; THE ACADEMIC COMMUNITY CO-OPTED GOVERNMENT. The academy is where all ideas originate. Not wanting to appear un-enlightened, members of government and business adopt its ideas. That’s where multiculturalism came from. By taking over, liberals in the academy have replaced the pursuit of truth with political advocacy [archive.frontpagemag.com] , namely of ideas everyone is afraid to challenge for fear of being accused of not being worthy of their position.

Lay this article over the pages of Atlas Shrugged and see if you can find much difference. No, the author is not trying to plagiarize the story, she's simply reporting on the reality of the day and it just so happens to be frighteningly similar.

An interesting article. What you are describing here is the process of becoming a third world country. Our venal, corrupt, collectivist, hack politicians and bureaucrats would rather rule in a third world country than serve in a first world one.

That last sentence reminds me of John Milton in Paradise Lost, who has Satan saying this quote on his expulsion from Heaven:

"It is better to reign in hell than to serve in
heaven."

Considering the fact that Jesus warned us in the Bible to avoid hell even more than he spoke about heaven, I'd take Jesus' advice over Milton's or satan's.

The link in the third comment above to a FrontPageMagazine.com article is excellent and well worth the time to read it.

Excerpt:

Advocacy and activism have their legitimate roles in the political sphere. But it has long been the consensus of higher educators that the core mission of colleges and universities, apart from research, is education. This was made clear in the founding statement of the American Association of University Professors (AAUP) in 1915, and more recently in a landmark brief submitted to the Supreme Court by the American Council on Education (ACE) and fifty-three other academic associations, including the AAUP, in the 2003 case of Gratz v Bollinger, which stresses that the purpose of education is to instill the capacity for independent thought.

“Educators believe that developing the powers of analysis in this way is not merely one among many skills to be taught; it is the chief skill, because on it rests understanding and freedom. Socrates thought knowledge and freedom so essential, and so dependent on close reasoning, that the unexamined life is not worth living. The purpose of education, held the Stoics who carried his idea forward, is to confront the student’s passivity, challenging the student’s mind to take charge of its own thought. To strengthen the ability to reason is to enable the student to determine what to believe, what to say, and what to do, rather than merely to parrot thoughts, words, and actions of convention, friends or family.”

Since education and advocacy (to say nothing of activism) are thus antithetical to each other, serious issues are raised when universities and their subdivisions engage in advocacy and activism. Such actions undermine educational purpose and fall outside of authorized mission. Indeed, they transform education into indoctrination.

Unfortunately, advocacy and activism are well established in the public university systems of Pennsylvania, often announcing themselves boldly in department and program mission statements. That such announcements are considered acceptable is a strong indicator of how deeply the academic culture of the component institutions has, in some respects, been deformed.

The difference between the kind of education which allows the freedom of students to think through any issue and be presented both sides before forming an opinion or analysis of such, and the advocacy/activism that is currently going on via the majority of leftist (some socialist and even communist!) professors who mostly adhere to indoctrination of students to be puppets of their own beliefs is quite evident and exposed for all to see through what is happening in our own country when so many young people were fooled to vote for Obama and his undefined "change" mantra. Well, all of America is now suffering at the hands of the kooks and thugs that used to only protest at rallies in places like San Francisco, but are now running (and ruining our nation) things in our current socialist/Islamo-fascist/communist/and radical union leader advocating government.

AHMADINEJAD SAYS "THE FINAL MOVE HAS BEGUN," GLOBAL REVOLUTION MANAGED BY THE TWELFTH IMAM

* Anne Graham Lotz has written an excellent column on "Prayer for Egyptian Believers" now posted at www.joshuafund.net

By Joel C. Rosenberg

(Washington, D.C., February 18, 2011) -- Quick update before the Iran story: Mahmoud Abbas is trying to force a U.N. vote to condemn Israel for building "settlements" on territory the Palestinians claim is theirs but refuse to sign a peace treaty to get. The good news: the Obama administration is threatening to veto the resolution if it comes before the Security Council. The bad news: the U.S. is proposing to condemn Israel in a different manner to appease Abbas and the Islamic world.

"The U.S. informed Arab governments Tuesday that it will support a U.N. Security Council statement reaffirming that the 15-nation body 'does not accept the legitimacy of continued Israeli settlement activity,' a move aimed at avoiding the prospect of having to veto a stronger Palestinian resolution calling the settlements illegal," reports Foreign Policy magazine in a story posted on its website. Unbelievable. Way to treat our only true democratic and stable ally in the Mideast. I'm posting updates on the blog as the story develops.

