More GMPilot Rationalizing - I see....

Before my blogging days, I posted quite regularly at my Talk Wisdom message board. There was a small group of regulars who posted articles, links and comments in the various categories included at the forum. Once I began blogging on a regular basis, I didn't really keep up with the forum. In fact, the spam registrations over there were so annoying (and time consuming to remove), that I shut down the open registration. Those who wish to join the board now sign up via the "Contact Us" icon at the bottom of the page. Some spammers have wasted my time emailing their dumb links through the contact method! They don't seem to want to give up! Their links are immediately deleted, so why do they waste time with it?

Anyway, with that brief explanation as to why I don't write at that board much anymore, I wanted to share a recent post written by GMPilot:

Happy Anniversary!

Well, whaddaya know!
Has it really been five years since I read that polemic of yours and decided to confront you on it?

Has it really been five years that you and I have comported on God, the Bible, communism, Andrea Yates, George Bush, Barack Obama, the ACLU, the ADF, homosexuality, the Pope, Mexicans, Nazis, Nancy Pelosi, Rush Limbaugh, the USAAF, the USS Intrepid, Iraq, Afghanistan, New Jersey, the 2004 tsunami, the 2008 elections, Ted Haggard, Alan Sears, computer glitches, and a hundred other things I’ve left out?

Have I really faced down the likes of HAMMER, Wizard, Saltnlight444, Christian Brother, Sothenes, and Mr. Baker—not to mention Admin—and lived to tell about it?

Has the past lustrum been just packed with fun and interesting topics?
Yep!

Happy anniversary, hostess! Here’s to us, and the legion of readers we’ve entertained/informed.* Remember that whenever your bullshit gets too deep on this site (your other site is almost hopeless), I’ll be here to clean it up. Someone has to.

I remain your ‘favorite nemesis’,

*6400 hits and counting on that ‘God’s latest felony’ thread! Not bad for something neither of us has contributed to for nearly a year, eh?

In case you might be interested in the thread he is talking about, go to "Rationalizing God's Latest Felony" Yes. That thread holds the record for hits - 6,411 and counting. The post with the second greatest number of hits is The Times of the Signs: The Days of Lot. That thread has 4,752 views. I have neglected to reply to GM's latest post over there. Need to get busy on that.

For now, I will share my reply to GM's comment above:

More GM Rationalizing - I see....

You neglected to quote the correct title - it's "RATIONALIZING God's Latest Felony."

You claim that my other forum is "almost hopeless." Yet, you still read there. So, one must conclude that you like to rationalize what you personally deem as "almost hopeless." Hmmmm...I find it interesting that you don't find what I write and/or share as totally hopeless. That is how most atheists/skeptics/anti-Christian minds often think. They find their "hope" in the "things of this world" - including the current bogus POTUS.

But still, some atheists/skeptics/anti-Christian minds have been turned towards God's Truth. Some eventually figure out that the things of this world are useless to them after they die. They figure out that all that they strive for on this earth provides only temporary fulfillment - if any - at all. Graveyards are filled with formerly rich people (and/or famous) who some would have said, "had it all." However, many of them lived miserable lives while rejecting the only true Hope in the universe - Jesus Christ.

It's funny. On the one hand you wish me a "happy anniversary" regarding this site. Then, you proceed to mock the beliefs that I and other commenters share here and at the blog. Well... it's not surprising. Jesus himself told us that our faith in him would be cause for ridicule. He also stated that the real reason for the mocking is because [they] "hated him first." There is a poignant message in his words. Not only do the unsaved disbelieve that Jesus is who he said he is - the Son of God, Savior, King and Lord - but they also hate him without a cause. But you go even further - don't you GM? Yes. You do. You personally hate him because of your twisted notion of God having committed a "felony" against man because of a tsunami. Why not blame global warming like most clueless liberals do? You would make Al Gore proud if you did!

I don't know whether or not you read a recent post that I wrote on the blog last Sunday. Within the post, I mentioned this:

I was reading in Max Lucado's book - "Traveling Light" - that even when the time for our physical death on this earth arrives, it pales in comparison to what Christ endured for us on the cross.

