The Statue

DO YOU KNOW
WHAT THIS IS? WHERE THIS
IS?

This statue
currently stands outside
the Iraqi palace,

Now home to the 4th Infantry
division.

It will
eventually
be shipped home

And put in the
memorial
museum in Fort Hood , TX

The statue
was
created by
an Iraqi
artist named Kalat,
who for years was
forced by
Saddam Hussein to make the many hundreds
of bronze busts
of Saddam that dotted Baghdad .

Kalat was
so
grateful for the Americans liberation of his country;

He
melted 3 of the heads of the fallen
Saddam and made the statue as a
memorial to the American soldiers

and their
fallen
warriors.

Kalat
worked on this
memorial night and day for several months.

To the left of
the
kneeling soldier is a small Iraqi girl giving the soldier comfort
as he mourns the
loss of his comrade in arms.

Do you
know why we
don't hear about this in the news?

Because it
is heart
warming
and
praise worthy...

The media
avoids it
because it does not have the shock effect.

But
we
can do something about it.

We
can
pass this along to as many people as we can in honor of all our
brave
military who are making a difference.

And
please pass this
on!

It's been one of those weeks

Hey Guys~

My apologies, it's just been one of those weeks. You know the kind I'm talking about.. the kind where you are once again reminded about permanence of your situation. Your days are consumed with therapy and doctors appointments. You know they have your "best interest" at heart, but you just want to be left alone to live your life. You need to get away, time to breathe and be yourself. You need to remember how special you are in your family's eyes as well as God. After having 14 shots of Botox and training yet another personal assistant, you have no idea how much I was looking forward to this weekend. Maybe it's just me but I don't feel as if this round of Botox is working like the last one. Although, with this stressful life I live, so many factors could influence it.. As I'm writing this, even, I'm wearing a plastic wrist splint on my left arm and having spasms..

Anyway, these are the days and weeks that I need to be lifted up to "higher ground". This idea is not a new one. In fact last night I came across this devotional than I thought I would share with you. It involves one of my mentors, Joni Erickson Tada. In that, she tells the story of one time she was in a car accident on the way to a speaking engagement. They looked to see whether her legs were swollen-a signal to her that something was going wrong in her body. At first, nothing happened and they proceeded to the airport.

In her own words, I will continue the story: "All seemed fine, so we cautiously proceeded on to the airport. Midway through our flight, my leg began to swell. When we arrived at our destination, an ambulance took me to the hospital where x-rays confirmed I had broken my leg. It was 3:30 a.m. by the time they put on a cast and released me to go back to our hotel. To calm my nerves, I asked God if he would give me a hymn to sing. Immediately, I began humming, "Lord, lift me up and let me stand, by faith on heaven's tableland; a higher plain than I have found - Lord, plant my feet on higher ground." The next day I traveled onto Lancaster Bible College to give the commencement address. As I sat on the platform, the graduation program began with a hymn. The audience stood and sang - I couldn't believe it! - "Still praying as I'm onward bound, 'Lord, plant my feet on higher ground.'" In that moment, she was reminded of God and his constant presence in every circumstances.

Next time you feel down, look around God shows himself in many different ways. I have to remember my citizenship is that of Heaven. Where no pain and discomfort exists

Perception Is Key

After reading Alan Keyes blog post where he asks readers to decide the motives behind Ann Coulter utilizing his name in the title of one of her most recent articles, I shared my opinion in some comments at the Keyes blog.

There are 27 comments at Alan's blog; many of them are good. There are over 6,400 comments written under Ann's article!

It would be best to read Ann's article and Alan's blog post. Then return here to read these comments.

Here is a copy of part of the conversation going on in the comment section at Alan Keyes blog:

I haven't read the article yet. However, my first reaction to that title was that all the controversy over Obama's horrid death-to-unborn-babies mindset is being ignored by the Notre Dame "elites." What's more, is that those who watched these events unfold can see the stark contrast between the pro-life students who stood up for the innocent babies who are being murdered in the womb vs. the indoctrinated, brain-dead and mentally-dirtied students (on this particular subject) who believe "it's not a child - it's a choice." Such a contrast just might push even more Americans towards the current pro-life majority belief category (thus, the "Alan Keyes fundraiser" meaning) into the forefront of the political atmosphere in decisions about supporting (with both their votes and donations) candidates running for office who also hold to the Constitutional Right to Life for unborn babies.

Now I will go and read the article to see if my analysis is correct.

Now that I have read the article and the comments here in this thread, I agree with what "seekyetruth" and some others wrote. She is on your side, was highlighting and disparaging the despicable pro-abortion murder views of liberals, indicated that abortion is a lawless and tragic form of murder for convenience, and such contrast tells Notre Dame that the backlash will help the pro-life side. Ann paid you a wonderful compliment by indicating that you are in the forefront and a leader in the pro-life cause.

Then, two commenters had this to say:

I have said before that I am uneasy with the idea that Ann Coulter is somehow a leader among conservatives.

She is a humorist. She is a very talented humorist, with a lot of wit. She is a boon to the community she serves because everyone needs to laugh. But she is a humorist, not a leader.

