Yesterday, I noticed that Alan Keyes was one of the first to blog about our usurper Resident Obama "bowing" before the Saudi king. Obama’s Bow- Protocol nod or wink of appeasement? Go to the link and see the photo and video in the sidebar. I just can't even bring myself to post it here.
My comment there:
Good post and excellent point, Dr. Keyes. I may have missed it, but I do not think that the video showed any of the other leaders bowing to the Saudi king.
How frightening it is to see how far we have come from "the American custom of refusing to bow or salute any foreign monarch" symbol of allegiance to America and the sovereignty policies from the past.
So many Americans are ignorant (unfortunately) about how certain acts look to the Arab and Muslim world. They might dismiss your very valid concerns here and claim that Obama was just being "respectful." Yeah...right.
When Obama made the mistake of saying he had visited "all 57 states" while campaigning for the presidential election, how many people in America realized that there are 57 Arab/Muslim states? And, recall his interview with George Stephanopoulos (sp?) where Obama stated, "my Muslim faith." No Christian that I know would ever have made such a mistake. Not even close. It was dismissed as a "slip of the tongue," but was it really?
My plan was to share the links to blog posts about this that I have since found in my sidebar. Instead, take a look at how many blogs are discussing this issue via this search titled, Obama bows to Saudi king.
There are probably hundreds, if not thousands of blog posts about this. However, I was curious to see what Jihad Watch had to say. They have the video up and have stated:
Breach of protocol. "Americans do not bow to foreign monarchs because that act signified the monarch's power over his subjects."
"Obama bows down to Saudi King (updated)," by Clarice Feldman at The American Thinker, April 2 (thanks to Doc Washburn):
[...] See Miss Manners on the protocol. Americans do not bow to foreign monarchs because that act signified the monarch's power over his subjects.
Is the Lamestream media reporting on this? I haven't turned on my T.V. yet today. Somehow, I doubt that they will share the concern that such an act brings to the minds of American Patriots. I doubt that they will share that such submission shown to this Saudi king is not only a breach of protocol but may symbolize something far worse in our Usurper-in-chief.
Time to read the American Thinker link.
That link led to another American Thinker post: With bowed head and bended knee.
Conclusion at that link:
The old saying that one picture is worth a thousand words is actually amplified when it comes to cross-cultural communication. I have little doubt that the Muslim world's media will not be as circumspect as their American mainstream colleagues in displaying the demi-prostration of the American leader carrying the name Hussein to the guardian of Islam's holiest cities.
Until evidence is produced that Barack Obama habitually bows and bends his knee before others, I will have to assume that he meant this gesture to carry meaning. It is simply amazing to me that our media will not even present this image to the American public.

Ahhh! I ended up being quite busy today, so forgive me for not including many updates. The following are some comments that I accumulated while reading over at American Thinker. I haven't gotten through them all (last I checked there were several pages with over 250 comments!) however, these were the specific ones that I picked out while reading the first few pages:

to watch.

Ugh
UPDATE: So now he goes off the prepared list of
reporters questions and takes random questions. He
says he'll take a question from a "foreigner" -
realizes his gaffe and says ...." I am the
foreigner".
He says he doesn't want to be accused of gender
bias (ha ha) and he picks a woman whom I believe
he thinks is a Muslim. She's not. She's an Indian
and asks O, when he met with the Indian Prime
Minister, what was discussed to fight the
terrorism against India coming from Pakistan
(Bingo!).
Obama can't answer. Starts to compliment the
magnificence of the Indian prime minister, and she
agrees. The crowd doesn't like that the journalist
supports her PM - Obama shoots back, did you have
something to do with him getting elected? (Strange
is not the word.) And then says, just kidding.
As if the media didn't put the Mansourian
candidate in the White House.
He avoids answering ...........stutters, talks
about many things and then goes off on carbon
footprints. I kid you not. If anyone grabs a video
of that exchange, please forward.