Lucado explained via a story. He mentioned that in Psalm 23, David wrote, "Yea though I walk through the shadow of the valley of death, I will fear no evil; for Thou art with me."

Then, he asked a child who was fearful of the concept of death (something that we are all destined to do) if he would rather be run over by a bus or by the shadow of a bus. The child answered - "the shadow of the bus." Lucado continued to explain that the child answered correctly. And, it is because Jesus took the sins of the world upon himself and that Christ experienced the "run over by a bus" kind of death, that we wouldn't ever have to experience such a death. Instead, we will pass through "the valley of the shadow of death." This is another way to say that we do not die spiritually because of what Christ has done for us! What a marvelous Savior we worship and belong to!!

I thought that was a great analogy to put forth the point that Christ's sacrifice for our sakes was the greatest event in human history! And, his subsequent resurrection from the dead shows us that his word is absolutely true! We can confidently trust him with our very lives!

No other spiritual leader ever claimed to die for the sins of mankind. No other savior could prove exactly who he was by rising from the grave. Jesus was the only one who accomplished that!! Therefore, we can trust him wholeheartedly with our lives! We can trust in his promises! Like this one:

Jhn 14:2
In my Father's house are many mansions: if [it were] not [so], I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
Jhn 14:3
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, [there] ye may be also.
The book of Ephesians, Chapter 5 discusses the fruit of the Spirit. Verse 8 informs us that were all "sometimes[in] darkness. But now, as born again Christians we are now "light in the Lord." The light [meaning holiness, righteousness] shines from Jesus Christ! To walk as children of light, we are to be reflectors of HIS LIGHT [righteousness, holiness]! This is why no one can brag about anything within ourselves. All glory, honor, thanksgiving, and worship belongs to Christ alone!

Here's a verse that humbles each and every believer:

Isa 64:6 But we are all as an unclean [thing], and all our righteousnesses [are] as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away.
But we are brought back from our uncleanness through the Lord:

Eph 5:8 ¶ For ye were sometimes darkness, but now [are ye] light in the Lord: walk as children of light:
Eph 5:9 (For the fruit of the Spirit [is] in all goodness and righteousness and truth
Eph 5:10 Proving what is acceptable unto the Lord.

So, as I had stated previously within the "Rationalizing God's Latest Felony" thread, you are sorely misunderstanding the point of life on this earth. And, since you are missing that, you are also misunderstanding the reason for physical death.

Whether it's being "run over by a bus" or "dying by tsunami," the fact is that because of what Jesus Christ did for us at the Cross on Calvary, we only experience "the shadow of the valley of death." That is, if God is with you through the Person of Jesus Christ.

"Yea though I walk through the shadow of the valley of death, I will fear no evil; for Thou art with me."

We Are The Church

Last evening, I watched Greta Van Susteren's phone interview with Governor Sarah Palin. They discussed the firebombing done at her church in Wasilla, Alaska.

I took the title of this post today from the seventh paragraph in the article. I am reminded of what Jesus stated in following Bible verse:

Mat 16:18
And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.

Once again, what man has meant for evil - is being turned towards good.

I will be back later today for more commentary about this incident, but the following article - A Tale of Two Churches caught my eye and I wanted to share it with readers here.

[Note: Perhaps the author of the article was using hyperbole, but the fact is that the church was not "burned to the ground." Apparently, some rooms at the front of the church were badly damaged and need to be repaired (estimated to be one million dollars worth of damage).]

Excerpt:

A Tale Of Two Churches
By Doug Patton
December 16, 2008

This is a tale of two American churches. One is in a major city. The other is in a small town. One preaches hatred of America and its institutions. The other preaches love and patriotism. One is infected with a toxic dogma known as Black Liberation Theology. The other espouses the Gospel of Jesus Christ. One was just firebombed. Guess which one.

