Cee-Lo Green Says 'Thank You' To Firefighters

Cee-Lo Green’s single Forget You has been a mainstay on the Pop charts for the past couple of months and now the song will take on a new life in a campaign to support firefighters.

Green went back into the studio to rework his Grammy award-winning song to coincide with a campaign sponsored by Duracell to show appreciation to the brave men and woman in the fire department.

The name of the campaign is Power of Those Who Protect Us and it is a program to benefit the National Volunteer Fire Council, a nonprofit group that represents the interests of volunteers, EMS and rescue services.

The song will sound the same but the lyrics will be changed drastically. The chorus will now go as follows: "For a lifetime of service in the name of love, we wanna thank you… I could say it a thousand times and it wouldn't be enough, we wanna thank you for everything you do."

"It's a very noble cause, and I connect with it very, very personally because my mother was a fireman as well -- one of the first black female firemen in Atlanta, Georgia, so quite a historic accomplishment," Green said.
