Big Sean Featuring Kanye West - Marvin & Chardonnay (Clean Version) (VIDEO)

Director Hype Williams brought out all the colors of the rainbow for the "Marvin & Chardonnay" video he directed for Big Sean. With plenty of video vixens to spare, the visual clip pays homage to those Diddy-like videos of the 90s, full of bright vibrant settings.

Nicki Minaj - Fly - Featuring Rihanna (Official Video)

This has certainly been the year of the apocalypse-themed music video. And now, with the debut of their "Fly" video during the 2011 Video Music Awards pre-show, Nicki Minaj, along with her best gal Rihanna, have joined the ranks of celebs like Britney Spears, Chris Brown, Willow Smith and Katy Perry who have spelled out the end of the world in their clips.

The video plays out like some post-apocalyptic fashion magazine photo shoot in which Nicki Minaj and Rihanna stand near a plane wreck in couture outfits, mugging for the camera. It opens with Nicki pulling up to the wreckage in a very luxurious ride. Plane parts are strewn about as she steps out in platform boots and a hot pink dress made of what looks like pleather and mechanical parts.

Rihanna - Cheers (Drink To That) (Official Video)

Perhaps it's appropriate that, as the East Coast braces for Hurricane Irene this weekend, Rihanna releases her new music video for "Cheers (Drink To That)," a breezy, tribal party-rock song that samples Avril Lavigne's "I'm With You" and serves up a nostalgic toast to summer. We see behind-the-scenes shots of sailing, drinking coconuts and clinking cups of what looks suspiciously like Kool Aid. Not that it's keeping us from Cheering, and Drinking To That, though -- especially not on this weekend.

Lil Wayne - How To Love (Official Video, BLOG)

The lyrics of Lil Wayne's ballad "How to Love" are probably best described as romantically tragic, but after Weezy premiered the video onlineWednesday, the song took on a more dire meaning.

The Chris Robinson-directed clip tells the story of an abused mother, who unintentionally leads her daughter to relive her own vicious cycle. "I have a daughter, Wayne has a daughter, and he really wanted to tell the story," Robinson told MTV News. "We were talking about statistics of abuse in our community. We were talking about really telling this story for every young woman in the world."

The video follows the life of a mother, who is beaten by her boyfriend while her baby daughter watches. As the little girl grows older, she visits her father in prison, and then as a preteen, she is molested by one of her mother's lovers. From there, the young lady, played by model/actress Chanta Patton, grows up to become a stripper and eventual prostitute who contracts HIV.

The cautionary clip is heavy in its message and not necessarily easy to watch. It wasn't easy to film, either; Robinson talked about the difficulty of filming the molestation scene, where we see the young girl wearing pigtails trying to fight off her adult attacker. "That was a harsh scene; it was difficult for us to shoot," the director said. "It was necessary, because these are the things that happen in real life. And you can see the trajectory of where that took her."

The video in some ways is reminiscent of TLC's 1995 video for "Waterfalls," in which the song drives a narrative with a deep message. Weezy's performance shots are almost an afterthought. "Speaking to Wayne, his performance -- actually seeing him -- was secondary to him," Robinson explained. "He really wanted to communicate what his thought was, what he really felt when he wrote these lyrics, and that was the priority for us."

In fact, it was the rapper's lyrics that drove the story home. Key scenes fell in sync with Tunechi's rhymes. "For me, I think Wayne's performance, we really showed him when he said these poignant lines, things that really connected," the director explained. "The concept is more a narrative. It's a story about two paths in someone's life and how one small choice that you make can affect your whole life."

Lil Wayne, who hits the stage as a performer at Sunday's VMAs, will dropTha Carter IV at midnight after the big show.

Beyoncé's production manager (Bobby), lead guitarist (Bibi), lightening designer (Nick), Roseland Ballroom security (Doug), music director (Kim) comment on the concert series and her album, "4."

"She's listening to her inner voice right now and doing what she wants to do," Bibi says of Bey'. "I think she took risks, I think she's being more authentic and doing what she wants to do instead of doing what people expect, which is good."

"This project is the most mature project for Beyoncé," Kim, music director says. "To be able to be in an intimate setting like this, like the Roseland, which is a very historic place, is an amazing thing. Because it's something she's never done before."

"I think the challenge of it is to be able to present your whole album as it's own concert, as it's own piece. I think this is a great way to educate the people about what this album means to her. It's for her, it's for the fans, it's for everybody," Kim continues.