Barack Obama spent twenty years sitting in the pews of the Trinity United Church of Christ in Chicago, listening to some of the foulest teaching ever to come from the mouth of a "preacher." That preacher was a poison-tongued demagogue named Jeremiah Wright, who has spewed racist lies and hateful conspiracies from his pulpit during his entire career.

Meanwhile, in Wasilla, Alaska, an evangelical church, attended by Gov. Sarah Palin and her family, teaches the true meaning of Christ's message to His church and to a fallen world.

On Friday, Dec. 12, the Wasilla Bible Church was firebombed. Authorities said the fire started at the main entrance of the church and that they are investigating the blaze as arson. They estimated the damage at $1 million. No one was injured, although a small group, which included children, was inside at the time.

The Wasilla congregation gathered for their services at a local middle school the Sunday following the fire. The statements of the members and their pastors, as reported by the Associated Press, are telling:

Patsy Inks said the news initially shocked and frustrated her. But by Sunday, she was feeling blessed, she said at the school, where worshippers lingered over a potluck dinner for a church family leaving Alaska. "This tragedy has brought us all together," Inks said, her eyes tearing up.

The congregation realizes the church is more than the building, said John Doak, associate pastor at Wasilla Bible Church. "The definition of the church is the body of Christ, made up of God's people," Doak said. "The church is still there. We are the church."

Received another comment from homosexual advocates. How does this blog get on their radar screen so often? My guess is that it is probably the same disgruntled homosexual person using various screen names.

The following is a copy of the post and some of the comments there. A blogger named "alcari" apparently took offense towards a former Talk Wisdom post entitled Their Own Consciences Testify.

Here we go! I have blotted out the curse words. Didn't want to subject my readers to a link to their LGBT CULT OF CONFUSION!

Meh Fundie!

Italicized portion taken from my original blog post:

It is also "written on our hearts." In our heart of hearts, not matter what the homosexual agenda tries to push on us, WE KNOW that same-sex sexual behavior is a sin and an abomination to God. The fact that certain people refuse to recognize that fact does not change the truth. As Roman 2:15 informs us - their thoughts will either accuse or excuse them!

The gay christian movement is in the business of excusing themselves. They have chosen "to exchange the truth for a lie."

And, what's more, they will do ANYTHING and EVERYTHING to attempt to cover their sin and excuse themselves rather than what is truly needed - repentance! Why? Because whether one admits it or not, one's own conscience and God's Word accuses them.

Um, no, you don't, you THINK and BELIEVE according to cherry picking from your FAITH...

Wait, isn't this like Christianity in a nutshell?

Couldn't you choose another abomination -- obstreperous children, non-virgin brides -- for a change of pace? Just for a while, mind you.

The day Christians extend tolerance to others, and start minding their own business, and stop looking at what is going on in others' bedrooms, is the day they should be tolerated. Until then, they should be whacked three times on each ear morning, noon and night with a wet tea towel.

This cow is a steaming pile of barf and sick.

In my heart of hearts, I know that there's absolutely NOTHING wrong with homosexuality, that love is love, and hell, we need MORE love in the world today, and who are we to say who others can and cannot love?

@Old Viking: I wouldn't wish this nonsense on a non-virgin bride or any child.

She tries to make us sound like cats in the litterbox or something. But no "God" accuses me. It's God's little helpers, like Christine, who try to accuse me and other LGBTs, and the thing is, the "crime" isn't a bad thing at all. The "crime" is a just-fine thing that can sometimes be really good!

"I feel it in gut that they are icky!" is not a very good argument. Just FYI.

"They have chosen "to exchange the truth for a lie." "

Oh...and you haven't? I assume that you couldn't have possibly done so, since you have "wisdom" in your blog title. You are obviously immune to such oversights, right?

"And, what's more, they will do ANYTHING and EVERYTHING to attempt to cover their sin and excuse themselves rather than what is truly needed"

Repent for being a woman NOW!! Do it! Yeah. Not exactly fun to be forced to repent for something that isn't your choice, and isn't morally wrong from your view, now is it?
