Cash Money Launching Book Publishing Company?! (Blog)

Cash Money will expand their empire to include a book publishing company in the upcoming days.

The new venture, Cash Money Content [CMC], will partner with Atria books, and has already acquired the rights to some literary works including that of author Robert “Iceberg Slim” Beck. The first book to be released from CMC however will be Raw Law: An Urban Guide To Criminal Justice, written by Muhammad Ibn Bashir, Esq.

Explaining his decision to launch a publishing company, Ronald “Slim” Williams said that he intends to bring some of the same elements from his record company into CMC and release books that will inspire African-Americans to read more.

“I wanted to do something so we could help our people to read more,” said Williams to AllHipHop.com. “My plan is [to] do some of the same things I have done with music. We want to be a little different than the traditional book companies.”

“I want the writers to have creative freedom to be their self. That’s how you get their best work. That’s the only thing I require. I see a lot of black authors who never get a chance to get their work out there and there are some great books out there that need to get out [to] the masses.”
