Michelle Obama has made Ashley Olsen's dream come true – by wearing one of her designer skirts on US TV.
The former child star told Harper's Bazaar in an interview last year that she would love the First Lady to wear something from The Row, the fashion label that she co-founded with her twin sister Mary-Kate.
The 24-year-old actress said at the time: 'I'd love to get Michelle Obama in The Row.'
And it looks as though her wish has now come true as, according to Newsweek magazine, Obama wore one of the sisters' skirts when she appeared on a daytime US TV show earlier this month.
The First Lady is reported to have worn a pleated Evelyn Skirt, which costs $1,170, from the twins’ womenswear label for her 18 April appearance on The View.
The Olsens’ luxury fashion brand was founded in 2006, and sales are estimated at $10m to $12m annually. A pair of leather leggings cost $1,700, while a jersey T-shirt will set you back $290, and a cashmere and mink sweater could be yours for $5,900.
The success of their high-end fashion label is adding to the twins' incredible wealth. According to Forbes, the Olsens' holding company, Dualstar Entertainment Group – created when they were just six years old – has annual sales of $1bn.
Talking about the fashion line, Ashley says: 'We really want The Row to be an American luxury brand. We believe in not just American by representation, but American by make.'
