Looking For Christian Reviews On This Essay!

When I read the title of the latest post over at Herescope: Restoring the Gospel of Salvation, I was excited to read it. The title of the article, however, was a bit different from the title of the post, which asks, "Does not the salvation of sinners trump national restoration?"



Without revealing my reaction after reading the editorial, I present it here - in its entirety - so that readers can write their own thoughts, comments, positive and/or critical reviews about what was written in the essay. I am especially interested in what other Christians think about the article, though all are invited to share their opinions as well. I plan to reveal my thoughts, comments and reactions to the post sometime over the next two days.

Restoring the Gospel of Salvation

Does not the salvation of sinners trump national restoration?

There is a new virus going around. Its called Christian political war gaming. Once the virus strikes it becomes a near obsession. I know a number of people who don’t get enough sleep because they are at their computers doing political war games. Once they lived healthy Christian lives. Their passion was the Gospel of saving individual sinners. Now they rarely have the time or energy for their former passion. Their affections have been alienated. They need a Gospel intervention.

Former websites that defended the Gospel of salvation now are mostly devoted to restoring an illusive American past and proving our present president is a stealth Muslim attempting to make America a Muslim caliphate. Joseph Farah, World Net Daily Christian conspiracy expert, is sure Obama has specific plans for Christian concentration camps.

Even if all this is true, why should this divert us from our mandate of preaching the Gospel to every creature? Why should we be attempting to infiltrate and dominate every political entity before the time of God's vengeance?

Paul wasn't worried about imperial palace intrigue in Rome. Obama is just being a politician from the Left. Like all politicians before him he has an agenda. We do not have to accept these principles and we can vote our conscience and financially support the campaigns of our choice. In the current political stalemate this could qualify me as a liberal. Well! I didn’t vote for Obama and I didn’t vote for McCain. I was comfortable with making a write-in choice, one I know my every reader would support. I don't like Obama's stance on many things personally, and I deeply resent his reference to two fathers on fathers day. But neither did I appreciate "born-again" President Bush's statement to Muslim leaders that we both pray to the same God.

Nevertheless, Romans 13 states with clarity that God puts up rulers of His choice for His purposes. I may not agree with God's choice and can't always see His purpose, but I am commanded to pray for the rulers our Sovereign God raises up.

Is it for Christian evangelists to suffer near frenetic emotional exhaustion in the political war games arcade? Is the eternal purpose of God hanging on such a thin thread? Is the biblical Jehovah really such a wimp deity, and a weak onlooker to the affairs of men, hoping Christians will overcome politically and take back dominion our God supposedly lost in the Garden of Eden and a establish the kingdom of God in the earth?

America survived Clinton, Hoover, and a corrupt Ulysses Grant, and it will continue to survive if it is God’s will. My God is a sovereign who could overcome Egyptian Pharaohs (after Israel was in bondage for 300 years) and could even raise up Cyrus, a pagan ruler, to accommodate Israel’s return to Jerusalem. Paul never ever looked to Rome except to use his Roman citizenship for the furtherance of the Gospel.

How must we look to the persecuted church? Are we by example suggesting they become political terrorists for the Kingdom of God and unnecessary martyrs? Janet Porter, in her June 8, 2010 WorldNetDaily column, suggested that some of us were like the pious Germans who held high their hymnbooks so they wouldn’t see the cattle cars on their way to exterminate Jews. (A classic false dichotomy.) What could they have done? Lay themselves on the tracks? The German Christians were culpable, not because of their hymn singing but because they made common cause with the goals and destiny of the Third Reich, as did the Vatican in Rome.

Jesus, whom we say is our example, shunned (not a strong enough word) political pursuits in the name of the Kingdom of God. Recall the story of when Jesus was arrested in the garden of Gethsemane. Peter rushed to action and struck off the soldiers ear. Jesus was so perturbed that He instantly restored it and said to Peter "put your sward [sic] in its sheath" (John 18:11).

The Jerusalem that Jesus entered was a political hotbed. The people were involved in every possible action to drive out the pagan Romans from the holy city. When Jesus entered on Palm Sunday He purposefully fulfilled an Old Testament prophesy of the coming messiah by riding into the city on a young donkey. "Hosanna in the Highest" the crowd cried. Hosanna means “save us now." They treated Him as political messiah who would use his supernatural powers to drive out the Romans and RESTORE JERUSALEM. Did they look for a suffering savior who would bear the sins of the people? Hardly! By the time Jesus went to the cross they were all long gone.

