Odd Future Lands TV Series On Adult Swim (BLOG)

Fast-rising Los Angeles hip-hop collective, Odd Future, are doing big things. After invading the music world, they are now set to invade your television sets.

According to the Los Angeles Times, OFWGKTA have landed a deal with Adult Swim for a live-action series called "Loiter Squad."

The network said Thursday (September 8) that the show will be a 15-minute series that features sketches, man on the street segments, pranks and, of course, music.

The show, which by Dickhoue Entertainment (known for "Jackass"), will be similar to the hit MTV series. Tremaine and Adult Swim's Nick Weidenfeld will serve as executive producers.

At press time, "Loiter Squad" is set to premiere in early 2012.

Jon Gosselin tells Kate to get a real job (BLOG)

LOS ANGELES (TheWrap.com) - Jon Gosselin, dispensing career advice? Roll up your sleeves and tie yourselves off, irony junkies, because we have a fix for you.

The former "Jon and Kate Plus 8" patriarch responded to TLC's cancellation of "Kate Plus 8" by offering some tough love to his former spouse, via an interview with RumorFix.

His words of wisdom for Kate Gosselin? Now that the show-biz gravy train has rolled out of town, it's time to get a real job.

"Reality TV is not a career. Get back to a normal life -- a simple life. Provide for your family," Gosselin counseled.

Big words from a guy whose sole remaining career option seemed to be pot-bellied gigolo just a couple of years ago. But Gosselin goes on to claim that he's back on the straight and narrow, working in the computer industry and putting food on the table for his jumbo-sized brood.

"I go to work every day and provide for my family," Gosselin crowed. "I spend time with my kids -- spend time on the weekends. I spend time with the girlfriend I've had for over a year now. And enjoy a normal lifestyle."

Meeka Claxton Gets the Boot from Basketball Wives (BLOG)

Shaunie O'Neal pretty much let the cat out the bag weeks ago when she said during a radio show that Meeka very likely wouldn't be seeing the VH1 light of day again. And it's come true.

Sources on the VH1 production team say that Meeka hasn't been invited back. And no one has even reached out to her since the last reunion show, according to TMZ.

And despite mentioning that she may drop her lawsuit against Tami, it sounds like the producers chose Mrs. Roman over Meeka anyway--remember when Tami said VH1 would have to choose either her or Meeka--but it aint gonna be both of them?

Looks like the network made their choice.  WOMP.

T.I. To Film Reality Show For VH1, Premiering December 5th (BLOG)

Released from prison Yesterday morning, T.I. will star in a reality show for VH1 that follows his life post-incarceration.

Tip, who was released to a halfway house after 10 months in prison for a probation violation, will star in the untitled 10-episode series, airing on December 5th at 10 p.m.

Each half-hour episode will see him “re-acclimate back into his life as a father, husband, son and friend, as well as a musician, a clothier, a businessman, and an actor.” He will also document the recording of his new album, the follow-up to last year’s No Mercy.

“Viewers have always connected with T.I. and we are definitely thrilled to show the next chapter of this incredible artist’s riveting life with this new series,” said Jeff Olde, EVP, Original Programming and Production VH1. “T.I. is such a multi- talented artist and actor, and though he has had some setbacks, there is no doubt he will use his considerable talents to get back on top of both the music and film business.”

'Big Brother' eviction leads to death threats (BLOG,VIDEO)

When “Big Brother” houseguest Shelly Moore employed some last-minute, game-changing strategy last week and played a big part in giving fan favorite Jeff Schroeder the boot, she couldn’t have known just how badly some “Big Brother” fans would react.

According to TMZ, disgruntled fans have called Moore’s family threatening violence and even death, with some of the warnings allegedly aimed at Moore’s 8-year-old daughter. Sources also revealed that the reality TV star’s place of work has also received calls urging her employer to fire her.

On Saturday, reality TV-centric website Yakkity Yaksrevealed how far some fans had already gone, pointing out threats and personal contact infomation making the rounds on a Facebook page called, “America Hates Shelly Moore.” That page currently has over 7,600 “likes.”

After learning about the passionate and downright scary reaction Schroeder's elimination sparked, "Big Brother" executive producer Allison Grodner addressed the issue on Twitter.

“No matter how much you dislike an HG, this is wrong!” Grodner tweeted . “True BB fans do not try to ruin lives. Please stop!”

