"Got a little bored when i was sick so i decided to change my name for one week," he tweeted last night, directing his 3.6 million-plus followers to follow his alter-ego, aka "Swag," on Twitter and watch a video in which he announced his most recent name change, along with an entourage that included Ray-J.
"I'm not dead, I'm alive!" he hollers in the YouTube video. "So I decided that I'm gonna change my name for a week, in honor of my comeback," he continues. "For this week only, you can call me by my new name, Swag."
His fans seem to like the latest name switch. "It's called self branding #economics101 #brilliant," one follower tweeted. As for why Swag, another fan tweeted: "New name for a week is Swag because its the truth!!!"
Over the years, the producer, rapper, fashion designer and actor has been known as P. Diddy, Diddy, Puff, Puff Daddy, King Combs and Puffy.
Recently, Diddy canceled a series of tour dates, causing some media outlets to speculate the Diddy Dirty Money performances had been cancelled due to poor ticket sales. The Diddy camp countered it was due to "production and technical logistics."