Indy Artist Spotlight: J Samone (@JSamone_Music)(Video,Bio,Audio)

(ArtistSubmitted) The crowd in the 1500 seat venue is vibing, waving their cell phones in the air, and lip-singing to the intricate lyrics of J. Samone’s latest songs. From every crescendo, the atmosphere is mellow and after about an hour of rocking out, J. Samone is giving her thanks to a very interactive and supportive crowd, informing them of when and where they can get more from the lyrical sensation. She gives 10% of her $600 payday to church the next morning, and keeps working after benediction. That is the ideal performance that this young lady is after. And it won’t be long before those dreams turn into realities…

J. Samone started rapping at the age of 9 and since then has made a name for herself locally around Arkansas performing in talent shows and appearing on numerous mixtapes from other artists nation-wide. She got her first big break in January of 2010 when she appeared on BET’s Wild Out Wednesday. She states, “The Wild Out Wednesday performance was when I knew this was what I wanted to do. The stage and pandemonium from the audience felt like home to me.”

Now that she is in college attending Prairie View A&M University, it has been in her heart more than ever. "My music is an art form that people around my age can relate to. The transition from adolescence to adulthood is very tough and we go through trying times so I try to create music that tells stories of those experiences whether good or bad. It's just a matter of time before somebody notices my talent and realizes that I can be marketed..."

J. Samone has experienced two failed management teams but she is determined that one day she will meet a management team that is HONEST, that will believe in her, and that can help her achieve success. “What good is it for a man (or woman) to gain the world but lose their soul? I’m not trying to be rich, I just want the world to listen to what I have to say and live comfortably while doing so. This is my muse..” [J. Samone]

The new mixtape [Impeccable Intellectual] is set to drop on September 11, 2011 on (datPiff.com and LiveMixtapes.com) and is on track to being a lyrical masterpiece. The lead single “Yestaday” had 3,000 downloads within 3 days and that’s just the FIRST single to drop from the mixtape.

Kid Cudi - No One Believes Me (VIDEO)

Kid Cudi debuts a vampire-themed music video for his single "No One Believes Me". The rapper walks around an ominously silent suburban community, and sees bloodsuckers lurking in the dark or already sinking their fangs into their victims' necks. He himself is a creature of the night who decides to meet the sun as soon as the morning comes.

"No One Believes Me" is one of the songs featured in Colin Farrell-starring vampire movie "Fright Night". Talking about creative process of writing the track for the film, Cudi said, "I kind of wrote to the original 'Fright Night' and I wanted to stay true to the plot and the story."

"We really were inspired to create the song for the movie which was something I had never done before. I didn't want it to be a cheesy [or a] cliche type of record. I still wanted it to be something that people could play and still absorb it and enjoy it without thinking 'aw this is for the 'Fright Night' movie."

Explaining about the video, he gushed, "I kind of portray a Charlie-like character from the movie. The only difference is I'm a vampire and I don't like it too much. Im seeing all these murderous things happening around me and I'm totally unfazed and numb to all of it."

In the movie, Charlie played by Anton Yelchin is the human who notices a series of mysterious disappearances in his hometown. After observing some very strange activity, he comes to an unmistakable conclusion: his neighbor is a vampire. A remake of 1985 cult classic film of the same name, the flick will come out in the United States on August 19.

Cee- Lo Green - @CeeLoGreen - Crybaby (Video)

Cee-Lo Green has just made public a music video supporting his newest single "Cry Baby". Being a busy guy with a lot of scheduled performances and other commitments, the Gnarls Barkley star is ruled out of becoming the main star in the clip.

Soon after the premiere, Cee-Lo revealed that the video was filmed without him knowing. "I had no idea they shot a video for cry baby," the Goodie Mob member wrote on Twitter. Though so, he gave his approval, "I hear its cool though."

Jaleel White replaces the male judge and vocal coach of "The Voice" in the video. The actor who is best known for his role as Steve Urkel in ABC's hit 90's show "Family Matters" takes over the Lady Killer role from the "F**k You" hitmaker.

"Cry Baby" is one of the soulful tracks lifted from Cee-Lo's solo studio album "The Lady Killer".

'Sesame Street': No Gay Marriage for Asexual Bert and Ernie (BLOG, VIDEO)

There won't be a wedding for Bert and Ernie from "Sesame Street" despite an online petition urging producers to let the two characters get married. Sesame Workshop has stated that Bert and Ernie are not gay, insisting that they are only "best friends".

"They were created to teach preschoolers that people can be good friends with those who are very different from themselves," so the workshop said in a statement. "Even though they are identified as male characters and possess many human traits and characteristics (as most Sesame Street Muppets do), they remain puppets, and do not have a sexual orientation."

Jimmy Kimmel, meanwhile, had his own way to explain why Bert and Ernie would not get married. Wearing a cowboy costume during his "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" show, he got on his high horse to tell people that Bert and Ernie, as puppets, do not have genitals.

Giving another evidence that they are not gay, Kimmel pointed out about Burt's distinctive eyebrow, "No self-respecting homosexual would leave a unibrow like that unplucked." When addressing Bert and Ernie bathing together, he joked, "What roommates don't?... It's okay to wash your friends." In a more serious note, the funnyman reminded people that the characters are still six years old.