Now, back to Iran.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is telling the people of Iran that the Twelfth Imam is managing the the revolution now underway in Egypt and in various parts of the Islamic world, and that "the final move has begun" to destroy America, Israel and the influence of the Western powers in the epicenter.

"We will soon see a new Middle East materialising without America and the Zionist regime and there will be no room for world arrogance (the West) in it," Ahmadinejad told a crowd chanting "Death to America, death to Israel and death to Mubarak" last Friday. Agence France Presse reported that "in his fiery style, Ahmadinejad, showed his messianic beliefs on Friday, saying the world was witnessing a revolution managed by Imam Mahdi, the 12 Shiite imam who disappeared as a five-year-old in the 10th century and who Shiites believe would return on the judgement day."

"The final move has begun," said Ahmadinejad. "We are in the middle of a world revolution managed by this dear (12th Imam). A great awakening is unfolding. One can witness the hand of Imam in managing it."

The Twelfth Imam and Iranian eschatology are topics that deserve more attention than they are getting from the media or our government officials. Let us pray that our leaders wake up to the true gravity of the threat posed by Iran's apocalyptic regime before it is too late.

UPDATES:

* Yesterday, Glenn Beck devoted an entire one-hour program to the topic of the Twelfth Imam, which I was glad to be able to assist with. I was glad to see other people interviewed for the program included Sen. Rick Santorum of Pennsylvania and former Delta Force commander Lt.-Gen. (ret) Jerry Boykin.

Another Terrible Tragedy [Update 7]

Since my computer is still awaiting repair, I turned on the borrowed laptop and the front page headline at The Wall Street Journal website revealed the terribly tragic news that Arizona Congresswoman - Gabrielle Giffords - was Shot in the head and feared killed. Fox News is reporting that she is still alive and in surgery. Several others were shot, too.

Gateway Pundit has additional details. Be sure to read the link to that awful blog - The Daily Kos - for some startling information. I don't want to directly link to it. They have a blog post up with the headline: "My CongressWOMAN voted against Nancy Pelosi! And is now DEAD to me!"

Prayers go out to her, the additional victims, and their families.

Of course, the blame game begins. I was disheartened to hear Fox News tell a story that someone involved with the TEA Party was responsible.

Why would anyone volunteer to serve in Congress knowing that crazy kooks out there who disagree with a person's ideology and/or politics would resort to such an evil, deathly act of revenge??

I am from the Tucson area and live in Congresswoman, Gabrielle Giffords' district. I worked like a dog for her elections when she was in the Arizona house, surrounded by rightwing nutcases. When Arizona re-districted in 2002, a seat opened up and she was right smack in the middle of it. So was I because I live in Oro Valley, Arizona, which is at the heart of that - then - new CD. I
was one of several people to talk her into running and pledging complete loyalty and pledging to raise as much money as possible for her.

She ended up running for the first time against a fellow AZ House member, Randy Graf who was a rightwing whacko who advocated guns in bars and was the "Russell Pearce before Russell Pearce" vis-a-vis border issues. With a LOT of hard work and plenty of money, Gabby won. Easier than thought, too. I never like to throw money in people's faces, but i have given Gabrielle Giffords THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS of dollars in both good times and bad times for me financially.

BoyBlue's diary :: ::
Fast forward to this election season. A weirdo asshole named Jesse Kelly who advocated ELIMINATING Social Security and was a tea bagger favorite got the GOP nom to run against her. I am gay and had been married and my spouse left me January 15, 2010. I shot myself in the mouth in a serious suicide attempt, because of that. Barely surviving, I spent two months in the hospital and still have some paralysis. I did receive a severance from my employer, as i had been laid off in December, 2009. That may have been part of the reason my spouse left me.

Anyway, after months of physical and mental rehab, I got back into the political scene and started working for Gabby once again. I raised over $100,000 for her and maxed her out myself out of my severance, even though i still don't have work and could not qualify for state aid because of my severance.

She wins her re-election and told me she was still a supporter of Speaker Pelosi at her victory party. We talked about how Nancy Pelosi was a successful woman and accomplished oh so much in just four years as Speaker.

Today, just a little while ago, I saw on Andrea Mitchell Reports (out of the one eye in can still see out of) that Giffords voted AGAINST Nancy Pelosi as our Minority Leader. Rhetorical question: I fought back from my condition and jumped in with both feet to help Gabrielle Giffords for THIS s**t???

Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords is dead to me now. I won't lift a finger, make one phone call, nor will i EVER vote for her in the future. And why did she do this? Giffords never told me she was conservative Democrat. And her voting record is okay. Damn.

