Vick Awarded 101 Awards Offensive Player of The Year! (Blog)

Philadelphia quarterback Michael Vick, the 101 Awards’ NFC offensive player of the year, received his second major award in two nights, having been honored Friday night by the Maxwell Club in Atlantic City.

“Every award I’ve received means that much more than what it did in the past,” Vick said. “I didn’t get those awards two years ago because I was here in Kansas in prison.”

This was Vick’s second trip to Kansas City since he served 19 months in federal prison in Leavenworth because of his role in a dog-fighting ring. The Eagles played a preseason game in Kansas City last year.

“I was actually excited to come back,” Vick said. “I spent two years of my life here.

“I learned a lot in that situation. I learned patience, poise and persistence, and it definitely helped me as an individual.”

New England QB Tom Brady was the AFC offensive player of the year.