Even the Romans saw Jesus as political threat. The quisling Jewish leaders, in collaboration with the Romans, were afraid of a political uprising. But the Messiah came for the redemption of sinners, not a political restoration of the Jewish State. It is safe to say the reason Jesus died nearly alone is because it was not "His Hour" to Judge the nations. It was only "His hour" to go to the cross. Why did He die nearly alone?

The Jews, and even His disciples, expected Jesus "to save now, hosanna." The Dominionists today are crying "hosanna now." They claim we can restore what Jesus failed to do in His first advent. But the resurrected Jesus had to tell His disciples that it was not for them to know the times and the season that the Father has fixed, by His own authority," to restore the Kingdom to Israel.

On the cross Jesus could have called 10,000 angels for His rescue. But this would have totally contravened the plan of redemption from sin decreed by God (not "decreed" by a fake apostle!) from the foundation of the world. Redemption from sin remains to this day the focus of the kingdom of God. Jerusalem was filled with zealots (we would call them undercover militia). They were called the sicarii (Latin for dagger), for they hid daggers in their robes to assassinate Romans and collaborators. Even the Essene community at the Dead Sea was calling for a final battle between the Sons of God (Israel) and the Sons of Darkness.

Into this political milieu Jesus never uttered a solitary political word. He made it plain that “My kingdom is not of this world” (John 18:36). He, however, looked forward to when the Son of Man would RETURN and when He then would judge the nations. But until that great and awesome Day of the Lord, when the Savior would return on the clouds of glory, He was not striving for an earthly kingdom. He was content with establishing a church, His body upon the earth. Many in His day were offended by Him because He apparently had not political ambitions. Judas is speculated to be among them. Jesus asserted with force that His day to rule the nations awaited His second return, when He would judge the nations like a shepherd divides His sheep from the goats.

G. Peter Wagner, chief apostle of the New Apostolic Reformation (NAR), made a tactical decision to see Dominionism as temporarily consistent with democracy. I have not been able to locate when and where Wagner made such an "apostolic decree." But, indeed, the Kingdom of God cannot ultimately be a democracy. For Wagner and any other Dominionist, the democratic process can only be a way station on the road to their "kingdom of God on the earth," which is prior to the real Parousia.

Wagner's tactical decision (as opposed to strategic decision) was a major change. It opened the way for the false apostles and prophets to enter the political arena. So now "apostle" Lou Engle is free to lay apostolic hands of blessing on 3-time divorcee Newt Gingrich. Now the NAR apostles and prophets, thanks to Janet Porter and WorldNetDaily, can take their equal places in politics. Now they have the blessing of James Dobson, who endorsed Janet Porter’s May Day event at the Lincoln Memorial. Now Cindy Jacobs, prophetess extraordinaire, who had a visit of the Seraphim in her room that caught it on fire, can share the stage with Newt Gingrich. Now Rick Joyner, who has his own political action organization which he calls the Oak Initiative -- and who reportedly made a trip to heaven and heard Martin Luther repent of the Reformation -- can rub shoulders with James Dobson.

So now these self-anointed, self-appointed apostles of the NAR, laden down with false signs and wonders, false apostolic decrees, and false prophets -- who compete with each other in imaginary "can you top this" fraudulent oracles supposed to be from God -- have been given the kiss of acceptance by Christian Right politicians, including James Dobson. The apostles and prophets see this as a match made in heaven, a giant step toward appointing apostles as governors of every state and province in the world, complete with in-house prophetic seers to make supernatural decisions.

But I for one see it as blip in church history (like the Montanists of the 1st century), a match made in the pit of political desire for power before our King returns in His glory.

Obama's War on Truth [add-on]

Victor Davis Hanson truly nails it in his latest article. He covers it all - the truth about Obama's lies, Obama's misleading rhetoric, Obama's historical errors, Obama's flip flopping, his political and moral relativism, and the deception that he is inflicting upon America. The Lamestream Media of Mass Deception does not help because most commentators are "in the bag" with Obama - no matter how much damage he is doing to our nation. Most of the MSM refuse to call him out or into account for all of what is mentioned in the article.