Not Shuler. Statement:

Congresswoman Giffords today cast a ceremonial vote in the process of confirming Rep. John Boehner as the next Speaker of the House of Representatives.

The congresswoman’s vote for Rep. John Lewis signaled her desire for courageous leadership and high moral standards at a critical time in our nation’s history. He is one of our nation’s most prominent civil rights leaders and a hero to all Americans.

John Lewis spent a lifetime standing up for the enduring values that sets our nation apart from all others. He is widely admired by his colleagues on both sides of the aisle and in both houses of Congress. Sen. John McCain, put it well in his 2004 book, “Why Courage Matters: the Way to a Braver Life.” Sen. McCain wrote that “John Lewis was as courageous as anyone could ever hope to be.”

In words and deeds, John Lewis should be a clear and bright guiding light for every member of Congress and every American. His integrity and civility is an example for us all.

So was I bec

Thanks Albert -but I really wanted to know how you know that "Boy Blue" is Jared Loughner?

Albert W. January 8 at 9:08pm Report
Somewhere there is a screen capture of BlueBoy profile that shows he is Jerad Loughner. Can't seem to local at the minute but will keep looking.

Update 5: TONS of information, photos, saved scrubbed web pages, and videos about the killer, Jared Loughner, at Hillbuzz. In fact, they are asking the same question that I am asking:

UPDATE: 311pm CST Shooter has been identified as Jared Laughner. Was Jared Laughner a regular reader/writer/commenter on Daily Kos?

Is Jared Laughner “BoyBlue” from Daily Kos or is he in any way affiliated with Daily Kos?

Also, while you are over at Hillbuzz, be sure to read the following link:

Identify instances where the Leftist media tried to pin something on the Tea Party where it ended up being Muslims or Leftists who committed those crimes.

Here's a copy of the post:

Today, in the wake of the assassination attempt on Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords (which left 5 confirmed dead and over a dozen seriously injured, including the Congresswoman herself), the Leftist media tried desperately to pin this attack on the Tea Party movement and conservatives.

In reality, the would-be assassin was 22 year old Jared Lee Loughner, a confirmed Leftist who was upset Congresswoman Giffords opposed Nancy Pelosi and the Left’s open borders agenda.

What are other instances where the Leftist media attempted to pin some terrible event on the Tea Party or conservatives in general, where it turned out the atrocities were committed either by Leftist Democrats or Muslims?

We can think of a three others right off the top of our heads:

(1) NYC Times Square car bomb attempt: where Mayor Michael Bloomberg and the Leftist media attempted to blame the Tea Party, but it was a Muslim who was responsible for attempting to detonate a car filled with makeshift explosives bent on murdering scores of people in Times Square.

(2) February 2010 IRS plane attack: where the Leftist media tried to claim the Tea Party was involved in an attack on an Austin, Texas IRS facility; turns out the pilot was a Democrat.

(3) Ft. Hood attack: where the Leftist media tried to claim the Tea Party was responsible for murders on an Army base; turns out it was a Muslim who shouted “Admiral Akbar!” at the top of his lungs while opening fire on his fellow soldiers.

Can you cite other instances where the Leftist media has tried its best to pin something on Tea Party members when in the end it turns out Muslims or Leftists were actually responsible?

I was thinking the EXACT same thing a few hours ago. I thought to myself how often it turns out to be radical Islamists or radical leftist lunatics that turn out to be the perpetrators of horrible crimes - but Sarah Palin, or TEA Party Patriots, or even President George W. Bush are all somehow blamed??

Are people seriously falling for this crapola anymore?? Geez....

Update 6:

Just learned (via Fox and Friends show during and interview with Jennifer Griffin) that Loughner may have been influenced and/or connected in some way to an anti-government, anti-immigration, anti-Zionist occupation, anti-semitic group...called "American Renaissance." Jennifer described the website postings as "anti-white double standard - it's a racially motivated group." As many people already know, Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords is Jewish. Searching for additional stories on this new development.

Update 7 @ 9:04 a.m. PT

Gateway Pundit is now reporting:

The American Renaissance hate group denied knowing Jared Loughner. The founder of AmRen said they looked at their books and have not record of the Tucson shooter attending any events or being a member of the organization. They don’t know where DHS got their “sloppy” information.

Mr. Jared Taylor, the founder of AmRen, told FOX News:

“I had never heard of Loughner until yesterday. That is complete nonsense. I have absolutely no idea what DHS is talking about. We have never used the term “ZOG”. We have never thought in those terms…

If this is the level of research we are getting from DHS then heaven help us.”

James Rosen at FOX News reported.

Who to believe? A hate group or Obama’s politicized DHS?