Jennifer Williams Talks Divorce and More (BLOG)

(ESSENCE)It’s been weeks since the most-talked about glass-throwing incident on reality TV.

That incident -- in which “Basketball Wives” star Jennifer Williams and her soon-to-be ex-husband threw water in each other’s faces -- was the boiling point of a rocky relationship nearing its end.

Now, months after the incident was filmed, Jennifer says she’s worried about her ex-hubby’s behavior. She spoke with ESSENCE.com about her pending divorce, moving on with her life, and whether or not she forgives him for past behavior.

ESSENCE.com: Looking back, how do you feel about that incident?
JENNIFER WILLIAMS: We filmed that a while ago so I'm somewhat over it. But never in a million years thought it would come down to this. We've been together so long that I feel like we should have a mutual respect for one another.

ESSENCE.com: Eric’s explanation was that he was trying to "cast a demon out" of you. How do you respond?
JENNIFER: Between his actions and what he's been saying on twitter, I don't really know who he is right now. He's just a different person from the one I know. I feel like he's falling off the deep end, and I'm like, you can't be that bitter about what's going on. The stuff he's been saying has been outlandish and I'm just wondering when the real Eric is going to come back.

ESSENCE.com: Will you ever forgive him for all the stuff in the past?
JENNIFER: I have forgiven him, but I don't forget. The glass-throwing incident was a confirmation that I'm moving in the right direction with my life, leaving him behind. I don't wish him any ill will, but I know there's never any chance that he and I could ever be together.

ESSENCE.com: If you’re worried about his well-being, would you ever consider reaching out to him?
JENNIFER: We started off as friends and that was why it was important for me to remind him. That was my whole thing with season 2. If we can't work things out let's try to be friends was my objective. After the whole incident with the glass throwing though I'm like maybe its best we’re not friends.

ESSENCE.com: Have you spoken to him since?
JENNIFER: We’ve communicated over text, but haven't spoken to him since all that stuff happened. It’s confusing, one day he’s like, 'Oh I'm still in love with you,’ and then the next is like, 'But you're a groupie.'

ESSENCE.com: Are you surprised by people’s reactions to the incident?
JENNIFER: I was worried that people were going to think I was in an abusive relationship, that they’d think that's how our marriage has been all along. Eric has never put his hands. I think I've definitely been through some mental and verbal abuse, but there was nothing physical, ever.

ESSENCE.com: So what next? You say you’re moving on with your life. Are you dating?
JENNIFER: Yes, I’m dating but I’m new to this whole dating thing. I was in a relationship for 10 years so I’m just getting out there. I don’t have a boyfriend. To be honest, my main priority right now is myself, and my businesses.

Casey Anthony's parents to appear on 'Dr. Phil' Next month (BLOG)

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) — The parents of the Florida mother who was acquitted in July of killing her 2-year-old daughter are set to appear on the "Dr. Phil" television show next month.

George and Cindy Anthony's interview with Dr. Phil McGraw is scheduled to air Sept. 12, according to a statement released Monday by the show. The episode will examine the public scrutiny they've faced during and after their daughter's murder trial.

The Anthonys' daughter, 25-year-old Casey Anthony, was found not guilty last month of the death of her daughter Caylee in 2008.

The show is not compensating the couple for the interview, according to the release, though viewers will be asked to donate to a charity group advocating for the rights of grandparents of missing children.

Abercrombie asks 'The Situation' to shop elsewhere (BLOG)

NEW ALBANY, Ohio (AP) — Abercrombie & Fitch is offering to pay Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino and his fellow "Jersey Shore" cast members so they'll stop wearing the brand on the show.

The clothing company says in a news release posted Tuesday that it's concerned that having Sorrentino seen in its clothing could cause "significant damage" to the company's image.

Abercrombie says a connection to The Situation goes against the "aspirational nature" of its brand and may be "distressing" to customers. The Ohio-based retailer says it has offered a "substantial payment" to Sorrentino and producers of the MTV show so he'll wear something else.

The company says it also is making the offer to others in the hard-partying cast.

An MTV spokeswoman did not immediately return messages for comment on Wednesday.

(VH1)The Basketball Wives season three reunion special is almost upon us! With a season like this one, you know the reunion is going to be a doozy, and I was there to catch a few behind-the-scenes moments and get the lowdown on everything that happened onstage. Most of which you’ll see when the show airs, but some of it, you won’t. So what was happening backstage?