By no stretch of the imagination is purported Western bias against Islam commensurate with the Islamic threats that have been issued to Danish cartoonists, British novelists, the pope, or German opera producers.

Obama surely knows that a mosque is acceptable in America and Europe in a way that a church is not in most of the Gulf States, or that Muslims freely voice their beliefs in Rotterdam and Dearborn in a way Westerners dare not in Tehran, Damascus, or Riyadh.

Here we see the classic notion of the “noble lie,” or the assumption that facts are to be cited or ignored in accordance with the intended aim: Interfaith reconciliation means downplaying Muslim excesses, or treating Islamic felonies as equivalent with Western misdemeanors.

Why has President Obama developed a general disregard for the truth, in a manner far beyond typical politicians who run one way and govern another, or hide failures and broadcast successes?

First, he has confidence that the media will not be censorious and will simply accept his fiction as fact. A satirist, after all, could not make up anything to match the obsequious journalists who bow to their president, proclaim him a god, and receive sexual-like tingles up their appendages.

Second, Obama is a postmodernist. He believes that all truth is relative, and that assertions gain or lose credibility depending on the race, class, and gender of the speaker. In Obama’s case, his misleading narrative is intended for higher purposes. Thus it is truthful in a way that accurate facts offered by someone of a different, more privileged class and race might not be.

Third, Obama talks more than almost any prior president, weighing in on issues from Stephen Colbert’s haircut, to Sean Hannity’s hostility, to the need to wash our hands. In Obama’s way of thinking, his receptive youthful audiences are proof of his righteousness and wisdom — and empower him to pontificate on matters he knows nothing about.

Finally, our president is a product of a multicultural education: Facts either cannot be ascertained or do not matter, given that the overriding concern is to promote an equality of result among various contending groups. That is best done by inflating the aspirations of those without power, and deflating the “dominant narratives” of those with it.

The problem in the next four years will be not just that the president of the United States serially does not tell the truth. Instead, the real crisis in our brave new relativist world will be that those who demonstrate that he is untruthful will themselves be accused of lying.

What's Going On Behind the Curtain [Add-On]

A few people have come here to this blog claiming that I'm a "tin foil hat" conspiracy theorist regarding Obama's "election" despite the fact that he is not a Natural Born Citizen of the United States of America. So be it. I'll wear that hat.

Even some Christians have taken me to task for constantly writing about the subject. Many have given up on the issue - they think that nothing can be done about it now. Perhaps they are correct. But I see MANY, MANY patriots continuing to fight against this usurpation of our government.

Today, I read an article that some may also consider as an additional "conspiracy theory." However, with the craziness that is going on in our nation via the Obamination Admin, the absolutely traitorous congressional actions (against the will of the people that they are SUPPOSED TO BE REPRESENTING!), and the impotence of our judiciary system; a lot of what is written in the following article makes sense. In fact, it makes MUCH MORE SENSE than what our current Lamestream Media of Mass Deception is putting out in front of us on a daily basis.

It is WELL WORTH THE READ [comments there are very insightful as well] and I recommend that EVERYONE READS IT if you really want to know what's going on behind the "curtain" of Obamanomics, the "swine" flu hysteria, as well as all of the other details contained within the article. It sheds some light upon the perplexing struggle between the New World Order Marxists vs. the Islamic "Sharia" plans for such an existence. You will readily see why Obama wants to throw Israel "under the bus."

Thanks for the great insight.lets keep our eyes on the prize, the only real prize.
What an amazing time to be alive to see the fulfillment of so much of God’s prophetic word before out eyes.
As for the oddities of what we see transpiring in America today, it can be none other than the fulfillment of Genesis 12:3, I will curse those who curse you.
Looking at every aspect of this once great nation from the economy to foreign policy it is cursed.
Israel is the stumbling block to the plans of Satan and his followers and for sure God is setting the trap for all the nations as they will surely come to the mountains of Israel in a grand colaition of hte willing to become food for the birds.
What an incredible time to see the soon coming Kingdom which will never be broken, Jesus return to Jerusalem, the center of the earth.
The NWO mixture of clay (democracy) and iron (Islam) today will be short lived and doomed from the start (shorter than Bubba Billy’s 8 year rule and Herr Bush’s 8 year rule.)
All that hard work and only 3 1/2 years for these losers and their agenda before Jesus brings it all down.
Thank God we do not have to be the blind following the blind elites to the eternal hot house God has prepared for them.