Coulter is on the right side of the issues, but that doesn't change the fact that she's a comedian who makes her trade in laughs, not thought. Looking to her for political leadership is like learning astrophysics from George Lucas. Or perhaps climatology from Al Gore.

I have always felt that Ann Coulter was dangerous. But I have come to understand that the danger is not in who she is or what she does, but in the portrayal of her (and other entertainers) as the "voice" of freedom loving Americans. I love having the freedom to enjoy her wit, but I shudder at the thought that she should be considered as speaking on my behalf.

In this instance, I think she was just being funny (maybe without effort, I really don't know how the natively funny are funny all the time if they really have to try at it, but then I wouldn't know). Sadly, for her and everyone else, the country has been fed on the notion she ought to be taken seriously.

For the record, I was a little peeved that she left her only reference to Dr. Keyes as a sort of ambiguous inside joke. That's not a very brave thing for anyone to do, even a comedian. And I would prefer Coulter to stick with being a humorist. But at the end of the day there are considerations much more important than whether an entertainer is a humorist or a comedian.

LOL!!!!

It appears that chiu_chunling is too modest a humorist as well.

I also believe Coulter's "ambiguous inside joke" was the antithesis of bravery. In fact, she's not much different from Bill Maher when you come right down to it.

chiu chunling and groovsmyth,

Who has ever claimed that Ann Coulter is "somehow" a "leader among conservatives?" I don't agree with everything that she states or writes, but a LOT of what she shares, in humor or not, tells the truth about what is going on in the political spectrum. She has a LOT more guts than many Conservative Republicans, Conservative Democrats, and/or Libertarians who often try to stay in the "neutral zone" so as not to offend anyone.

People - it is time to start (or continue) offending!! We can do so without cursing or using the awful tactics of the far left loons. Just sharing the truth about each matter is "offensive" enough to get the left riled up. They EXPECT us to keep silent on such issues - (like telling the truth about this Hispanic Supreme Court judge nominee and her anti-white male racist comments) so as not to "offend" the Hispanic community and thus, lose their votes.

Even though most Hispanics in California voted for ObamaFRAUD (ugh!), they also voted FOR THE PASSAGE OF PROP. 8. On social issues, they vote Conservative. If the Republicans were smart, they would make this known to the general public. Plus, there are a LOT OF PEOPLE who voted for Obama who now regret it!!

I disagree with you, groovsmyth - Ann Coulter's bravery shows every time she appears on T.V. She's not afraid to speak her mind and share her opinion - even though the liberal left loons continue to disparage her. We need more people like her (and Alan Keyes, for that matter!) who are willing to take the negative response drivel of the far left loons; yet continue to speak up for the majority of Americans whose views are either ignored, disparaged, or mocked by the Lamestream Media of Mass Deception.

I applaud her.

I applaud Alan Keyes.

And, if you will re-read my comment, I think that including Alan Keyes' name in the title of her article was a compliment to him.

You know what they say about perceptions. You can read the following in two completely opposite ways:

GODISNOWHERE

You can choose to think it means "God is no where." Or, you can choose to think it means "God is now here."

That's my take on it.

Update:

Alan Keyes has another blog post that deals with what I mentioned about the Hispanic woman Obama has chosen as Supreme Court nominee: Sotomayer and the Tyranny of Race

Excerpt:

In every important respect Obama's victory in the 2008 presidential election was a victory for racism. First there was the racist claim that his skin color made his election somehow significant for black Americans with whom he otherwise shares no common moral or historical heritage. Second, his stubborn advocacy of the parent's right to murder her child made it a victory in principle for the racist notion that "inferior" physical development leaves people with no rights that must be respected by their supposed betters. Third, the US Constitution has been openly set aside on account of fears that racist violence would result from investigating the facts regarding his citizenship at birth (lest they support the conclusion that he is constitutionally ineligible to serve as President of the United States.) Truth, right and the Constitution all sacrificed for the sake of racist fears and premises.

That last sentence in the excerpt sums up exactly why Obama's birth certificate controversy won't get a hearing:

Truth, right and the Constitution all sacrificed for the sake of racist fears and premises.

What a sad day in America!

The Obama Factor
I have made a mistake, no not in being wrong, but in the mistake of viewing people who listen to, vote for or term Barack Obama "intelligent" were judging from the same facts I was.

This manifested in listening to a propagandist professor at Columbia University named Schama who appeared on Charlie Rose. Honestly, Mr. Schama who is a Brit behaves like someone who should be locked up on a mental institution as he reminded me of Dom DeLuise in the movie The End, but by God's inspiration I finally understood what is behind the Obama voters in how they see a disaster in Obama daily as victory unto victory.

It has everything to do with the key phrases of Bill Clinton and Barack Obama which appeal to liberals who are suffering from a psychopathy of being an American.

I will explain in this example. When a Christian such as myself hears George W. Bush speak, they hear code words which only someone who has a God experience can relate to. It is allot like talking about being in combat, unless one is in combat, one can not converse about it.
While God is literally emotion, the Christian like all Conservatives process that emotion in logical format in discerning, evalutating and judging.

