DWTS - Losing Its Class and Grace

Hi friends. My apologies for not consistently posting lately. Yesterday, my morning started out crazy and remained so for most of the day! When I got out of the shower, the roofers (getting our roof repaired all week) were banging on the roof, the dogs were barking hysterically, the phone was ringing, my husband was texting me on my cell phone, and my Mom was hungry for her breakfast!

I literally did not sit down but twice during the day. At 2:00 p.m. to watch The Glenn Beck show, and then again at 8:00 p.m. to watch Dancing With The Stars.

DWTS has been one of my favorite shows. However, something happened towards the end of the show last night that I found ungraceful, un-classy, and very disappointing.

The question is:

Did Sarah Palin get booed on Dancing With the Stars last night? Some people think so.

There is a debate going on in the comment section regarding what, or whom, the "boos" were directed towards. The trouble is, during the re-broadcast, the booing could have been suppressed. It was left in there on purpose.

The one show on television that I always thought was one that demonstrated class and elegance is being tarnished. The first disappointment was the need to bleep out Brandy's curse words. How sad that a beautiful singing star has such a foul mouth that she can't even control it while appearing and performing dances on a national T.V. show!

The second disappointment was what definitely appeared to be booing from some in the crowd right before Sarah Palin, who was there as a member of the audience to support her daughter Bristol's performance, was briefly interviewed by the host of the show. Young Piper was sitting next to her mother in support of her older sister. But the booing libtards didn't care to think how that young child might feel about their rude, arrogant, and unnecessary disparagement.

My comment at Gateway:

When a mom who happens to be famous and loved by many – yet hated by some in the public who disagree with her politics - appears at an event to support her daughter, I would have thought that even the most rabid leftists would be gracious and not boo. But I was wrong. The type of persons who would boo a person like that on national T.V. during a pleasant dancing competition are despicable – to say the least.

I was in the audience of DWTS a few years ago and we were encouraged to dress nicely and be polite. There were people introduced in the audience who I didn’t like and disagreed with politically, but I would NEVER have booed them during the taping of the show.

If those boos were aimed at Sarah Palin (and I think they were – like Bailey wrote, “There was way too much time between the scores and the boos.”) then someone involved in the show needs to apologize for it next week.

However, it appears that the execs at ABC are not willing to offer an apology to Gov. Palin for the disgraceful attitude of some in the audience. They hid behind their desks and lied about it.

The slogan at ABC is “a new kind of family.” Apparently, that means a rejection of normal conservative families like the Palins and the embrace of the rude, bombastic, rabid, liberal leftist lunatic fringe types as this new kind of “family.” How sad and tragic.

It’s been debunked both by ABC and the shows host, Tom Bergeron. The boos were not for Sarah. In fact , if you watched it, you can see and hear that when Bergeron introduces her, there is cheering and applause and lots of smiling faces in the audience. I bet it gets debunked this on evening’s show as well.

Just because some of the fringe left loons wish and say something is so, it doesn’t mean it is. Another failure.

I have been at a taping of the show. Things can be manipulated. For instance, the performances by musical guests are usually taped first and presented on T.V. later in the show.

It is possible that the audience was told not to boo (again) before the interview was done. The only way to know for sure is to ask people who were actually there in the audience.

Newsbusters reports: Weir Waves Napolitano's 'Right-wing Extremism' Report To Brand Bedell

Excerpt:

John Patrick Bedell was a registered Democrat who believed George W. Bush was behind 9-11.

So how does Good Morning America portray him? As a right-wing extremist, part of a pattern of anti-government violence that flares during Dem presidential administrations . . .

GMA had a two-part segment on Bedell this morning. First came a reasonable report by Martha Raddatz. At one point, as images of the WTC in flames appeared, she did state that "there had been Internet postings, laced with conspiracy theories about 9-11, and government corruption." Raddatz stopped short of mentioning that Bedell explicitly accused the Bush admin of being behind 9-11, calling them a "murderous government" and "collection of gangsters" that sacrificed "thousands of its citizens" on September 11th.

But then came co-host Bill Weir, literally waving Janet Napolitano's report about "right-wing extremism" in the air, and wondering out loud to ABC consultant and former FBI agent Brad Garrett, who was willing to go along, about having seen this before "during past Democratic administrations."

I was just about ready to close down my browser for the night when a new post over at Gateway Pundit caught my eye. TIME Magazine: “Secondary Trauma” May Have Driven Hasan to Slaughter 13 Soldiers.

Go over and read the entire post and comments. Two sentences sum it all up quite accurately:

I think that is the truth in a nutshell! And what an AWFUL unholy alliance it is!! However, only one of those radical ideologies will try to win out here in America (God forbid!!!!) in the end.

I can still recall a photo at Zombietime of a man dressed in Palestinian garb holding a very chilling sign during an anti-war, anti-Israel protest a few years ago. His sign read, "Thank you San Francisco liberals - you die last."

It was difficult to find the photo because the link to it was in the text of this post at Zombietime - "Stop the U.S.-Israeli War rally, San Francisco, August 12, 2006" Caution - some foul language displayed in the signs at the rally.

I ask readers - what do you think that sign means? Why would the protester display it?

Look at the little boy reading the sign. The message was probably written on each side. Was he possibly confused, amazed, horrified or what??

The first time I saw that sign I could not believe it! It's horrible message has stuck in my mind ever since. I have shared the message of that sign several times on this blog. What reactions to that sign do I usually get from liberals who visit here? STONE COLD SILENCE - that's what!

Talk about liberal loons marching with the enemy!!

