will.I.am, who is best known as one fourth member of the successful group Black Eyed Peas, has a new job with Intel, a global technology company and the world’s largest computer chip maker. The two parties have entered into a two-year employment contract.
Intel made the announcement that will.i.am was appointed Director of Creative Innovation on Tuesday (January 25) during the company’s sales and marketing conference at the Anaheim Convention Center. His specific duties are yet to be exposed but it will involve assisting the company in ways to attract the younger consumer to their products.
“It’s imperative that Intel and our innovations are kept in front of the global youth culture that embraces new devices and new forms of communication and entertainment,” explained Deborah Conrad, head of marketing for Intel.
For the versatile rapper and producer this position fell right into his normal process. “Nearly everything I do involves processors and computers, and when I see an Intel chip I think of all the creative minds involved that help to amplify my own creativity. Teaming up with the scientists, researchers and computer programmers at Intel to collaborate and co-develop new ways to communicate, create, inform and entertain is going to be amazing.”