Now when a liberal hears, "I feel your pain", from Bill Clinton, they are not processing by intellect, but by emotion. It was brilliant of Clinton to scam a majority of people in this way in knowing that a vast majority of Americans were in pain, in sorrow in distress over burdens they were carrying and Bill Clinton validated that pain, so just like a puppy who has been beaten if someone comes along and cuddles it, that animal will cling to that validation no matter what.
A sort of emotional Pavlov's dog is what Bill Clinton generated to get himself elected twice.

By contrast, a Conservative hearing "I feel your pain", hears by logical deduction, an invasion of their privacy and a weakness on the part of the speaker in appealing to the failures. A Conservative would laugh in response to Clinton as his comfort was unnecessary, but a liberal basks in Clinton with gratitude of making it all feel better, by affirming the owie that hurts.
Yes, a four year old response came from liberals.

Now add to this the thing which Birdie Obama was deep down emotionally telling a majority of Americans who are guilt ridden for having great lives while others suffer around the world. Obama was triggering in those self haters that it was ok to be feeling guilty, that he would tear down America that was so successful in making them feel bad for all their wealth, and to the final degradation of America in the way these people feel inside, Obama would tell the world he was sorry for America and apologize everywhere he went.
This is why he was smiling when Ortega and Chavez were saying horrid things about America. That was the America Obama hates as much as they do and that is the America Obama is going to reform to get rid of the guilt he feels too in it's existence.

Bill Clinton triggered it was ok to feel bad and cry. Barack Obama triggered it was ok to hate America for the guilt you feel and to apologize for it.

These are Freudian triggers on a national scale and the Tavistock manipulators had to have been involved as no one could have just stumbled into this manifestation. The entire Obama sect was deliberately run through a maze like a rat on psychiatric triggering to make it drive itself to sheer exhaustion as has been reported, bankrupt itself and make certain it voted Obama no matter what.

Now for the kicker in this which is the amazing part. If one recalls every time one of these liberals gets into office, the entire entourage is always triumphed as the most intelligent people to ever walk the planet.
Schama and Rose were both straight faced in saying this again about Obama and Axelrod. Schama even posed Obama as William Jennings Bryant, one of the most historically gifted speakers in America.

For people who were not swayed by Obama's monkey in his pants nor for his spell of guilt by Obamanation, those comparisons would be most puzzling to them as all they heard was a rather incoherent Obama, stuttering at times, saying things which were quite boring and nothing that marked prose nor intelligence.
That though is the key in this as Obama, once he triggered the either sexual desires in people, the revenge desires in latinos and blacks against white America or allowed people like Harry Smith to con themselves into believing they weren't racists..............these people had the emotional salivation like Pavlov's dog to a bell. They had been fed. The next step is always with these intellectuals like Rose or Schama is to repair backwards from their emotional triggers which have just been satisfied to MAKE THE TRIGGER THE MOST INTELLIGENT THING TO EVER WALK THE PLANET as this group couches all it is in intelligence.

They will tell you they are more intelligent than Conservatives, when the statistics prove otherwise. They being defeated in the physical world, retreat to a mental veiled world where they deem themselves superior and all inferior, except those who SPEAK TO THEIR EMOTIONS and those people then elevated to "intelligent" as they trigger things in them.

This is what has been missed completely by everyone in this, because liberals are defining intelligence in Obama by how he validates their shame in being Americans.

It does not matter that Obama has bankrupted America, that Axelrod runs the reporters around like Stalin on a leash, that Obama throws flowers at memorials, that Obama has caused the nuclear situation in North Korea, that there are massive foreign policy disasters culiminating due to Obama being inept nor that Obama makes sport of Special Olympics children. None of that matters, because these Obamaniacs are not hearing reality. Their emotions have made them blind. Obama has justified their guilt and that is all that matters to them, because if they deny Obama and note him as being a failure, then they have to take back that guilt and hatred for American success which they think they just were exorcised from.

I knew these people were suffering from a mania. I just never in logical deduction processed they would change the meaning of words like intelligence, when they were in psychopathy speaking about dark emotions being exorcised.

This is how a nation of rather disturbed people was manipulated in their mental problems to vote for a very mundane 10 year old boy named Obama in literally hallucinating him to be intelligent while constantly pounding George Bush who was very intelligent as stupid and Dick Cheney personified as "evil" in their minds due to his success.
That is what is behind Obama's psychotic attacks on the Bush presidency which has led him to absolutely dangerous policies in letting terrorists go, making American cities terrorist targets and the growing problem of communist terror states in North Korea and Iran.

A nation of crazy people literally had their bells rung and they voted for a crazy person they were hallucinating as being their Prince Charming, when the only charm Obama had was a demon monkey in his pants feeding that incubus feel good emotion driving the leg tingler crowd.

Being a sane person in God's Grace, it is difficult at times like these to actually find empathy in the Obama insanity driving so many, as this would never occur to me, thankfully.

But the Holy Spirit does see all and reveals to those who wait upon God.

These people are not hearing intelligence. They are hearing emotional triggers they are succeptable to and then deeming it in emotional process, "intelligence", as that is the god they hide in to protect them from the hurtful world.

Now though as Paul Harvey would say, "You know the rest of the story".