There were a lot of people behind the scenes – each lady had friends, family, managers and hair and makeup artists hanging out with them in their dressing room. Evelyn‘s sister was hanging out with her while she got her hair done, Shaunie‘s boyfriend Marlon (who is hotter in person than he is in pictures) was hanging out near the snack table and was maybe the friendliest person I met that day (do you get the sense that I have a crush on Marlon? Maybe just a lil’?). I spotted Tami‘s daughters Lyric and Jazz watching their mom on a monitor backstage during taping and giggling each time she got a word in at Meeka’s expense. And speaking of Meeka, she had a small entourage of her own — including one friend who makes an on-camera appearance during the reunion. I won’t give anything away, but if you want to get Evelyn all roiled up, having a member of your entourage interrupt the conversation during filming will do the trick.

All the ladies were super-relaxed when I spoke to them (all my interviews with them will be posted after part two of the reunion airs). That might have something to do with the champagne bottles that were in each of their rooms (wait, scrap that, Tami’s room was stocked with Bud Light, of course). It might also have had something to do with the fact that Royce and Meeka’s dressing rooms were located in a totally separate building from the others. A few people I did NOT see behind the scenes were Chad Ochocinco or Eric Williams…As you can see in the photo gallery below, Eric did have a dressing room back stage, but you’ll have to watch the reunion to know whether or not he showed up to defend his honor and drink-throwing. Ocho was not on the set though, although Evelyn hinted that despite their super busy schedules, they do plan to have a destination wedding at some point in the future.

 Part one airs on Monday, August 15 at 8 p.m. ET/PT and part two airs Monday, August 22 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

Former NBA Player John Sally hosts the special which takes no time getting into the end of season fight between Tami Roman and Evelyn that occurred after Evelyn revealed that she had slept with Tami’s husband:

Royce stepped in and said that is the very reason she doesn’t trust any of them, especially Evelyn because she just said that when she slept with Kenny she knew he was engaged to someone else and she still thought it was okay.

After snapping at Royce, Evelyn goes on to say that she thinks that Tami knew about her sleeping with Kenny the whole time but she just wanted to make her mark on the show.

PETA Protests Mike Tysons New Show?! (Blog)

Mike Tyson may have thought he was showing the world his kinder, gentler side when he debuted his new pigeon-racing series, "Taking on Tyson," on Animal Planet this past Sunday.

"The first thing I ever loved in my life was a pigeon. I don't know why ... I feel ridiculous trying to explain it," Tyson said.

Apparently, animal rights activists have a different opinion about Tyson’s love for the birds. After the show aired on the Discovery Network, activist gathered at Tyson’s Las Vegas home to protest. Picketers carried signs expressing their sentiments against the former boxing champ’s pigeon racing hobby, which isn’t just for leisure; pigeon racing is a big business especially in Asia. A coop of Belgian-bred racing pigeons were sold for 1.8 million to bidders in China.

Members of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) appeared at the famous fighter’s home carrying signs that read, “Featherweights: No match for a Heavyweight” and “Mike doesn’t give pigeons a fighting chance.”

PETA bosses demanded that the network stop production on the show before filming began last March in New York because pigeon racing is “inherently cruel”. PETA representative Lisa Lange expressed, “These animals aren’t racing because they enjoy it. It’s out of desperation that they make it back.”

Reality TV Bad Girl Omarosa Is A Preacher Now?! (Blog)

Omarosa has traded in the TV spotlight...for the pulpit?!

Former reality TV star of the Apprentice, Omarosa Manigault-Stallworth received her Preachers license on February 20 and has been named assistant pastor of the Weller Street Missionary Baptist Church in Los Angeles, where she is a member.

The reality TV fire starter announced in 2009 that she had enrolled in seminary school. Two years later, Omarosa has fulfilled her mission and is now serving an audience in a different light.

"Sunday was a very special day for me in terms of my ministry and spiritual growth," the reality star reported to AOL Black Voices. "God is in control and I'm moving in divine direction."

Despite starring in her Donald Trump inspired TV One reality dating show The Ultimate Merger last year, Omarosa is currently in a relationship with Oscar nominee Michael Clarke Duncan. The two have been an item since spring of 2010.