I agree. I think your piece is Excellent. I see all your points made and believe they are valid with one exception. The Lens of Scripture can fill in all the holes! First, Syria..Isiah 17 addresses this issue. Ezekiel 38 & 39 address the Russia, Iran, Horn of Africa, and China issue. Daniel 7 & Rev. 17 address the 10 kings that will be evident soon…and the one who is pulling all the strings, that’s Anti-Christ, the Anti-Christ and he’ll be revealed soon also. I think it’s brilliant how the Lord is using all the NWO Bilderbergs/Trilaterial Commission, UN, EU, etc… to reveal what we’ve always known in Scripture! It’s all coming together and to those who Know HIM, Jesus Christ, this should not in anyway shake us, but make us stronger and trust that Jesus Christ will come again and all what has been said from Genesis to Revelation will come to pass. We live in exciting times! Your post, and this site has been a brillant Light in an ever increasingly dark and evil place. May the Lord God of Heaven cover you with protection! Maranatha!

I found the commentary right before the article to be EXACTLY as I had also experienced in my childhood years!

I decided to provide this as Part 3 because of it’s historical significance and clarity of relativity to our current situation with the usurper Barack Obama.

I am part of the first wave of Baby Boomers and grew up in a time of keen awareness of the Soviet and communist threats. We had air raid drills in grade school and everyone watched motionless as reports of the Cuban Missile crisis were broadcast on TV. Daily we were made known that the communists planned on controlling the world with words from Nikita Kruschev that “We will bury you.” So the report below from the Congressional Record of 1963 has no surprises for me. However, it is a good reminder for me and a wake up call for younger generations. As, you read the statements below, I am certain they will resonate with you and you will instantly relate them to this now, four part series.

It puts the Kennedy assassination in a whole new light, too.

I can still recall how I felt when we learned at school on Friday, November 22, 1963that President John F. Kennedy was assassinated!! Even though I was just eight years old, that horribly shattering event was the 9/11 of that era. I remember walking home from school absolutely stunned that someone would murder the President of the United States of America.

I didn't feel safe when our school did the bomb shelter drills. An alarm would go off throughout the school. It was that shrill, air raid low-to-high crescendo type alarm - different from the usual "ding ding ding" of the fire alarm bell so that teachers could distinguish between the two drills. We would go down to the basement and huddle alongside the cold wall in that dark hallway, cringing in fright just thinking that if it had been a real emergency, bombs might be dropping all around us.

It was probably my first experience of how very dangerous the "real world" is.

When President Kennedy was shot and killed, I realized what kind of terrible evil men can inflict upon each other.

Forty-six years later, now born again in Christ with over 25 years of Bible study, the fear of the "real world" hasn't dissipated, but knowing that I am "not of this world" as Jesus said and knowing what I need to know to be confident in my salvation and relationship with Christ, helps me to see the past, present and future for what it truly is. At the culmination of history, Christ will return for His own. No matter what happens here on this earth, the future and eternity is in His mighty hands.

Meanwhile, I will watch, learn and work for "the time is near." I will go about my duties as a Christian - in the here and now - to fight for what is right; as both a patriotic American and follower of Jesus Christ. My utmost duty is to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with all who come to this blog.

The fact that certain people refuse to recognize that fact does not change the truth. As Roman 2:15 informs us - their thoughts will either accuse or excuse them!

The gay christian movement is in the business of excusing themselves. They have chosen "to exchange the truth for a lie."

And, what's more, they will do ANYTHING and EVERYTHING to attempt to cover their sin and excuse themselves rather than what is truly needed - repentance! Why? Because whether one admits it or not, one's own conscience and God's Word accuses them.

She tries to make us sound like cats in the litterbox or something. But no "God" accuses me. It's God's little helpers, like Christine, who try to accuse me and other LGBTs, and the thing is, the "crime" isn't a bad thing at all. The "crime" is a just-fine thing that can sometimes be really good!
