Prince Shares the Stage With Alicia Keys (Video)

Alicia Keys made a surprise appearance at a Prince concert in L.A. over the weekend.

The "Purple Rain" star was performing at the Los Angeles Forum, part of his 21-night run at the venue. In front of an estimated 17,000 fans on Friday, Keys took to the stage for a rendition of "How Come U Don't Call Me Anymore?" The song was written by Prince and appeared as a B-side to his classic single "1999." Keys covered the tune on her debut album, Songs in A Minor.

Keys is currently gearing up for a 10-year celebration of her debut, which came out in 2001. The singer is set to re-release the album in a deluxe form. The new version is due out in June 27.

Meanwhile, the singer is in L.A. working on her new album, a follow-up to 2009's The Element of Freedom. As if her music career wasn't enough, Keys, who recently had her first child, is also looking to launch her directorial debut. She will direct a new film short as part of a project organized by actress Jennifer Aniston.
