King of Books

Has dishonesty disproportionately risen in the minds, hearts, souls, and spirits of many Americans over the course of the last decade?  Or has it just seemed that way?  Perhaps it has something to do with the exposure that the Internet has given us about the Lamestream Media's extreme liberal bent and nonobjective reporting.  I can't even calculate how many visitors have come to this blog to read various posts over the past 2 years in order to find out what the media of mass deception is covering up about Obama.  Has it always been this way?  Or has dishonesty and lies increased exponentially since the campaign, election, and terrible governance of the puppet Obama, his evil puppeteers, and the clueless minions who blindly follow?

Note these verses that describe a "liar":

Jhn 8:44 "You are of [your] father the devil, and the desires of your father you want to do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own [resources], for he is a liar and the father of it.

1Jo 1:10 If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.

1Jo 2:4 He who says, "I know Him," and does not keep His commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.

1Jo 2:22 Who is a liar but he who denies that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist who denies the Father and the Son.

1Jo 5:10 He who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; he who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed the testimony that God has given of His Son.

Did you notice how many verses deal with the term "liar" being equated with the outright denial of Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord having been sent by the Father?

The Bible mentions "liars" five times within it's pages:

Psa 116:11 I said in my haste, "All men [are] liars."

1Ti 1:8 But we know that the law [is] good if one uses it lawfully,

1Ti 1:9 knowing this: that the law is not made for a righteous person, but for [the] lawless and insubordinate, for [the] ungodly and for sinners, for [the] unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,

1Ti 1:10 for fornicators, for sodomites, for kidnappers, for liars, for perjurers, and if there is any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine,

1 Ti 1:11 according to the glorious gospel of the blessed God which was committed to my trust.

Tts 1:12 One of them, a prophet of their own, said, "Cretans [are] always liars, evil beasts, lazy gluttons."

Rev 2:2 "I know your works, your labor, your patience, and that you cannot bear those who are evil. And you have tested those who say they are apostles and are not, and have found them liars

Rev 2:3 "and you have persevered and have patience, and have labored for My name's sake and have not become weary.

*******

The book of Revelation verses above instruct us in how to deal with those who have been found to be liars. We are to "persevere and have patience, and labor for My name's sake" (Christ's) and not become weary.

Are you weary with all of the cheating, lying, injustice, harm, instability, treason, and traitorous acts of the current administration? I certainly am. More and more bloggers are writing that they can't wait for the 2012 election. It can't get here fast enough in order to get this evil administration out of office.

What about that Harold Camping character who passes himself off to be a preacher with "special knowledge" and claimed to have known about the exact date (purportedly, May 21, 2011) of the end of the world?

Those Christians who are very familiar with what the Bible has to say about this topic were not fooled by this lying, so-called "prophet." And now, some non-Christians think that because this particular idiot made such a mistake, it somehow shows how ignorant Christians may be. Well, it is more likely that the Bible-based Christians were not fooled because they take what the Scriptures say to heart:

Mat 24:23 "Then if anyone says to you, 'Look, here [is] the Christ!' or 'There!' do not believe [it].

Mat 24:24 "For false christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.

Mat 24:25 "See, I have told you beforehand.

*******

We have been TOLD BEFOREHAND by Jesus Himself in Scripture just whom we should avoid. Knowing what is in the Bible (and what isn't) is INVALUABLE for our endeavor to recognize the truth!

Jesus Himself that some of the "great signs and wonders to deceive" might be so convincing, that if possible, it could fool "even the elect." This means that the elect will come to their biblically based sensible logic (a.k.a. discernment) in order to recognize the truth from the lies. God's Word tells us just Whom helps us out!

Jhn 16:12 "I still have many things to say to you, but you cannot bear [them] now.

Jhn 16:13 "However, when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own [authority], but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.

Jesus was speaking about the Holy Spirit who would lead us and guide us unto all truth. We also have fellow Christians who can help us discern better than we could on our own. The key is to be sure that what is being shared agrees with what is in Scripture.

Relying on our own senses alone, without faith, ends in death; both physically and spiritually. The Word of God - which includes God's Living Word - Jesus Christ, God's written Word - the Bible, and God's sent Counselor - the Holy Spirit - all need faith and belief. Jesus told Thomas:

Jhn 20:29 Jesus said to him, "Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed. Blessed [are] those who have not seen and [yet] have believed."

The Apostle John recorded what Jesus said would be the eternal destination of those who do not repent and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ in order to be saved unto all eternity:

Rev 21:8 "But the cowardly, unbelieving, abominable, murderers, sexually immoral, sorcerers, idolaters, and all liars shall have their part in the lake which burns with fire and brimstone, which is the second death."

I enjoy getting Dr. David Jeremiah's "Turning Points Devotional" weeks before the next issue appears online. The May issue is still on the David Jeremiah.org website, but on June 1, 2011, be sure to visit the site to see next month's issue: "The Test of Time." I have already started reading it and it is awesome! And, with a gift of $100.00 or more, you can receive A Visual History of the English Bible plus a free copy of How We God the Bible pamphlet. I have already sent for both through the mail!

I plan to discuss more about the June devotional in future blog posts. For now, I will close with one quote that informs us of just how very important God's Word is in our lives:

"The Bible is worth all other books which have ever been printed," Said Patrick Henry. Other books will come and go, but only one endures through the ages and spans eternity."

That is why the Bible is the king of books!
Mat 24:35 "Heaven and earth will pass away, but My words will by no means pass away.

Mat 24:36 "But of that day and hour no one knows, not even the angels of heaven, [fn] but My Father only.