If you spend any time looking at the photos that were taken at many rabid liberal-leftist rallies over at the Zombietime website - you will see some horrid examples of Bush-hating photos and anti-American/anti-Israel/pro-Palestinian & Muslim/pro-Marxism messages. It's disgusting!! Can't miss the Che Guevara pics and messages on t-shirts, either! This is what the liberal left lunatics represent. Awfully sad - but so true.

Yet, we now have a Resident in Chief who has surrounded himself with people who agree with many of those signs. He also has the disturbing habit of mocking and disparaging the majority of Americans who protest his terrible policies, spending, America-destroying bills and ally- destroying activities.

TEA Party Patriots: Driving Enemies Crazy with Frustration!

A few months ago I decided to join the "Dallas TEA Party" organization just so that I could get their emails and be kept up to date with that extraordinary grassroots movement against big government out there in Texas. I have been receiving several email updates which have been informing me about what the group has been doing (town hall meetings, additional TEA Party events, etc.) and the biased reports (unfortunately) that have been shared via newspapers and the fringe media. Almost always - these fringe media [thank you for that accurate name Glenn Beck!] outlets have been disparaging and/or critical of the group and their peaceful, powerfully accurate protest events. The following is a perfect example:

First of all, Happy Constitution Day!!!



Second, we got a little more 'love' from the Dallas Morning News--this time from the Editorial Board:

[I]f you aren't at least a bit concerned over some of the things on display at the tea party, you aren't thinking it through. Many of the demonstrators' lurid signs bore insane and repugnant messages about Obama. Some utterings, as from the marcher who called the Constitution an extension of the Bible, are extreme. The anger among the marchers was worryingly inchoate.



The tea partiers' main problem is lack of responsible leadership to bring focus, coherence and moderation to their movement. (TV conspiracy crackpot Glenn Beck is a sad choice for a movement guru.) It's more ironic that former House big shot Dick Armey is a key organizer – and the current GOP is cynically fanning the flames – given that he was part of the Washington GOP establishment responsible for the big-government overreach the tea partiers claim to despise.



The tea party movement deserves to be taken seriously. But until and unless it finds a way to police its radical fringes – and articulate its critique in a constructive, rational way that appeals to the great middle – it will not be. And must not be, except as an example of how not to win allies or influence debate.

Some thoughts:



First, Dick Armey's group FreedomWorks WAS heavily involved in promoting the 9-12 March on Washington event. Dick Armey IS NOT a 'key organizer' of the Tea Party movement. There is no 'key organizer'--nor should there be. The Tea Party movement is highly decentralized, which drives its enemies crazy with frustration. Left without a target upon which to focus and tear down, the media sternly warns the great unwashed that 'the movement will never succeed without a leader.' In the meantime, the movement, apparently not knowing any better, continues to grow by leaps and bounds while chalking up one success after another.



Second, the Editors' criticism of Glenn Beck would carry much more weight if the so-called 'conspiracies' Beck is presenting turned out to be false. In reality, Glenn Beck is doing the investigative journalism that newspapers used to do before they apparently retired from the investigative journalism business. On one story after another, the 19th- and 20th-century media outlets have been asleep at the wheel, and it's been left to the 21st-century media to take up the slack. Glenn Beck is no more a leader of the Tea Party movement than Dick Armey is. Beck is, however, a source of useful information and analysis, most of it accurate, thoroughly researched and well-laid-out. If the Editors of local newspapers have an interest in staying in business, they would do well to take notes.



Third, far from being 'unfocused', the Tea Parties and their brothers and sisters in parallel movements (e.g., 9-12 We Surround Them) have been EXTREMELY focused--much to the chagrin of the White House and its allies. On Saturday, they were focused on the U.S. Capitol, in numbers at least several hundred thousand strong. If the movement is so unfocused and 'inchoate,' how is it able to cause so much frustration for the elites who now control the entire legislative and executive apparatus of the federal government? Van Jones is gone. ACORN is being defunded. The Health Care Bill is on life support. The Cap-and-Trade energy tax bill may never again see the light of day. Unicorns and rainbows are on indefinite backorder. How did this happen?



Fourth, public opinion polling has consistently reflected that independent voters identify strongly with the Tea Parties and town hall protesters. A Rasmussen poll released earlier this month indicated that fifty-nine percent of the American people believe town hall protesters are citizens accurately reflecting the concerns of their neighbors.

Finally, anyone with an agenda can identify the most exuberant in a group and find something objectionable. In contrast to the left-wing rallies organized by the President's ardent supporters, the objectionable content at a Tea Party rally is the EXCEPTION rather than the RULE.

Even though I haven't received the photos from the Temecula TEA Party protest yet, I will tell you that the protest was entirely peaceful and without incident. It seems to me that the most trouble was wrought by some of the progressive liberal left lunatics who drove by putting up their middle fingers towards the protesters. Nice...huh?

If they don't like our signs - I say TOUGH!! My sign stated "Obama: YOU LIE!" with some photos alongside the words (like Obama dressed in a tan suit, arms open like in the movie poster of LIAR LIAR!) which expressed many of the lies (and broken promises of the campaign) that he has been caught spewing.

The other side of my poster had huge letters that spelled "CORRUPT" with photos of Obama being for the death of unborn babies; for the scam of Cap and Trade; for special interest criminal groups like ACORN and SEIU; for unconstitutional czars, for the ObamaSCARE HELLcare bill, etc.

Whenever an ObamaBORG Bot drove by and put his/her middle finger up - I showed them the 'CORRUPT' side of my poster! It brought a lot of laughs from the people alongside us on the sidewalk!

There were FAR MORE people driving by, honking their horns in agreement and giving us all a thumbs up for our efforts to speak our minds at the protest. It was a great day...indeed!