Pamela Anderson Downs Dirty Water?! (Blog)

Pamela Anderson guzzled a glass of dirty water on U.S. TV on Thursday, February 24 to show how a cheap new filter process works. The model/actress was promoting charity organization Waves For Water on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" when she agreed to show the host just how new technology turns filthy liquid into drinking water in the world's poorest regions.

She pulled out a bucket full of dirty water, attached a filter hose and poured the liquid into a glass. She said, "This is a crude, simple thing; it's based on dialysis - if you can clean blood, you can clean water... It's drinkable; I'm gonna drink it right now."

"I took them (filter bags) to India when I went to India and did a demonstration there and I gave it to a bunch of people and then they take it to different places and we just keep on kinda spreading it around... the slums of Brazil, my friends are there right now."

DeGeneres then presented Anderson with a $10,000 cheque for the Waves For Water charity from water filter firm Aquasana.

Promoting the 16th cycle of "America's Next Top Model", Tyra Banks steps up the game by releasing a video where she's typical contestants trying out for the show. She begins with giggly blonde girl who loves Hello Kitty as a designer and would do "anything" to be America's next top model except cut the hair.

The second girl Tyra portrays is model with attitude. "I'm not here to make friends," says the typical model number two. She has a tattoo of her name which makes up ANTM when abbreviated. The last girl is a goth model who pretends she doesn't want to be on the show. "I'm not a cookie cutter, I cut the cookies," goth girl says.

The 16th cycle will premiere February 23 on The CW. Several changes have been made including skipping the casting week and slipping a prank for the contestants. Guest judges are fashion designer Lana Marks, model and stylist Erin Wasson, Rachel Zoe and model and actress Alek Wek.

LOS ANGELES – With a celebrity-studded crowd looking on, Rihanna rocked the halftime show at the NBA All-Star game on her 23rd birthday.


She had other big names helping her sing her hits Sunday, with Drake joining in on "What's My Name?" and working "happy birthday" into the lyrics. Dripping in gold chains, a red-clad Kanye West came out for "All of the Lights," which is off his latest album but features Rihanna. Watch the vid:

VH1's 'Love & Hip Hop' Trailer! (Video)

VH1 has released the trailer for Love & Hip-Hop about women who are or have been involved with Hip Hop artists trying to balance their relationships and their work. It stars Olivia (formerly of G-Unit), Chrissy Lampkin (Jim Jones' baby momma), Emily Bustamente (Fabolous' baby momma), Somaya Reece (Joe Buddens old fling) and most recently added, Mashonda (Swizz Beatz ex-wife).

Love & Hip Hop premieres March 14 at 10:30 pm.

RHOA Breaks Records With 4.4 Million Viewers!! (Blog)

The season finale of The Real Housewives of Atlanta broke viewership records for Bravo.

The third-season closer, which aired Sunday, averaged 4.4 million total viewers, including 3.1 million viewers in the key adults 18-49 demo. That makes it the most-watched episode in the history of theHousewives franchise.

Season 3 of Atlanta also was the franchise's most-watched season ever, averaging 3.5 million total viewers, including 2.4 million in the demo.

Compared to the Season 2 finale, which aired in October, Sunday night's Atlanta episode was up 47% among total viewers and up 51% in the demo.

Following the Atlanta finale, chat show Watch What Happens: Live also posted series-high ratings, averaging 3.1 million total viewers and 2.1 million in the demo.

'Love & Hip Hop' A Reality Show About Hip Hop Wives, Former Wives and Girlfriends?!! (Blog)

VH1 has confirmed that a new reality show titled Love & Hip Hop has casted Vibe.com's very own Mashonda Tifere. The singer and songwriter will be joined by Jim Jones' girlfriend Christine "Chrissy" Lampkin, Fabolous' girlfriend Emily Bustamente, former "First Lady of G-Unit" Olivia, and Latin music artist Somaya Reece. 

The series will follow the women as they balance personal relationships and making it in the entertainment industry. Cameras will show Emily and Chrissy trying to lock their men down while Olivia and Somaya give viewers a look at what upcoming artists forgo to get ahead in the music game. 

"The show is about strength and womanhood. I'm excited about the show and the women on it," says Mashonda of the new venture.

It's not crystal clear whether she will be speaking about her much publicized divorce to producer Swizz Beatz, but secretly we're banking on it.

Love & Hip Hop premieres Monday, March 21.