Unpaid at LIN

Take Some Time Off

Unpaid, voluntary “furloughs” for LIN TV (KXAN and KNVA TV) Austin/Central Texas employees were announced Wednesday (May 27, 2009) in email from the LIN Corporate office in Providence, Rhode Island. Locally, Eric Lassberg broke the bad news in the routine quarterly staff meeting today before the emails hit the inboxes.

Earlier this month in a post entitled “Cuts at KXAN” NewsMcNabb quoted ominous predictions included in the LIN TV annual report. ““Given the state of the economy and the level of uncertainty in predicting advertising revenue, the Company has defined a series of further cost reduction actions that the Company could potentially enact and largely realize during the remainder of 2009,” according to Vincent L. Sadusky, LIN TV chief operating officer.

The first evidence of these cost reductions is apparently the voluntary furloughs. “It’s typical stuff in tough times,” said Eric Lassberg, KXAN president and general manager. The voluntary unpaid furloughs will be subject to specific criteria and applicable to all departments, according to Lassberg. “They are open to any employee,” Lassberg said.

The announcement of the furloughs was sent via email to all LIN TV employees nationwide. LIN TV owns and operates or programs 27 full power television stations in 17 mid-sized markets. Austin is the nation’s 49th market.

Playing catch-up

Okay,

So right now, I'm busy playing catch-up with my blog posts. As Friday's post explains, I was definitely ready for the weekend. My life can be so hectic sometimes. I realize my encouragement post have been lacking for a while now. I hope I have some more time to find more inspirational stuff soon. But for now, I came across the 53rd Disability Blog Carnival. This time, the Carnival covers a variety of issues relating to the disabled community. Maybe it's just me, but usually I find some posts that are funny and lift my spirits
http://theriverofjordan.blogspot.com/2009/02/disability-blog-carnival-53-pot-luck.html

OK, so the Texans are pretty bad...

(image courtesy of The Brit 2 via Flickr and used in accordance to Creative Commons terms)

How bad?...

Ouch...
Albert Einstein supposedly once said, “Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result.” It doesn’t take an Einstein to see that the Clippers are an insanely bad sports franchise. Under owner Donald Sterling, the team has had just two winning seasons since 1981.

But the Clippers franchise isn’t even the worst on our list of America’s “losingest” teams. The Clippers came in fourth place (maybe the first time the team has finished so high in a contest of any sort). No. 1? Ladies and gentlemen, your Memphis Grizzlies, who have won less than a third of the games they’ve played in the team’s inglorious history. Other losers include the Houston Texans and the Tampa Bay Lightning.

(snip)

The "top" Five

5. Tampa Bay Buccaneers
4. Los Angeles Clippers
3. Houston Texans
2. Charlotte Bobcats
1. Memphis Grizzlies

It's pretty simple: The Houston Texans have the worst expansion record ever consistently rank near the bottom in the SI Player's poll of 'best/worst organizations', a fact not helped by their 2008 OTA controversies. The latter is somewhat surprising because, by all accounts, Bob McNair is a classy guy as an owner.

Who knows if, in 2009, this perception will get any better? Already the Texans are dealing with allegations that Rick Smith (GM) lied to fan-favorite Dunta Robinson, and there's precious little evidence that they've upgraded a shaky secondary. Maybe, if the pass rush improves enough the secondary can be 'hidden' a little. Couple that possibility with what should be an improving offense and a weakening division and the Texans might be playing meaningful football in December for a change......

Of course, we thought that before, remember? Fresh on the heels of the best season in franchise history (2004), 2005 the Carriage turned back into a pumpkin, Houston realized just how bad the David Carr pick would turn out to be, and Dom Capers was shown the door.

Of course, optimists will tell you this is what led to the removal of Casserly and Capers, leading to the bright sun-shine of the Kubiak/Smith/Denver Bronco's Lite era.

You know, Denver, the Texan's NFL role model?

Aw geez.

This Is A Great Letter!

Exclusive: A Letter to Rupert Murdoch on the Obama Birth Certificate Question
by DefendUSx

May 27, 2009 02:49

Please note that Rupert Murdoch owns most of the news agencies in the country. He is a "Media Mongul" and a Globalist who has attended Bilderberg meetings (this last one too, if i'm not mistaken) for destroying America's sovereignty thus achieving the next step in a global government geopolitical agenda. This is a very well written letter, but will not change Murdoch's views. He is in way too deep with the "Elites".

From Family Security Matters
May 27, 2009 (letter sent on 14th)
John D. Hemenway, Esq.

Editor’s note: The following is a letter written by John D. Hemenway, Esq. that was sent to NewsCorp CEO Rupert Murdoch via certified mail.

May 14, 2009

Dear Rupert,

You will likely not have retained a clear memory of me from Worcester College in the early fifties. Much time has elapsed from when we both read “P.P.E.” under Asa Briggs and the others. I had looked forward to cementing our friendship when the death of your father caused you simply to “disappear” from those at Worcester.

Much later, during several visits to my Washington, D.C. home, my moral tutor, David Mitchell, filled me in on the magnificent assistance you provided the College. Perhaps you also had something to do with the “Mitchell Building” erected just off Walton Street.