The online petition, which has been signed by more than 3,000 people, ask producers to let Bert and Ernie marry "in a tasteful way" to teach tolerance to young children. However, some others argue that to identify the characters with a sexual orientation serves only to infuse "the passions of adults" into what is a show for young children.

When We Get By - D'angelo (Blog, Video)

(LYRICS)when we get by, we'll make it by, when we get by with love
i look in your eyes, when i look in your eyes
i know what your thinking of
T'is a beautiful day, and you're welcome to stay
we can spend some time and catch the matinee
you're so fine, and the day is fine, and we'll be fine
when we make it by and we get by with love

Chorus

when we get by, we'll make it by, when we get by with love

Repeat

when we get by, we'll make it by, when we get by with love
i look in your eyes, i look in your eyes
They're pretty as the skies above
Everything, everything, everything is okay
we could make love in the shade, sip some chocolate lemonade
You're so fine, and the day is fine, and we'll be fine
when we get by and we make it by with love

Repeat Chorus

when we get by, we'll make it by, when we get by with love
i look in your eyes, i look in your eyes
i know what you're thinking of
'Cause it's a beautiful day
And you know that's a fact
You scratch mine
And i'll scratch your back sugar
You're so fine
And today's fine
When we make it by
And we get by with love

Repeat Chorus

Artist Spotlight - The Way I Feel - Remy Shand (Blog,Video)

Shand began recording and mixing his debut album, The Way I Feel, during the spring of 2001 at his home in Winnipeg, performing and recording the tracks for vocals and every instrument on the album. The album features songs such as "The Colour of the Day" and "I Met Your Mercy", examples of his particular style. Shand was quoted as saying the track "Everlasting" was the blueprint towards the content of The Way I Feel, as it was the oldest track on the album, recorded in 1998.

The Way I Feel was released on March 12, 2002, and Shand won a Juno Award for Best R&B/Soul Recording at the 2003 Juno Awards. The album was successful in Canada and sold roughly 500,000 copies in the United States. Shand received four Grammy nominations for his work.

In October 2003, Shand's official website stated that he was working on his second album, to be called Day In The Shade. The album has yet to be released, and since then, there has been no public information regarding Shand's whereabouts or recording projects. As of May 7, 2008, Shand's official website domain in Canada (www.remyshand.ca) had not been renewed by his record label and was registered by a domain exploitation company. In 2009, his official website domain in the United States (www.remyshand.com) redirected users to Universal Motown's main page.

Happy Birthday, Whitney Houston! (BLOG, VIDEOS)

Whitney Elizabeth Houston (born August 9, 1963) is an American R&B/pop singer, actress, and former fashion model. Houston is one of the most awarded female singers of all time, according to Guinness World Records, and her list of awards include 2 Emmy Awards, 6 Grammy Awards, 30 Billboard Music Awards, 22 American Music Awards, among a total of 415 career awards as of 2010. Houston is also one of the world's best-selling music artists, having sold nearly 100 million albums and singles worldwide on relatively few releases.

Inspired by several prominent soul singers in her extended family, including mother Cissy Houston and cousins Dionne Warwick and Dee Dee Warwick, as well as her godmother, Aretha Franklin, Houston began singing with New Jersey church's junior gospel choir at age 11.

After she began performing alongside her mother in night clubs in the New York City area, she was discovered by Arista Records label head Clive Davis. As of 2011, Houston has released seven studio albums and three movie soundtrack albums, all of which have diamond, multi-platinum, platinum, or gold certification.

Houston's 1985 debut album, Whitney Houston, became the best-selling debut album by a female act at the time of its release. Her second studio album, Whitney (1987), became the first album by a female artist to debut at number one on the Billboard 200 albums chart. Houston's crossover appeal on the popular music charts as well as her prominence on MTV, starting with her video for "How Will I Know", enabled several African-American female artists to follow in her success.

Houston's first acting role was as the star of the feature film The Bodyguard (1992). The movie's original soundtrack won the 1994 Grammy Award for Album of the Year. Its lead single, "I Will Always Love You", became the best-selling single by a female artist in music history. The album makes her the only female act ranked in the list of the top-10 best-selling albums, at number four. Houston continued to star in movies and contribute to soundtracks, including with the films Waiting to Exhale (1995) and The Preacher's Wife (1996). Three years after the release of her fourth studio album, My Love Is Your Love (1998), she renewed her recording contract with Arista Records. She released her fifth studio album, Just Whitney, in 2002, and the Christmas-themed One Wish: The Holiday Album in 2003. Amid widespread media coverage of personal and professional turmoil, Houston ended her 14-year marriage to singer Bobby Brown in 2006. In 2009, Houston released her seventh studio album, I Look To You.
