‘Green Lantern’ Trailer, Poster: Ryan Reynolds Stars As Hal Jordan

Filed in Breaking News , Hollywood News 0 comments

Ryan Reynolds is coming to save the summer.
The actor stars in the blockbuster film adaptation of a beloved DC comic book, taking on the role of Hal Jordan in “The Green Lantern.” Produced by Warner Bros., the film is a CGI-filled epic that puts Reynolds at the center of both earth-bound and space-focused story lines.
Reynolds and Warner Bros. presented a new poster and, more importantly, an extended trailer for the film at the movie convention WonderCon over the weekend. It was shown to great applause, a relief to producers who saw their initial, unpolished trailer panned in November.
Reynolds gave a panel talk about his take on the film.

“Oh, it’s huge,” he said of the extended clip going over well with the audience. “I mean, I’m also a fan. I want it to be good just primarily from that level. It’s a huge weight. It buoys you in a really big way. It’s a totally different experience, seeing it with an audience that it’s designed for. Seeing it with that group of people out there was just electrifying. If it had gone the other way, it would have been a huge disaster. So it’s really great to see that they’re getting it right.”

Jordan, in Green Lantern history, is actually the second person to wear the power-giving ring; when DC comics reintroduced the character in the 1950′s, Jordan was given the ring by the Guardians of the Universe and soon became a runaway hit for the comic book label. Along with Superman and Batman, he helped found the Justice League of America, a convenient plot point for Warner Brothers as they look toward making a film version of that gigantic team of heroes.
And, of course, as is Hollywood’s tradition, the producer of the film says they’re already working on the script for a sequel.

Elizabeth Hurley Files for Divorce

Elizabeth Hurley filed for divorce from Arun Nayar, her husband of four years, on Friday.
In papers filed in London’s High Court, the Estee Lauder spokesmodel reportedly blamed Nayar’s “unreasonable behavior” for the split, though it was Hurley’s own behavior that grabbed headlines in December, when photos emerged of her kissing Australian cricket star Shane Warne outside a London restaurant.

At the time, the model-actress took to Twitter to explain: “For the record, my husband Arun and I separated a few months ago. Our close friends & family were aware of this.”
Warne, with whom Hurley, 45, had been exchanging flirtatious Tweets, issued a similar statement soon after.

Hurley, who was recently in Los Angeles filming a role for the upcoming TV Wonder Woman reboot and is expected to headline several high profile events in New York in the coming weeks, spoke out on Twitter again to dispel rumors she is marrying Warne.

Reese Witherspoon, Jim Toth ENGAGED !

ReesewitherspoonReese Witherspoon and Jim Toth are engaged to be married, their representative confirmed to Us Weekly.
The pair began dating in January after Witherspoon broke up with Jake Gyllenhaal. Toth, 40, is an agent at Creative Arts Agency, where Witherspoon is a client, though not his.

Witherspoon was married to actor Ryan Phillippe for seven years -- they divorced in 2008 -- and the pair have two children: daughter Ava, 11, and son Deacon, 7.

Witherspoon opened up about the divorce to Entertainment Weekly earlier this month, saying:

"It definitely sometimes feels like a suit that I wish I could zip off. But I don't feel bad about any of the things I've gone through, whether it's divorce or breakups or anything like that, because that's all part of the life journey, and I have those experiences just like anyone else. And I think it deepens what you tap into creatively."
