Can Someone Tell Me Why This is O.K.??

Just received an email from PFOX (Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays and Gays) and this is what was written in it:

Steele Rejects Former Homosexuals, Applauds Gay Former RNC Chairman

Ex-Gays met with Ed Gillespie, Steele's predecessor

Washington, DC - Sept. 1, 2010/Republican National Committee Chairman (RNC) Michael Steele's actions are a slap in the face to Ex-Gays and conservatives who support traditional marriage. After former RNC Chairman Ken Mehlman came out of the closet as a homosexual last week to advocate for gay marriage, Steele commented that he was "happy for Ken" and "respects him personally and professionally."

"So Steele respects the former leader of the GOP who now stands in contradiction to his own party's official platform, but refuses to meet with Ex-Gays who support the party's values," commented Christopher Doyle, former homosexual and Board Member of Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays and Gays (PFOX).

"Steele can respect anyone he wants to personally, but it is troubling that the Chairman is using his position to applaud Mehlman, who was deceitful about his sexual preference during his leadership of the RNC," said Doyle.

In a 2009 interview with GQ Magazine, Steele went on record saying he believes marriage should be between a man and a woman, but that he wanted to make the Republican Party more "accessible" and didn't need to "backslide" on the party's values to do that.

Steele also said he believed the prevailing view was that people who have same-sex attractions are born that way, and that they can't stop being gay, just as African-Americans can't stop being Black.

In the past, Ex-Gays met with Ed Gillespie, one of Steele's RNC predecessors. To date, PFOX has made a dozen requests to sit down with the Chairman so he can meet former homosexuals, understand the origins of same-sex attraction, and learn how people can change, but Steele has refused to meet with leaders of the Ex-Gay movement, including African-Americans.

"It appears that Steele is ignoring Gillespie's example and following Mehlman's inconsistent leadership style: personally believe one thing, but professionally support the opposite," said Doyle. "It's time for the RNC to start choosing leaders who actually stand up for conservative values, rather than make the party accessible to those who want to radically transform it."

Parents and Friends of Ex-Gays & Gays (PFOX) leads the nation in providing education and public awareness in support of families and the ex-gay community. They can be reached at http://pfox.org/about_us.html

I have heard that the rejection of the ex-gay community is rampant! In this Obama-age of progressive leanings towards acceptance of anyone and everyone who might be deemed "different" or who would be discriminated against, WHY IS THIS ACCEPTABLE?

I have heard ex-gay people tell me that being ex-gay, conservative, and Christian is one of the least tolerated ways to live. They are endlessly rejected for who they are, cursed at, called disparaging names, eliminated from discussions (as noted in the email) and given the image of being pariahs rather than individuals in whom God has redeemed from sexual behavior that they no longer wanted to participate in. As if all of that isn't bad enough, I would imagine that the added fact of being and African-American (or Latino) Ex-Gay might make it even worse!

Comments people???

The Obligation to My Country and My GOD to Do What is Right

Reading Laura Ingraham's new book, "The Obama Diaries" is both hilarious and at the same time, dead serious. Laura has some very funny "diary" entries, but also gets to the heart of the matter - that Obama doesn't think very highly of America and her past. He seems to be continually telling the American people that only if we adopt his radically socialist agenda policies - then America will be great. The trouble is, his ideology and political view to "fundamentally transform the United States of America" is an awful mixture of Marxism, Communism, Weatherman Underground radicalism, tyranny, and Black Liberation Theology - along with it's mantra of "collective salvation," "distributing the wealth," "pluralism," and "social justice," (which is horribly skewed from the biblical meaning of social justice) all wrapped into one big ball of danger to our nation. I could go on and on but you get the general picture.

Found an interesting quote from Laura's book:

Mark Twain wrote,
"Patriotism is supporting your country all the time, and your government when it deserves it."

Recall how the liberal/progressives threw around the message that "dissent is the highest form of patriotism" when the hated George W. Bush was president? Now, we are seeing them claim that white Christians are all "racists" and "anti- (fill in the blank) because we disagree with Obama's horrid ideology (a mixture of Marxo/Commie/Islamo-Fascism with the far leftist Alinsky methods and Cloward and Piven strategy thrown in) and terrible policies.

Perhaps it wasn't a coincidence that I had received the following email today. It cemented my decision to share my opinion to the question of whether or not "Christians are supposed to respect Obama."

I don't respect him. Knowing what I know about him, I can't. I agree completely with the reasons shared by David Barton (in the essay posted below).

Read it and please pass it along to everyone you know! WE THE PEOPLE can change the terrible direction that Obama and the progressives (mostly Dems) in Congress are taking our beloved nation by VOTING THE BUMS OUT in 2010 and 2012!

Dr. David Barton is more of a historian than a Biblical speaker, but very famous for his knowledge of historical facts, as well as Biblical truths.

Dr. David Barton - on Obama

Respect the office? Yes.

Respect the man in the office? No, I am sorry
to say.

I have noted that many elected officials, both Democrats and Republicans, called upon America to unite behind Obama. Well, I want to make it clear to all who will
listen that I AM NOT uniting behind Obama.

I will respect the office which he holds, and I will acknowledge his abilities as an orator and wordsmith and pray for him, BUT that is it.

I have begun today to see what I can do to make sure that he is a one-term President.