I've called 10 REPUBLICAN congressman in the House and asked them to start impeachment. their staff listened sympathetically, but more importantly they said they are receiving hundreds of calls each week with same request. so my idea is if each one of us called 10 congressman and made a list of who we contacted ,,,,we could have some impact

I cannot imagine the leader of the most powerful nation on earth could disgrace our country in this way unless he truly despised our position in the world.
Our media knows the symbolic significance of this- yet stands in allegiance to him. On January 20th the world became a very dangerous place compared to the day before, which was already dangerous, this gesture of subservience is a disgrace on a scale unimaginable.
The credibility of Sharia in the Muslim world must be skyrocketing today while the gaping vulnerability of the wrong person as US president is not lost on any friend or foe of America.

President Obama is on thin ice already. After just a few weeks in office he has made a series of embarrassing and unacceptable foreign affairs gaffes. It began when he insulted the Japanese Prime Minister Taro Aso by not giving him a full joint press conference with flags. He repeated this mistake when he insulted the British Prime Minister Gordon Brown not long after. Not only did he deny the British PM a proper joint press conference but he also insulted him again with his thoughtless gift of 25 DVDs. The British PM gave Obama a pen holder carved from the wood of HMS Gannet - a Royal Navy anti-slavery ship, its commissioning
certificate and a first edition of a famous Churchill biography. In return,
Obama gave Brown 25 DVDs which do not even play on British machines.
To add insult to injury, the Obamas continued on their gaffe-strewn path to infamy when they visited the Queen at Buckingham Palace and Michelle Obama put her arm round the Queen and hugged her, which is not protocol at all. Then, President Obama bows to the King of Saudi Arabia, apparently without the faintest idea how this gesture would be received throughout the United States and the wider world.
It seems to clear that in 2010 the people of the United States owe it to
themselves to put GOP majorities in both the House and the Senate, and then in 2012 consign this one-term president to the same historical chapter as Buchanan, Harding and Carter before any more damage can be done.

Is this any worse than Bush holding his hand?
Yes Annette, it is much worse.
President Bush walked alongside the Saudi king,
holding his hand. This was a gesture of friendship
between equals; mutual respect between the leaders
of their respective countries.
Barack Obama hurried across the room to grab the
king's hand and bowed low to him. They did not bow
to each other; indeed, the king did not even
return the bow. This is an appropriate exchange
between a servant and his master, a child and an
adult, or an inferior nation to a superior.
That uncultured fool demeaned his office and
disrespected every American living and dead by
abasing himself before the house of Saud.

i find this really quite disturbing and quite illuminating.I cannot believe this was a mistake, this was Obama bowing or if you like grovelling at the feet of a Islamic King.He did not bow to the Queen of England,oh no...only to his Islamic King.
Note Obama also met and spoke in Indonesian with the President of Indonesia and has committed to visiting Indonesia later this year the most populous Islamic state on earth.
Is this the "new world order" Obama speaks about so often now?
I feel sorry for my many friends in the US,you have been charmed by the greatest snake oil salesman since PT Barnum.
Be very careful America,be very careful, this man has another agenda!

I agree with Caolila. I have been pointing out this idiots socialistic ways and the policies his goons in Washingon are pushing through Congress and the House and the uninformed who put this fool in office cannot see the trees for the forest because they are all too busy watching American Idol and Dancing with the Stars to watch the news, read the paper and research what this traitor is doing to our country at lightening speed.

Now the rest of us are stuck in this mess.

It's overwhelminging likely that those documents

Two possible answers here:
1. Bush wasn't being subservient by holding the man's hand while they walked.
Obama wasn't shaking his hand. He bent down to kiss it. What other head of state, in any western country, does that?
2. If liberals were so upset at Bush then where is their pique with Obama?
The State Dept's protocol guidelines recommend that you check the cultural practices of the other country. This didn't take place in Saudi Arabia. What was done is not common cultural practice in London. When in Rome, do as the Romans do. Obama wasn't in Riyadh. /quote
