The Indonesian Embassy in Bogota, Colombia, says the recently arrested M. Nazaruddin is healthy, but has suggests he could be under stress.
A medical examination conducted by the embassy reported that Nazaruddin — the former Democratic Party treasurer and graft fugitive arrested by local authorities in Cartagena, Colombia, on Sunday — was good physical condition.
However, according to to embassy official I Made Subagia, Nazaruddin looked depressed.
"It's understandable if he is stressed. He used to be someone important and now he is under arrest here," Made said.
Nazaruddin was a former Democratic Party treasurer who fled the country once evidence of his involvement in the corruption of funds in the 2011 SEA Games mounted against him.
Made added that doctors from Colombia police have given Nazaruddin a medical exam.
