A powerful bomb went off, today morning, outside the Delhi High Court, located in the heart of the capital. 24 people are injured, Delhi Police has confirmed.
As per eyewitnesses the blast was very loud and powerful. Police is not ruling out the possibility of the blast being a terrorist bomb attack. The bomb is said to have been placed in a suitcase and left near gate number five of the court.
Amid pandemonium, they are being moved to nearby hospitals like Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, Safdarjung Hospital and Lady Hardinge Medical College and Hospital.
Gate number five of the High Court is near the reception, and is very crowded in the mornings as people queue up to gain entry into the court.
Delhi Police Commissioner BK Gupta is at the spot. The entire area has been cordoned off; forensics teams already at work to collect evidence.
On May 25, a blast had ripped through the parking lot of the High Court, but the police are yet to crack to the case.
As per people who were present in the court that day as well are claiming that today’s blast was more powerful than the last one.