Why am I doing this ? It is because:

- I do not share Obama's vision or value system
for America ;

- I do not share his Abortion beliefs;

- I do not share his radical Marxist's concept
of re-distributing wealth;

- I do not share his stated views on raising
taxes on those who make $150,000+ (the ceiling has been changed three times
since August);

- I do not share his view that America is
Arrogant;

- I do not share his view that America is not a
Christian Nation;

- I do not share his view that the military
should be reduced by 25%;

- I do not share his view of amnesty and giving
more to illegals than our American Citizens who need help;

- I do not share his views on homosexuality and
his definition of marriage;

- I do not share his views that Radical Islam is
our friend and Israel is our enemy who should give up any land;

- I do not share his spiritual beliefs (at least
the ones he has made public);

- I do not share his beliefs on how to re-work
the health care system in America ;

- I do not share his strategic views of the
Middle East ; and

- I certainly do not share his plan to sit down
with terrorist regimes such as Iran .

Bottom line: my America is vastly different from Obama's, and I have a higher obligation to my Country and my GOD to do what is right!

For eight (8) years, the Liberals in our Society, led by numerous entertainers who would have no platform and no real credibility but for their celebrity status, have attacked President Bush, his family, and his spiritual beliefs.

They have not moved toward the center in their beliefs and philosophies and they never came together nor compromised their personal beliefs for the betterment of our Country.

They have portrayed my America as a land where everything is tolerated except being intolerant.

They have been a vocal and irreverent minority for years.

They have mocked and attacked the very core values so important to the founding and growth of our Country.

They have made every effort to remove the name of GOD or Jesus Christ from our Society.

They have challenged capital punishment, the right to bear arms and the most basic principles of our criminal code.

They have attacked one of the most fundamental of all Freedoms, the right of free speech.

Unite behind Obama? Never !

I am sure many of you who read this think that I am going overboard, but I refuse to retreat one more inch in favor of those whom I believe are the embodiment of Evil.

PRESIDENT BUSH made many mistakes during his Presidency and I am not sure how history will judge him. However, I believe that he weighed his decisions in light of the long established Judeo-Christian principles of our Founding Fathers.

Majority rules in America , and I will honor the concept; however, I will fight with all of my power to be a voice in opposition to Obama and his "goals for America ."

I am going to be a thorn in the side of those who, if left unchecked, will destroy our Country. Any more compromise is more defeat.

I pray that the results of this election will wake up many who have sat on the sidelines and allowed the Socialist-Marxist anti-GOD crowd to slowly change so much of what has been good in America .

agree)

Respect Needs To Be Earned

respect Pictures, Images and Photos

In the comment section of the post, Leftists Rarely Show Conservatives Any Respect, Gary Baker shared some awesome comments. Gary was kind and gracious enough to accept my invitation to be a guest blogger and allow me to re-post his comments in a new "blogment" here at Talk Wisdom.

Gary was responding to GMPilot's comment in the previous thread. GM originally wrote (in response to Christine):

"How easily the demand for "respect" rolls off your tongue...but if you don't give any, you don't get any. That's something both sides need to remember."

Gary responded:

Quote:

I am reminded of the thousands of dollars of damage the Clinton staff did to the White House areas when Bush was first elected, and the special effort that Bush made to make certain that President Obama would not have to face that. Meanwhile, the Obama crowd on the mall leaves the place looking like a pig sty after the ceremony.

I'm reminded of how democrat senators refer to the service men as war criminals. How they undermine 50 men whose service was every bit as exemplary as John Kerry's for the simple reason that they expressed their opinion.

I'm reminded of how Bush is called liar and war criminal for saying [and] expressing the belief that Iraq had WMD's (more than were actually found) when everyone from Gore to both Clintons to Kerry to Edwards said the same thing on the record.

I'm reminded of how Trent Lott was forced from his leadership position for complimenting an old man at his birthday while the democrats embrace a former KKK official. Of how a republican resigned in disgrace for a solicitation scandal very similar to one performed by a democrat who was subsequently re-elected.

I'm reminded of how liberals claim to champion rights for women and minorities and yet savage people such as Colin Powell, Condi Rice, and Sarah Palin. I'm reminded how all of this is based strictly on toeing the liberal line and has nothing to do with worth or integrity.

When modern liberal ideology or President Obama gives me something to respect, I will gladly show it. Right now, the things that he is naming for his main agenda is rewarding irresponsible behavior, ensuring that people have a clear path to kill the unborn, stifling free speech and freedom of association, increasing debt and taxation, implementing economic policies that will prolong the recession, and working to permanently redefine marriage against the will of the majority in the country.

I got nothing...

[Note: In response to Mike's request that we should all "pray for Obama," Gary added:

Quote:

BTW - Mike, for what it's worth, I spend a considerable part of my time in anguished prayer asking God to bless our leaders and this nation. Contrary to what so many think, a good many of the Christians are not bringing up these items to be judgmental. They are bringing them up in the hope that the nation can avoid judgment. The key, however, is repentance, and that's one thing the milk-soppy, pasty-faced, feel-good kind of preaching that is so popular in liberal churches these days will not spur. It does a person or a nation no good to allow them to be comfortable in their sins. From what I understand, it's a lot like gangrene: It doesn't hurt. It just stinks until parts of you start dying. I would rather the country be broken hearted and saved than comfortably fall into nothingness. /quote