Everyone who shares your views is pleased at the nearly unprecedented success story you have made of your life. I was very pleased when you became an American, even if some persons attributed your motivation as calculated to expand your economic interests. Pure jealousy! You and your accomplishments have been good for us all.

From time to time, I try to keep up with interesting details concerning your news empire. From that reading, I am certain you and I have many opinions in common. I subscribe to the N.Y. Post, which one can acknowledge is “tabloidish,” but describes real N.Y. City life and the Post’s editorial staff certainly offers solid opinions pertaining to U.S. governmental problems. “Fox News” also makes an outstanding contribution to public awareness of the issues confronting the country.

You may recall the vital contribution Worcester’s Provost John Masterman made to the winning of WWII; he was a key figure, as I remember, in organizing the counter-espionage effort against the Nazis. I write you now concerning a problem nearly of that magnitude.

Rupert Murdoch, Chairman, N.Y. Post
1211 Avenue of the America
New York, N.Y. 10036

That problem is this: the man now occupying the White House is likely Constitutionally unqualified to hold the office. As an adopted American, you will have studied the U.S. Constitution better than many Americans, and from P.P.E. studies know that the Constitution has flexible clauses and hard, literal clauses. One of the latter is the requirement of Article II, Section 1, which states: “No person except a natural-born citizen…shall be eligible to the Office of the President.”

There are indications that Obama cannot meet that requirement. As an attorney, I facilitated a lawsuit (Hollister vs. Soetoro et al.) in the United States District Court (D.C. Circuit) demanding that Obama produce his birth certificate or satisfactory substitute evidence. There are about 20 similar lawsuits across the nation. In my case, U.S. District Court Judge Robertson (a Clinton appointee), who summarily dismissed the case, and is rumored to be seeking an Obama appointment, wrote that Obama’s eligibility had been “blogged, texted, twittered, and otherwise massaged by America’s vigilant citizenry.” In other words, he accepted internet “blogs” in lieu of actual evidence.

He ordered me to “show cause” why I should not be sanctioned for promotion of a “frivolous” lawsuit. (It is significant that, although dismissed, none of the twenty odd similar legal actions have been designated by the responsible judge as “frivolous.”)

Other lawsuits have usually been dismissed for “lack of standing” including a lawsuit brought by Presidential candidate, Ambassador Alan Keyes. If anyone has standing, it is an actual Presidential contender. I provided Judge Robertson 37 pages of explanation as to “why I should not be held in contempt” and he decided to “reprimand” me instead of his threatened sanctions. That case is now under appeal.

Any rational person with even partial knowledge of the facts must know that Obama-cum-Soetoro is desperate to conceal something he does not want known. I believe he is hiding the fact that he and his campaign conspired to assert eligibility for the Presidential office to which he well may not be entitled. In other parts of the world, this would be known as a coup d’etat.

Yet, “mainstream” news services, members of officialdom, judges, including justices of the U.S. Supreme Court have all failed to demand documentation to prove or disprove Obama’s qualifications to serve in the White House.

It is as if a 53% vote is a substitute for an actual determination of the legal qualifications of Obama to be President. It is also evident that consequential people in America all believe the “vetting” of qualifications to be a presidential candidate should have been someone else’s responsibility. Revelation of this massive collapse of the fundamentals of the electoral process (ensuring candidate eligibility) at this point would make some very important people look hopelessly incompetent and inept.

Sadly, that includes your “Fox News.” There are reports that top management of Fox instructed its commentators to stay away from the subject – a strange position for a service that deservedly won a reputation for “fair and balanced” reporting. I cannot believe that you would issue such an order, with your good sense. Was it Roger Ailes or someone else? When I worked with Accuracy in Media (AIM) several decades ago, news manipulation by Ailes never filled the staff with confidence. On May 1, Sean Hannity referred to Ailes as his “boss!”

It is also disturbing that a report circulates that a Saudi national who bought enough stock to win a seat on the board of Fox’s parent company, a Saudi prince, asked you to stop Fox from referring to Muslim youth unrest as “Muslim” riots – he boasted later at a conference in Dubai, that after a phone call to you, thirty minutes later, Fox removed the banner from the bottom of its screen, “Muslim” riots. Given this revelation, many FOX devotees are wondering why the eligibility issue has been ignored by your network.

This constitutional question is one of vital importance to the U.S. It is not as if we wanted to startle our contemporaries with actions calculated to stir up our contemporaries as you once did at Worcester with your bust of Lenin. Or as I did when ruffling feathers of our stuffy dean (who guarded the door of “his” library from allowing anyone actually to touch one of his rare books). After you left for Australia to tend to family problems, I hung a huge American flag from the windows of the Nuffield Building on the 4th of July. The dean’s order (conveyed to me by my scout) still rings in my ears, “Take that damn thing down!”

The “natural-born” clause in our Constitution is a rigid, not a flexible clause. In that respect, it is analogous to the banning of “cruel or unusual” punishments, a clause dear to the hearts of our founding fathers. They certainly heard tales from their grandfathers drawn directly from English experience of ingenious cruelties accompanying the crime of “Regicide” after “dictator” Oliver Cromwell died peacefully in his bed. The fact that the English could not devise a way to govern themselves without inviting the king back may suggest that you modify somewhat your prediction (which I read somewhere) that this will be the last British generation that will live under a monarchy! I recall the first review of my educational “progress” at term’s end in “Hall” at Worcester when David Mitchell described my understanding of English history as limited to “King John was a bad king!”

Since you are now an American, and a good one, too, I have no doubt that you will seek to support the Constitution every way you think wise. Consider that, having won election on a campaign that promised “openness and transparency,” Obama now has spent close to $1 million for concealment of his birth and academic records, which are the only means to prove his eligibility. A birth certificate would cost less than $20.00 to request from the State of Hawaii.

Obama has produced no documents at all that would support his claim to eligibility to office. Is it no longer responsible to claim that “the public has a right to know the truth?” Moreover, even if born in Hawaii, as he claims, Obama’s travel to Pakistan (when Americans reportedly were banned from travel there) in 1981 raises other, complicated issues.

Why did his supporters produce a misleading “certification of live birth” instead of an actual vault birth certificate? Forensic experts have testified that the Certification of Live Birth is a forgery; written on a laser printer, when such printers were not available in 1961.

This evokes shades of Richard Nixon’s problems with typewriters (not just once, re: Alger Hiss; but a second time, when Nixon was caught back-dating documents for the I.R.S.) It makes me proud that in his secret tapes, Nixon referred to me, saying, “Fire the son-of-a-bitch, he’s done this before!” – a reference to my testimony before the Senate against incompetent or dishonest Nixon appointees, such as Helmut Sonnenfeldt (known locally as “Kissinger’s Kissinger) who failed confirmation as Deputy Secretary of Treasury because of my testimony before the Senate Finance Committee.

I also testified against the first “career” foreign service officer ever to fail confirmation in the 182 year history of the U.S. Senate: Howard Mace, who was Director of Personnel of the Department of State, who lost his appointment as Ambassador to Sierra Leone. Senate testimony may ultimately prove useful in this Obama matter, despite the composition of the Congress at this time.

Nixon’s firing order directly led me to study law at Howard University, the prestigious largely African-American University in Washington, D.C. Nixon’s denunciation of me, in fact, boosted me in the eyes of the Dean at Howard and got me to this point.

In conclusion, I can tell you this as fact. America badly needed your brilliant creation: Fox News. But if Fox News really is to be a voice for rational conservatism in the United States, it cannot ignore this vital constitutional question: We have a man occupying the White House who refuses to disclose the very documents that would legitimate his Presidency. Was it not a cover-up that undid Richard Nixon? Please instruct your personnel from Roger Ailes on down that they are encouraged (not forbidden) to report all of the news, including that pertaining to Article II, Section 1 of the U.S. Constitution.

With best regards, your supporter, friend, and admirer,

Cartwright 1

Justice 0

Is Richard "the media" Justice really trying to equate what he does daily to real, honest journalism? Maybe he's just mad that Cartwright didn't even deem him worthy of being named?

Most customers, and other readers (self included), understand that the Houston Chronicle Sports Section is nothing more than a place to check up on scores of games you missed over a weekend out of town. For analysis there are much better team-specific blogs and bloggers out there who do a better, more entertaining, job relaying the meaning of what just happened. Going to the Chron for that is akin to going to a 3-year old to get a fact based account of a candy-snatching: It's likely to be nothing more than a bunch of histrionics and crying.

Oddly enough, much like Justice' response.

My Savior's Always There For Me

My daughter and I recently got into a conversation regarding those who label themselves as atheist, agnostic, or skeptics. She shared her belief that many such people are often highly intelligent. Despite the fact that they have heard the Gospel, - they choose not to believe it is Truth. She mentioned that they are probably "too intelligent for their own good."

There is a LOT of truth to her statement!

God favors faith and wisdom over and above intelligence. That is why the Bible tells us that we are to "become as little children" - trusting and believing in His Son for our salvation.

My daughter also mentioned to me that there is a man who stands on the sidewalk of her college campus with a sign that reads, "religion is a crutch." That sign angers her and she often wanted to confront the man with some facts about FAITH in Jesus Christ - and the difference between KNOWING THE SAVIOR - vs. just believing in a "religion."

People can be sincere in their "religious" beliefs - including the religious belief of atheism, agnosticism, or skepticism. However, they can be (and often are - according to the Bible) sincerely WRONG in such anti-
God beliefs.

The facts are undeniable about Jesus. Jesus Christ is a genuine historical Person who lived, preached the Gospel during his three year ministry on earth, performed miracles among thousands of witnesses, healed the sick, the disabled, and the demon-possessed; and brought some back to life from death. Christ was crucified for our sins, died, and was buried. Three days later, he rose from the dead as he previously said he would.

This proves who He is.

Every other religious leader died - and stayed dead in the grave. However, Christ's tomb was, is, and forevermore remains empty!

Contrary to what the man on campus with the sign thinks, the truth is that belief in Jesus Christ is no crutch. It is salvation for the lost. The only way to be reconciled to the Father for all eternity. As Aaron Shust states in his beautiful song, "My Savior, My God" -

My strength, my solace from this spring;
That He who lives to be my King
Once died to be my Savior

That He would leave His place on high
And come for sinful man to die
You count it strange, so once did I
Before I knew my Savior

I just love this song! I think that you will too!

The video below is Aaron Shust performing "My Savior, My God" on The Logan Show. A simple but beautiful and passionate song that shares the eternal message of Jesus Christ being our Savior and King of our lives here on this earth - and for all eternity!

Enjoy!

Lyrics to My Savior My God :

I am not skilled to understand
What God has willed, what God has planned
I only know at His right hand
Stands one who is my Savior

I take Him at His word and deed
Christ died to save me; this I read
And in my heart I find a need
Of Him to be my savior

That He would leave His place on high
And come for sinful man to die
You count it strange, so once did I
Before I knew my Savior

Chorus (2x's)
My Savior loves, My Savior lives
My Savior's always there for me
My God: He was, my God; He is
My God is always gonna be

Yes, living, dying, let me bring
My strength, my solace from this spring;
That He who lives to be my King
Once died to be my Savior

That He would leave His place on high
And come for sinful man to die
You count it strange, so once did I
Before I knew my Savior

Personal update

Welcome back~

I hope everybody had an enjoyable Memorial weekend. This is one of those holidays that we tend to dismiss, forgetting the ultimate sacrifice that it takes to keep this country free. Sunday's sermon reminded me of that, comparing the soldier's sacrifice to that of Jesus. In the same way, a soldier puts away any regard for his own life to save others, so does God. After all, doesn't it say, "Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends." John 15:12-14. I felt as if that day was a fresh start for me-allowing me to see everything in a uniquely new perspective than before. Anyway, I thought I would share my musings with you.

On a personal note, I just had my second round of Botox. This one was more painful than the last; having a total of 14 shots, most of them on my left arm. We've seen some improvement, but I continue to be confused by the doctor's response. Even though he is impressed, he is still suggesting that we think about surgery. Once again, I am stuck in the middle of figuring out what I want and what other people think is best for me.

Austin May Sweeps Results

KVUE News

Still Rules

The competition is tight but KVUE TV (ABC) once again is walking away from May sweeps with an overall win. Taken as a whole, KVUE won all but one of the weekday newscasts. In most time slots KXAN TV (NBC) was right on their tails with KEYE TV (CBS) falling to third and sometimes fourth behind KTBC (Fox).

It is worth noting that this is the last rating period before all stations turn off their analog transmitters and broadcast only in digital TV. The DTV transition is June 12, 2009. This time, there will be no further delays. KEYE TV (CBS) was the only station broadcasting only in digital during these sweeps weeks. The competition was using both their transmitters. Also, the digital footprint may be different from that of the analog signal. So, it can be argued that KEYE was at somewhat of a disadvantage.

A win is a win, however, and Frank Volpicella, KVUE TV news director, is happy heading into the Memorial Day weekend. “I’m honored that once again the viewers in Central Texas chose KVUE News as their primary source of news and information in the Austin market,” Volpicella said. “I have a talented staff of dedicated journalists who work hard each day to serve our viewers. It’s because of their hard work … KVUE News the news to watch in the Austin market.”

Weekday morning ratings were all over the place. KVUE edged out Fox in the 5 a.m. hour when Austin’s eyes are barely open, followed closely by KXAN. The 6 a.m. hour has KXAN surging ahead, followed closely by KVUE and KTBC (Fox). You recall that Olga Campos joined Melissa Gale on KVUE’s Daybreak. KEYE with Michelle Valles and Fred Cantu was a distant fourth both hours.

KVUE won all evening weekday newscasts—5 p.m., 6 p.m., and 10 p.m. KXAN was in the #2 spot for all weekday evenings. KTBC was #3 at 10 p.m. with The Simpsons, pushing KEYE from #2 to #4. KEYE was also #4, behind KTBC News at 5 p.m. and TMZ on KTBC at 6 p.m.

The weekends were something of a hodge-podge. KVUE, KXAN, and KEYE were 1, 2, and 3 Saturday night at 10 p.m. Sunday, KXAN was #1, followed by KVUE and KEYE. It should be said that KTBC’s 9 p.m. newscast scored good numbers when compared to other station’s 10 p.m. ratings. It is impossible to say whether they would be that strong if they ran head to head in the same time slot.

Because KTBC TV is the only VHF (Very High Frequency) station in town on Channel 7, their footprint is bigger and their reach is farther than much of the competition. Only KXAN can compete because its news is rebroadcast on its full-power UHF (Ultra High Frequency) station, KXAM TV from a tower near Llano. That power advantage that KTBC has held since the 1950s also ends with the DTV transition.

The next sweeps month is July. I’ve always called it a “stupid book” because of Daylight Saving Time and fewer students at The University of Texas. The first chance to see Austin stations truly on a level playing field are the all-important November sweeps. Assuming no major changes between now and then, November, 2009 will be the new measure for which station rules the ratings in Central Texas.

Busy Friday

Hey Guys~

Summer has arrived and it's hard to believe that time has passed so quickly. As I gear up for this Memorial Day weekend, I realize that there is so much more to look forward to in the coming months. I plan on going on a cruise to celebrate one of my best friend's journey to marriage. It will be one of her last adventures as a single woman; hopefully, this time together will deepen our friendship.

Now, on to today's post..

Growing up, I haven't lost sight of how grateful I am to be living in the United States of America. After all, this is the land of opportunity-where all men are created equal. Unfortunately, this philosophy isn't perfect. Take for example a recent survey done in the United kingdom. This article shows that equality is not about what can be gained, but how people are treated as a part of the human race. So, in reality, it has less to do with the laws and more to do with the ethical treatment of people.

Food for thought.

Two Flight 93 Memorial Project Commissioners Quit

Two Memorial Project Commission members quit over the Project’s bad behavior

Blogburst logo, petition

Two Pennsylvanian’s quit the Flight 93 Memorial Commission last week, protesting Park Service plans to condemn five crash-site properties that it never negotiated for in good faith. Consider the case of the Lambert family, who have been on their land for three generations:
"It's absolutely a surprise. I'm shocked by it. I'm disappointed by it," said Tim Lambert, who owns nearly 164 acres that his grandfather bought in the 1930s. The park service plans to condemn two parcels totaling about five acres — land, he said, he had always intended to donate for the memorial.

"To the best of my knowledge and my lawyer, absolutely no negotiations have taken place with the park service where we've sat down and discussed this," Lambert said.

Lambert said he had mainly dealt with the Families of Flight 93 and said he's provided the group all the information it's asked for, including an appraisal.
They are condemning land that he was trying to GIVE to them, just because he had the gall to expect the Park Service to actually do its part.

Project members have embraced the “absolute moral authority” conceit

How dare anyone not rush to give these grieving 9/11 family members whatever they want? Didn’t they hear Maureen Dowd’s proclamation that “the moral authority of parents who bury children killed in Iraq [or on 9/11] is absolute”?

When crash-site owner Mike Svonavec put up a donation box to try to cover some of the cost of hiring security guards for the hugely popular Temporary Memorial, Patrick White, cousin of Flight 93 hero Louis Nacke, told the press:
That land has been paid for with 40 lives ... the donation box is an insult to that cost.
When Svonavec insisted that the Park Service follow its own legally required procedures for assessing property values (procedures that, as it happens, take into account current property values, not just pre-crash property values), White accused Svonavec of trying to profit from the blood of his cousin:
"I think Svonavec believes his land, because it has the blood of my cousin and 39 other people, it's worth more," he said.

Using the flag of victim-hood to defend Paul Murdoch’s terrorist memorial mosque

Project members use the same trick to deflect criticism of the giant Islamic-shaped crescent that is now being built on the crash-site. When people point out the hidden terrorist memorializing features—things that no one knew about when the Crescent of Embrace design was chosen—like the Mecca-orientation of the giant crescent, or the 44 glass blocks emplaced along the flight path, Project members not only deny these easy to verify facts, but they pretend that they are being accused of intending to honor the terrorists:
“That’s an absolute, unequivocal fabrication that is being portrayed as fact,” said Edward Felt’s brother, Gordon Felt [about the 44 blocks claim].

He says he is insulted people would believe he would participate in anything that honored his brother's killers.
In The Church of Liberalism, Ann Coulter slammed the media for granting the Jersey Girls an “absolute moral authority” card, not questioning the Girls’ practice of blaming the Bush administration instead of al Qaeda for their husband's deaths on 9/11. The Jersey Girls were bad enough, but nowhere is the flag of victim-hood being used to cover up more bad behavior than at the Memorial Project.

Active cover-up of an ongoing Islamic supremacist plot

Like the Jersey Girls, the Memorial Project gives Islam a pass for 9/11. Project members might not have known about the Mecca-orientation of the Crescent of Embrace, but they DID know that it was a giant Islamic-shaped crescent. Now they are doing far worse. Now they DO know that the giant crescent points almost exactly at Mecca, and are consistently misleading the press about it.

Their own Muslim consultant told them not to worry about the Mecca-oriented crescent, claiming that it can’t be seen as a mihrab (the Mecca-direction indicator around which every mosque is built) unless it points EXACTLY at Mecca (a claim that was contradicted earlier this month by Saudi religious authorities).

So what does Project Supervisor Joanne Hanley say when asked about the Mecca-orientation claim?
The only thing that orients the memorial is the crash site.
They are actively and knowingly covering up clear evidence of an ongoing al Qaeda sympathizing plot. Bad behavior indeed.

More Spatial High Jinks 2: How to Build a Park in Jerusalem

Jerusalem

Last week, we read in The New York Times that “Israel is quietly carrying out a $100 million, multiyear development plan in some of the most significant religious and national heritage sites just outside the walled Old City here as part of an effort to strengthen the status of Jerusalem as its capital.”

As part of the plan, garbage dumps and wastelands are being cleared and turned into lush gardens and parks, now already accessible to visitors who can walk along new footpaths and take in the majestic views, along with new signs and displays that point out significant points of Jewish history.

To be intentionally obvious and understated, the plan is controversial.
